Kind of a waste of a rating, ups and down votes on reddit isn't a reliable indicator of quality/availability, esp when only using amazon. Further, it really depends on the person riding, why it's being used, and the conditions people are riding in. Person riding - are they young/old, heavy/light, speed demons/cautious. Why? - commuter/recreation Conditions - rain/wet/snow/off-road/trail/roads/dirt/etc.. Different scooters are going to be used for different purposes. The kind of hills someone is riding on can also make a massive difference. So scooters are going to struggle with the easiest of inclines. For example - Ninebot g30 struggles with even the tiniest hills, mine drops quickly to 9mph and below on a minor incline. Whereas the g2 will cruise up it with no too much issue. If you're a commuter riding in the winter, how well does it handle rain? G30 has seemingly zero issues in the rain, even near downpour, others will likely short out. Some, battery compartment is solid against rain, but stem....not so much. Knowing these things are really what help people buy scooters, not some arbitrary reddit like/dislike
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed the 20 most recommended electric scooters on Reddit ->meh, speed isn't everything. I'd rather have something reliable that I know is going to work every time I turn it on, and it's affected by things like rain. That said, Segways are extremely reliable, g30p is about $600 now, G2Max has been available recently for $799 and it adds suspension and little higher top speed as well as blinkers. The f2pro might hit that $500ish price point too.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a college student under 600? ->Depends on the overall budget though. College students don't necessarily want to sent or have the money to spend on a higher end scooter, esp when there are decent dependable scooters that may not go 50mph with a range of 90 miles. College students are going to have issues of storage and theft as primary concerns. So spending over $1k for something that could easily grt stolen makes zero sense. You're really better of getting something that is cheaper and reliable and speed doesn't have to be king nor does everyone want speed to be king. Add that it has zero to do with masculinity as you're trying to make it put to be. You're not a little girl if you don't want to go 50mph+, you just want a quicker commute and do it safely. Some people have balance issues and the faster you go the more dangerous it becomes. So something like those entry/mid level segways are amazing options because they aren't made for speed but dependability. And no, it doesn't have to be a tradeoff, but often times is.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a college student under 600? ->at what point do you think I'm the OP? My experience and a lot of peoples that for the money, the Segways are some of the most dependable on the market and aren't built for speed. Some people are going to really like that aspect of it. Probably esp a college student on a budget.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a college student under 600? ->Just looked at Amazon, the Segway g30p is $449. Its a tank of a scooter. Built to last, and rarely has issues. Its not a scooter thats built for speed but to get you from point A to point B.
r/ElectricScooters • Scooter Advice ->Not really in terms of snow, but I found the ninebot g30p very reliable in the rain
r/ElectricScooters • Scooters in winter compared to bikes ->Got my max g30p used from r3new on eBay. A little over 300 with shipping. Got it in under a week. Came with a 1 year warranty. Used Klarna so I didn’t blow my budget for the month. My commute originally 4.5 miles is now down to 3.6 after experimenting with my route. I’ve put 90 miles on it in 30 days. Some of these miles are joy rides also. No issues so far.
r/ElectricScooters • Opinions on maxshot scooter ->Personally if just for street use and you’re not thinking of going over 30mphs. I would suggest Segway Max G30P. I have couple scooters and electric bikes and think Segway is amazing. Used it mostly in city. Very reliable , never had a problem with it. Tires are very reliable , had few nails go in from riding around lake shore dr, didn’t even need to fix the tires because it has self sealing future. Used it off road on grass , dirt. Even rain. Last about 30-40 miles. Easy to pack and carry(FITS IN ANY TRUNK). Owned it now for over 5 years , even bought exact same one for my SO so we could ride together because how much we liked it. Emergency wise it can also easily ride 2 people at same time. Also very smooth ride compared to other scooters. ONE OF THE SMOOTHEST. Never feel bumps But do your research , maybe price wise you can find something different to your liking. Good luck.
r/AskChicago • I’m looking to buy an electric scooter. Any recommendations? What type of helmet is best? ->I use a Niu for commuting and trips out to BK/Astoria like the back third of your trip. The Segway would also fit the bill here. 300lb weight capacity is a tough sell - most scooters top out at 265ish. Similarly, the RFK bridge ramp is a pain, since the bike assist infrastructure is minimal and very bike-focused so a scooter's smaller tires and lower-set profile can cause issues going up/down the stairs. [KQI 300x 23mph](https://shop.niu.com/collections/electric-scooter/products/niu-kqi-300x-electric-scooter) [KQI Air X - lighter, stiffer, lower top speed (20mph), but easier to manage the stairs with](https://shop.niu.com/collections/electric-scooter/products/niu-kqi-air-x-lightest-electric-scooter) [You see this recco everywhere, the ninebot max - 19mph max but will have difficulty managing 300lbs + slopes](https://store.segway.com/ninebot-kickscooter-max)
r/ElectricScooters • Overwhelmed by options - Help me choose a reliable e-scooter for my NYC commute! ->3000+ miles on Segway Max G30. Only repair this far has been the front wheel bearing change. Simple and built like a tank.
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed the 20 most recommended electric scooters on Reddit ->G30P
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed the 20 most recommended electric scooters on Reddit ->Your list looks solid for campus riding. The Max G30P is dependable but you might find it heavy to carry upstairs. The NIU Air is super light but I have also seen the same mixed reviews about durability. The GoTrax G6 and the Segway E2 Pro are good budget options though they may feel underpowered on hills. When I was shopping for something similar a friend suggested the Circooter Mate. It folds down quickly, is sturdy enough for daily use, and has enough range and power for short commutes with a backpack. It is not the lightest but the balance between portability and ride comfort has been really good for campus life. If you can wait for sales around Black Friday or back to school you might see it drop well within your budget.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Electric Scooters for College ->Used yes. New maybeeeee but not really. You can sometimes find a ninebot max g30p for aound $200-400 used.
r/ElectricScooters • Is it realistic to get a decent (adult) electric scooter for under $300 ->Segway G30P is a tank and my first escoot, moving on to bigger and badder scooters, but keeping the G30P around until the frame breaks.
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year ->Segway has a history of nerfing their battery and range through firmware updates, my G30P went from 55km to 20km range after firmware updates, super unimpressed with that side of things, other than that though they are solid af, almost 20,000km on it, some minor breaks, two wheel assembly replacements, upgrading soon but plan on keeping it around for modding since there are so many different aftermarket parts.
r/ElectricScooters • Which e-scooters are the most reliable and good quality? ->Depends on your budget and distance you travel. Ninebot max g30p is nice for lower cost no suspension. The newest Segway ninebot max G3 i would recommend if you have that budget. Water resistance rating is amazing. Speed and acceleration is good. Distance is decent. Dual suspension and disc brakes and the steering geometry is superior to many scooters on the market. Another I understand is the Segway ninebot zt3. I hear the zt3 acceleration is quite amazing. Yume is a solid company and their swift or Hawk model can take a look at them. You can find ninebot max g30p and g30lp used on marketplace or craigslist quite often if in a bigger town and they are reliable.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->Don't be lazy! Put in some effort! Segway has good comparison charts and u con also select specific ones and compare https://www.segway.com/product-comparison Segway max g30p $599 if u want something tried true boring stable and reliable Kaabo mantis 8 if u want more speed and sporty but also want to buy from a real company with support. Mantis 8 is a way better deal for specs then then max g2 or the max g30p
r/ElectricScooters • Best e scooter for 21 year old college student looking to zip around Ann Arbor. (Cyber Monday deals appreciated) ->I have my used Max G30P (driven about 2000mi) on Craigslist for $200. This is not an offer to sell you mine, but a suggestion that a similar deal could also easily exist in your area.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->Already completed the recall repair, so I'm not sure that is materially relevant.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->agreed, maybe not a solid tires m365 clone, like the one in the photo, but say a g30p is really useful and would recommend
r/ElectricScooters • In a world full of hyperscooters, feel free to pick up a 16 mph cruiser ->Been e-scooting since early 2021; my 1st, a G30P (broke while riding); 2nd a Emove Cruiser; [2nd & 3rd are Joyor S10S](https://paa.neocities.org/img/escoot4.jpg). I bought a 2nd one while the first one is still 100% b/c I got paranoid about Tariffs. And rightly so; I got it from their [US warehouse](https://joyorescooter.com/collections/us-warehouse) for $849, and then they went up to $1049, but now they're back down to $899. The S10-Sz; the 5 is single motor. Go dual motor & all hydraulic brakes, no matter the brand.
r/ElectricScooters • What E-Scooter should I buy? ->I take my Ninebot G30P to campus. No issues and easy maintenance. Just check the tire pressure every week and wipe it off. I would order from amazon in case u get a defective scooter, since it took me 2 weeks to get a new one from segway themselves after I had an issue.
r/ElectricScooters • Best e scooter for 21 year old college student looking to zip around Ann Arbor. (Cyber Monday deals appreciated) ->Gotrax is e-waste tier until you hit GX Zero. Even then, it's a D tier option. Garbage cells that don't last more than a year usually, controllers blowing up, and other electrical issues plague them. Also terrible company in general. # $500 budget * **F2** \- 38lbs, 700w, 36v 367Wh, Front disc brake, 18mph max, *(up to 950w/22mph+)***\*** * **KQi 3 Pro** \- 45lbs, 700w, 48V 486Wh, Front+Rear disc brakes, 20mph max The KQi 3 Pro is better than the F2, stock. G30P has more power/range. Take ur pick. \**You can flash SHFW (scooter hacking firmware) onto Segways in minutes, unlocking control of speed/power/etc. No tools required (if you join the Telegram).* [***As long as you follow the guide***](https://github.com/lekrsu/shfw-walkthrough?tab=readme-ov-file#Ninebot-g2-f2)***,*** *it is highly unlikely to damage anything.*
r/ElectricScooters • New electric scooter under $500 ->Ninebot Max G30P ($600), followed closely by the Max G2 ($900), are **KING** of reliability/quality. Nami Klima/Burn-E ($1800+) are best for high performance. Niu KQi 100P ($400) is the only reliable/quality budget option. Niu, Inmotion, and Kaabo make some contenders as well.
r/ElectricScooters • Which e-scooters are the most reliable and good quality? ->Yes of course! It's a great as first scooter. However, I think the Ninebot Max G30P is an even better option. It may have a slightly lower top speed, but it MORE than makes up for it. For starters, it's the SINGLE most reliable most reliable scooter to date, has more features, a larger battery, bigger tires (which improves comfort and safety), a much bettf disc brakes (does slightly reduce braking, but it has better regen to make up for it), it's one of the most water resisitant scooters (hence why they're used as rental scooters), and there's a MASSIVE aftermarket of parts/mods to As you grow out of it over time, you might want to upgrade to better scooter at some point. With the G30, you can unlock the controller entirely, and crank ujp the speed/power output pretty substantially. all for free. Remember, the components are very overbuilt and can take a good amount more power/speed. My G2 (it's tw) went from 22mph 1000w, to 35mph 1600w just from that. If you want suspension, thete's bolt on kits available for it that are really good. Both will serve you well. The ninebot will just serve you a bit better overall.
r/ElectricScooters • NIU KQi3 Max Electric Kick Scooter ->We’ll update my mom got me this! https://www.bestbuy.com/product/segway-max-g30p-electric-kick-scooter-foldable-electric-scooter-w-40-4-mi-max-operating-range-18-6-mph-max-speed-black/J394R973GL/sku/6621254?sb_share_source=PDP I know this isn’t in the $300 budget. She just randomly changed her mind lol and bought this. The distance and speed is really good I never really go that far to the point where it dies and it charges really fast. Idk what the price says as anyone is reading it but it’s $500 off right now. And there’s an app for it!
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for an electric scooter on Amazon, $300 budget. ->I don’t work where I work anymore, but I really like the scooter and I just ride around (mostly outside of my town) .
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for an electric scooter on Amazon, $300 budget. ->The Segway MAX G30P for $550 is definitely a solid choice in the budget category. It offers decent range. It’s a great option. That said, if you're open to exploring other options, Circooter also has some great scooters in that price range, like the Circooter Mate. It’s another solid option with good power for everyday commuting, decent range, and it’s built well for the price. Either way, both are solid picks, but it really depends on what you need in terms of range, power, and overall ride quality. Just make sure to consider the type of commute you have and any hills you might need to tackle.
r/ElectricScooters • Best budget scooter ->I've been a lurker in this sub for a while, and a little while ago I got a Max g30p. Been loving it, but I've gotten used to the speed and the range isn't great. I'm now saving for an upgrade, and I'm looking around at what to get. I'm in Canada, and I'd like something for under $2,000 Canadian (preferably under $1,700, but that's way too cheap to ask) that goes 70km on a charge at minimum. I understand speed lowers range, but 50+ kmh would be nice too. I understand that these are pretty extreme asks for the price, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anything. I'm looking at the Arwibon GT08 at the moment, I can't seem to find a solid range test going fast though. Any help is appreciated.
r/ElectricScooters • Budget friendly long range scooter recommendations? ->I know I'm late to this, but if you ever want to go faster it's pretty easy. I hit 50kmh flat ground on mine after swapping the motor connectors and flashing custom firmware. You should swap the motor connectors to mr60 anyways since the stock ones can sometimes melt from using regen braking down a big hill. I just paid someone to solder the new ones on for me (since I don't know how to solder) + get the settings right in the custom firmware. If you might ever want to mod it I suggest not updating the scooters firmware in the app, like never. Makes it way easier to flash new firmware without bricking the controller or something. You can use the Scooter hacking utility app to flash custom firmware after you swap connectors. If you want I can send you the settings I've used for 3000 kilometers with no issues, I average 40-45kmh with a little bit of wind against me and 50kmh with no wind. Just whatever you do, don't mess with custom firmware without swapping the motor connectors. And don't adjust anything without knowing exactly what ranges are safe. I'm honestly surprised this little tank hasn't snapped in half or something with how much I abuse it haha. Anyways feel free to dm me if you have any questions or would like my settings since finding good ones is a crap shoot lol.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->If you didn't know already, since you've upgraded the connectors you can now push the scooter way faster using custom firmware. I hit 50kmh flat ground no wind, and even higher with tail wind or down hill. If you want my settings I can send you them, I've ran them for 3000 kms so far.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->Oof really? I thought you could just change it back. Also in the future I recommend Scooter hacking utility app and flash their built in firmware, that way you can edit literally everything on the fly right on your phone without flashing new firmware.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->Oh wow, alright haha. Guess you don't exactly need the extra few km per hour when you have those other scooters lol. The g30p is my only scooter, and probably the only one I'll ever have since I'm gonna be making an ebike build next summer.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->Sorry for the late response here, but vibrations on what? The g30p? What box?
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->Ah alright. You mean vibration when the wheel was off the ground? Cause I used to get a weird vibration when going over 40kmh (on the ground) on mine and it sort of just dissapeared haha
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->You're going to need to park at every house. It takes zero effort to raise and lower a kickstand with your foot, and they all have kickstands. What's a normal day look like? How far do you need to go? How many hours are you out there on it? What do you plan on using the scooter for once you've found a real job(lol)? The battery is the most expensive part. Finding a new scooter at that price point that has the range you might need is probably going to be an issue for that reason. The first thing that comes to mind is looking for a used Segway g30p. It's a very reliable scooter with good range, but it isn't very exciting, and it doesn't have suspension.
r/ElectricScooters • An electric scooter to door hang in neighborhoods ->Your dreaming of you think a es3 is going anywhere near 28 miles on a charge If you go slow and take it easy you’ll get 18-20 miles max out of it that’s when the weather is warm out and. Flat smooth riding surface no headwinds a good rule of thumb on any electric scooter is to reduce claimed range by a minimum of 1/3 that’s if your not going real heavy on the. Throttle and riding as fast as it will go . If you want a scooter that will give a range of 28 miles go with a Segway max g30p it’ll cost you more initially but will last far longer due to Less charging cycles being used and the ride quality of 10 inch tubeless tires and it’s longer wheelbase makes it a far safer scooter to ride 8 inch solid tires are ok for a few miles short trips but will beat you to Death after that the Segway es3 is not a very stable scooter I own one that I use for short trips to grab a few groceries whenever I ride it I think To myself this thing is a dangerous death trap I have multiple scooters that range from the Segway es1 with an added external battery making it effectively a es3 all the way to my Nami burn e max . There is a saying buy nice or buy twice which winds up costing you more than had you just sprung for the better scooter to begin with . Also get a helmet full face bare minimum .
r/ElectricScooters • Are electric scooters worth it? ->I’d recommend the Segway max g30p as it’s a well proven design it’s well built fairly water resistant and parts are plentiful for it it has 10inch self sealing tubeless tires so flats are a rare thing . 10 inch tires are far safer than the 8inch solid tires found on many other scooters it has a real world range of 28 miles so it can go a fair ways before needing to be recharged it’s $799 at Best Buy though it can be found for less on eBay bigger batteries will last longer as they don’t need to be recharged as often and the cells are better quality in the Segway having a lifecycle of 500 cycles opposed to around 300 cycles on the really cheap scooters it’s a scooter that Will last her 4-5 years more than long enough for her to gain experience before moving to a faster more powerful dual motor scooter as most people wind up doing eventually. Get her a full faced helmet as it will save supporting your local dentist & or plastic surgeon should she fall and land Badly also get her a set of rechargeable lights that can be set to flashing helping to make her more visible knee and elbow pads are a good addition and will save on road rash should she fall a pair of hard knuckled motorcycle gloves are a good idea as well electric scooters are a fun and safe means of transportation provided the rider follows. The correct riding techniques . I hope that this was helpful for you and her .
r/ElectricScooters • My 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome. ->Just be aware when you buy a scooter buying a cheap scooter with a small battery will require frequent charging That will burn through the limited number of charge cycles cheap scooters are also made with battery’s that are made with low quality cells that will have less charge cycles before becoming unusable 300 charge cycles with frequent charging vs a larger battery with 500charge cycles that doesn’t need charging all the time will last must longer spend the extra to get a bigger battery of higher quality it’s the difference between a scooter that will last 4-5 years or more or just one summer of riding a scooter such as the Segway max g30p is a good choice it has 10 inch tubeless tires which are far more reliable than tube tires 8 inch tires are too small to roll over lips pulling into parking lots and the solid tires will beat you to death it’s fairly water resistant and will survive being caught in a rainstorm parts availability is also good where with cheap scooters parts are nonexistent so if something goes wrong the scooter is just more e waste it has a claimed range of 40 miles 28 real world so you can also use it for riding recreationally get a full faced helmet hard knuckled gloves knee and elbow pads as new riders are prone to falling as they are learning and developing their riding skills
r/ElectricScooters • Best electric scooter for daily work commute? ->When it comes to range the claimed range is not what your going to get as it’s under ideal conditions that they arrive at those figures cut advertised range by at least 1/3 to 1/2 a good option. At that price range is the Segway max g30p with a claimed range of 40 so plan on around 28 real World if you don’t hot rod it & or are not a heavy rider it has excellent parts availability is fairly water resistant so will survive if you get caught in n a rainstorm it has self sealing tubeless tires that are 10 inch it doesn’t have suspension but the 10 inch tires mitigate that somewhat it’s a well proven design that’s been around for 4 years it would be my choice if I was looking for a scooter to get me around . Obviously it’s not going to do steep hills being a single motor scooter . Also check the tire pressure with a real gauge at least once a week
r/ElectricScooters • Scooter recommendations ->Range wise I was looking into something similar to the Ninebot Max G30 since that scooter moved me around in nyc and NJ. I only had to charge it once a week. Only thing is that it wasn’t that great on hills.
r/ElectricScooters • Commuter Scooter? ->I can tell you right now that the G2 is NOT good for hills. It slows a ton. I wouldn't do the F3 either. ZT3 will work, but portability takes a hit, and upgradability is lost for that discount. G3 is a beast. Very portable and sexy. You can add the extra battery when it's out, or even swap the battery for a GT3 battery and gain 50% more internally. (You can do the GT3 battery swap on the ZT3 as well.)
r/NinebotMAX • Help choosing between Segway Max G2, Max G3, F3, and ZT3 Pro for SF commuting ->Something to note about escooters is that tire changes are a nightmare especially if you're looking at commuter escooters. My experience with a Xiaomi pro 2 was that I loved it, till I had to change the tires. Even an escooters shop that was supposed to specialise in xiaomis didn't fit the tire properly. That said, I would choose the Xiaomi again if you don't mind a dealing with tire changes. alternatively the ninebot G30 is kind of like a more expensive but slightly better in every way - slightly larger battery, 10in tires, more waterproof. I would go for an ebike if I had more space in the house to store it.
r/perth • Electric Scooter for Commuting in Perth- advice please. ->This is great ! Thanks for doing this. Nice to see some insight with so many different scooters on the market. I have the 9bot max g30 and it’s just been amazing . I also have had the zero 11 , and I currently own the dualtron X2 . What I’ve learned over the years that every person is different. And e-scooters are now personal preference. For myself I’m somewhat a multi tasker , I have different needs so I had to buy multiple scooters .
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year ->9 bot g30 max I use it as a commuter , it’s strong and enduring. I’m a heavy guy so it’s a slow climber , but that’s ok , majority of the time I’m on flat pavement. I use this for situations like fixing my car , when you fix your car you need to leave your car there for serveral hours . I just leave it in my trunk until I arrive , pull it out and ride to the nearest train or bus to get home. Or I just ride home if it’s close enough. Another funny use I use it for is when I drive to a party and get really drunk. I will leave my car somewhere parked. Uber it home and the next morning I’ll use it to commute to pick up my car to save a few bucks . I have 2 of the 9bots so when I have a guest or I’m riding with someone inexperienced I will ride slowly with them so they get the hang of it. It’s great in the summer times to take it to a nearby bike path just to explore the parks and city. Dualton X2 - This is a totally different animal . 100kmph - 80-90kms in range I use this for straight pleasure . I also ride in a group with others whom have big powerful scooters. We ride around the whole city. I don’t carry a lock because I don’t use this for anything but pleasure . I call this the party scooter. I strapped a speaker to it so we have music when we stop. ( we do this in our own secluded spots ) we have a few beers and continue to the next spot. I don’t need to take transit either because it has more than enough range for the entire day of riding. Or 80-90kms of riding which is a lot . The stem I don’t bother folding. It comes with 2 deadbolts that secure it permanently. I must say I’ve ridden many scooters but this stem system is the best stem dualtron has ever made. It’s solid , it doesn’t move. Can handle any terrain. I keep up with cars in it . It’s loud and obnoxious like a Lamborghini. I purposefully do this so I get noticed by cars. I don’t ride recklessly though I have 5 years experience and I ride with full gear on. Again it’s not for the inexperienced rider. You must know your roads , you must ride with caution. It’s like riding a motorcycle basically.
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year ->Oh sorry I didn’t read that part. 800$ cnd is not much for scooter. The 9bot G30 max is excellent
r/ElectricScooters • What E-Scooter should I buy? ->Had mine for 5 years now , no issues , haven’t done any maintenance , I don’t ride much but my other friend has 10,000kms on it and still going strong . Just replaced both tires that’s it.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->The most reliable thing ever is probably the Ninebot Max G30, but in your budget you could also get something like a dual motor Nami Klima, which won't be as indestructible because it has more moving parts, but it'd be a completely different level of fun, quality and comfort. Reliability is hard to quantify. It's pretty much agreed upon that the Max G30 is the peak of that, but for example Nami is also considered high quality and reliable and it's not really possible to measure if it's less or how much less. You said 30MPH, I don't know if you want to go that fast or if that's just the speed limit, but bear in mind that the G30 tops out at around 20MPH and barely gets even there. This isn't necessary bad, but it's just what's adequate for a smaller, no suspension frame like this one. Edit: the G30 also doesn't have blinkers, but the newer Ninebot Max G2 and even newer Max G2 have both blinkers and suspension. They're known to have a little bit more issues than the G30 however.
r/ElectricScooters • What are the MOST reliable E-scooters out there, with budget as less of a concern? ->Care and maintenance are keys to making your escooter last long. An escooter used for offroading, jumping curbs, constantly on low tire pressure, and that has been in accidents... You get the point. You're buying something that does not undergo regular technical inspections so as far as the state of the escooter is, unless it's been barely used, all bets are off. As for "escooter tanks" that last through the ages, you have for example the Ninebot Max G30 whose frame seems indestructible. It's a relatively cheap option if you're on a budget. Its next iteration, the Max G2, seems to hold up pretty well too (mine is still here after 9000km), right now we're at the Max G3. If you don't want bad surprises... well avoid buying very cheap stuff or from brands that are known to have lots of issues/bad customer service.
r/ElectricScooters • Which electric scooter brands actually last for years and are worth buying used or new? ->I've had the Max G30 for 5 years and the thing is a beast. Had to change out a tire once but other than that no issues to date.
r/ElectricScooters • What are the MOST reliable E-scooters out there, with budget as less of a concern? ->Just to put things into perspective for you, my g30 max can muster out about 22-23 miles on a charge...not quite what is claimed
r/ElectricScooters • scooters with the best range that aren’t incredibly expensive ->Segway MAX G30 is a proven, rugged, and simple design that works and has enough speed (19mph) and power for daily commuting use. It just works and not much to worry about. They are $599 now. The G2 is the next generation of this and is probably pretty great as well. I’d get one of those two over anything else. They are like the Civics of scooters.
r/ElectricScooters • Which one for a first scooter? ->20 miles of actual range is plenty on a scooter. You should consider alternate transportation if you’re going beyond that. I say actual range because my G30 MAX is listed at 40 miles, but that’s only in the slowest eco mode. In Sport mode, it’s around 20 miles. I’ve depleted the entire battery before in a ride and its about the limit for how long I’d wanna be on it.
r/ElectricScooters • scooters with the best range that aren’t incredibly expensive ->It’s a fantastic scooter; robust, simple, and reliable. My only complaint on mine is the 19 mph top speed can feel a bit slow on longer straight roads, but as soon as you are on a tighter path it feels quite fast. No suspension is up to personal preference in my opinion; it’s going to be less maintenance and less things to go wrong, but it can be a rough ride when hitting bumps in the road. The tires do help with this somewhat. I don’t think you can go wrong with it. I would take a look at the G2 and G3 and see if the suspension and higher speed is something you care about. But as a workhouse, I think it’s tough to beat the G30. Even if I upgraded to something faster with suspension, I’d still wanna keep my G30 around.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->I've been using my partner's Segway Ninebot eScooter to commute to work regularly for two summers now and have been very happy with it. He bought it locally at Best Buy. It's definitely not the cheapest eScooter, but I'd say it's worth it!
r/Winnipeg • Electric Scooter Recommendations? ->The trusty ninebot max. Good size including wheels, one of the safest and good range. Power brick is built into the deck so you only need to carry a small cable in your bag if you want to charge at work
r/auckland • E-Scooter recommendations ->Segway is being cheap and use low capacity chinese battery cells almost for all their scooters. GT3 battery seems to be different and it has 50% more capacity without increased space. It requires latest high quality cells which obviously cost more money, but shame they don't offer it as option. Something like Ninebot Max could fit almost 2kWh battery internally and it would cost near two grands then, but still very compact. The trend is that compact means low battery and bulky heavy means high battery because it is cheaper that way.
r/ElectricScooters • scooters with the best range that aren’t incredibly expensive ->Just save a bit and get a Ninebot Max. It's a great first scooter, with tons of mods and parts.
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for my first electric kick scooter ->I have a ninebot max. I call it the Model T of scooters. It is cheap to buy, decent range, power, and top speed, reliable, parts are available, it’s easy to modify, a useable size, and not too heavy. There are models that are lighter and slower and models that are heavier and faster. The ninebot max is totally adequate for my commuting needs. (Also look at max vs max g2 vs max g3!)
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->I have the same G30 and have put over 7000+ miles on mine on NYC streets. With normal maintenance, these things will go the distance and last a long time. The air filled tires will offer some cushioning for those style of brick path but it depends on what you are expecting. I personally would be fine. If you are concerned about vibration/comfort, I highly recommend going for something with suspension like the G2. The price is OK, how is the mileage of the scooter?
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->It and the G30 are tanks. The G2's suspension does mean it's heavier and there's more stuff that can break, but it's not *usually* a problem. This is a good moment to remind you that Ninebot have sold *thousands upon thousands* of G2s. Doubting it because of one video is like doubting a car because one dude somewhere had a radiator leak, or something. No product is perfect and acceptable defect rates are a thing. Additionally, an amount of play that small definitely wouldn't stop me riding it. To be honest, I probably wouldn't even be arsed putting the scooter up on the stand to fix it.
r/ElectricScooters • So what's the consensus on the Ninebot Max G2 nowadays? ->Can't help you about reviews, but I *can* tell you - from the tech specs and from user reports here - that E-series Ninebots below the E3 Pro aren't actually very good. They have weak powertrains and tiny ranges and they'll choke on any uphill; personally I'd avoid them all. The E3 Pro specifically is the only one with a half-decent powertrain; I'd imagine that's why people have more things to say about it. I *would* choose a Xiaomi 5 before any E-series, but I'd choose a Ninebot F3, cheaper F2, or even the older G30 before the Xiaomi 5.
r/ElectricScooters • Ninebot E3 Review? No Videos or Reviews Online ->It's the original ultra-reliable tank. It has two flaws: relatively slow maximum speed even unrestricted, and no suspension. Aside from that, it's basically the perfect urban cruiser on the cheap. Now, whether the lack of suspension is a problem depends on your tolerance. Personally I have zero problems with that setup, and for relatively slow urban commuters actually prefer unsprung wheels because they're lighter and have less stuff that can break. But my tolerance *is* relatively high, so make of that what you will. As for speed, I find it good enough for city riding. You can mod a G30 for more speed, but it's a significant expense and DIY effort and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->The G3's battery is a bit bigger than the G30's but the scooter is so much more powerful that range is drastically reduced.
r/ElectricScooters • Commuter Scooter? ->I just got this same scooter for $310. My commute is 14 miles round trip on a variety of terrains. I guess something with shocks would be more comfortable, but I have no complaints about the ride quality. The tires do a decent job of soaking some of the vibration. My general opinion is that this is the best value scooter you can get and it is “name brand”, so it’ll hold value, if you don’t like it, just flip it to someone else for $300. This is a whole lot of scooter for only $300.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->I’ve had mine for 2 years now and all I did was upgrade the suspension cause I ride mine everywhere if I can and it’s held up
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->Look at ninebot g30s. I have beaten the absolute shiiit out of mine and it Is still going very strong. It's actually significantly more durable than my $1.8k Apollo city pro. Just no where near as fun
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Inmotion S1 good for my first electric skateboard? ->A ninebot g30lp/p isn’t heavy, I have a p and compared to my friends single motor 800w it’s lightwork going up 10-20 stairs, not easy but not hard
r/ElectricScooters • My 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome. ->I live in San Francisco, so potholes and terrain is an issue, but I would suggest that you would get a scooter with at least 10 inch pneumatic tires, The one that you have a picture of has 8 inch solid wheels with plastic tires doesn’t have her any traction. I would suggest to invest a little more money on a nine bot max. They’re about $600-$800 and they’re very reliable.. they have one single hub motor and they go about 18 to 22 mph if want. Something faster that’s due a motor get a Dual Tron.
r/ElectricScooters • I live downtown in San Diego, yay or nay? I’ve never owned an electric scooter. Huge concern of theft ->Segway Ninebot Max. Get the G30 or a refurb if you can't afford the highest version. These are excellent commuter scooters. Also look at NIU scooters too. If you can, try to save up a bit more for something in the $800-900 range. You won't be paying for gas, maintenance, insurance, or parking. So it's going to be a massive deal Gotrax is okay.
r/ElectricScooters • Best electric scooter for daily work commute? ->I’d go with the [Segway Ninebot](https://www.reddit.com/r/Calidad_Precio/comments/1j2ltqy/best_electric_scooters_for_college_in_2025/). It’s got great range, solid speed, and rides super smooth. Perfect for getting around campus without worrying about charging all the time. Check out [this post.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Calidad_Precio/comments/1j2ltqy/best_electric_scooters_for_college_in_2025/) Hope is helpful! :D
r/ElectricScooters • Best e-scooter for a college student ->Depending on your weight, and how hilly Ann Arbor is, I'd probably aim for a cheaper dual motor scooter - the Inmotion climber or the Kaabo Mantis 8 both come to mind. If you're lighter, or mostly in flat area, the Segway Ninebot line has a lot of happy users. You mention you're not handy - I'd advise learning just a little bit of maintenance on the scooter, since it really is easy to do and you don't have much else protecting you on one! Basic stuff like wiping it down when it gets dirty and checking/filling tire pressure will go a long way. You can pick up a cheap electronic air compressor that doubles as a power bank to help with that, and every manufacturer should have videos or writeups on regular maintenance. The big problem is that, unlike a bike, you probably don't have a shop you can take it to for repairs near you - even if there's a bike shop with ebike repairs, they don't necessarily service scooters too.
r/ElectricScooters • Best e scooter for 21 year old college student looking to zip around Ann Arbor. (Cyber Monday deals appreciated) ->If it's just to commute to work get a Segway ninebot or NIU like most people.
r/ElectricScooters • First time looking into E-Scooters, need help and recommendations. ->Ninebot is made by Segway. It’s branded. I also love my ninebot.
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->Lots of used segway g30's and g2's on the market since the g3 shipped this week. My advice, save an extra 100 and pick up one of those, or come up with a good sob story and try to sweet talk one for 200 lol
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->My first scooter was max g30 for 400. I test drove it and inspected it prior to purchase, and it still works perfectly after moderate usage and zero maintenance. Buying new is great, but if we're trying to extract max value per dollar, the used market will win in this price range. That is, of course, assuming you possess the bare minimum skill set to prevent yourself from being ripped off.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->Bout 14 on Sport limited to 20mph Daily commute mostly flat with one steep climb at the end of the return trip. The hill totally stops my G30 but the G3 maintains speed all the way up and loses 3mph on the last few yards at the highest steepest part.
r/ElectricScooters • Just bought a Segway Ninebot E2 Pro, turns out that was the wrong choice ->If you can bump up the budget the Segway G30LP will be a good one to set him for the next few years. You could also go for the G30 Max to future proof if he needs more distance or climb higher gradients (motor is better and battery is twice the range). Both models are reliable, easy to maintain and replacement parts are readily available, affordable to buy and change yourself. Just ensure they do regular maintenance checks, don’t run the battery down below 15-20% where possible, keep psi topped up and have him wear a helmet as minimum safety gear. You can also control speeds via the dedicated app too. FWIW, I recently did an analysis on Reddit data for electric scooters, ranking them by aggregated sentiment. Maybe you'll find it helpful [https://redditrecs.com/electric-scooter/](https://redditrecs.com/electric-scooter/) You can filter for what's good for hills and get a breakdown of what ppl have said about the most often recommended ones (disclaimer some links are affiliate they help fund the analyses)
r/ElectricScooters • Electric Scooter for 12 year old ->I use segway G30 because it’s easier to bring it on the CTA if i need to. No suspension tho and it doesn’t go faster than 18 mph (lime and divvy scooter maxes out at around 15 mph, so consider how you’ll feel when you fall off your scooter at higher rate of speed - in other words, your pain tolerance level). I have two helmets, ones without shield for my eyes and one with (for windy days, for rain, for bugs, etc).
r/AskChicago • I’m looking to buy an electric scooter. Any recommendations? What type of helmet is best? ->Without a doubt the g30 I will give a few reasons why I go for the g30. 1. Easily order spare parts 2. Many performance options. 3. Extremely high quality to price ratio 4. Actually the largest/most reliable e-scooter brand on the market. The Segway G30 can also go 45 kmph with custom SHFW, and the Segway G30 uses a peak power wattage of 1400W with SHFW. Have a nice day!
r/ElectricScooters • Which scooter is better? ->Segway Ninebot g30 is a good reliable scooter should be able to get for around that price. Any scooter you find that does 30+ mph at that price range will be a death trap. Start off getting really good and confident with a normal scooter at normal speeds before you start chasing high speed specs. At 20 on a scooter you can do some serious damage still and feels fast.
r/ElectricScooters • Scooters in winter compared to bikes ->My G30 does pretty well on hills
r/ElectricScooters • Just bought a Segway Ninebot E2 Pro, turns out that was the wrong choice ->Avoid gotrax like syphilis. Ninebot g30 is what you want.
r/ElectricScooters • Review on Gotrax XR Elite Max ->Those are barely serviceable, better get a used Ninebot G30
r/ElectricScooters • Opinions on maxshot scooter ->I paid 70€ for my G30, included with delivery, but that wasn't my first one. I owned a couple more and can't name a better scooter for its price and reliability
r/ElectricScooters • Opinions on maxshot scooter ->How do I do this? I have a g30 I use to commute but the range isn’t good enough. Is there a guide I can use to help me learn how to better make it fit my needs?
r/ElectricScooters • E-scooter Reviews - Entry Level Suspension ->Makes sense. Glad to see this list! Most people are just looking for a reliable daily commuter, g30 fits the bill. 9bot G2 for the same thing but with unreliable roads. I wonder how long it'll take the G3 to make it up this list?
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year ->Segway G30. Reliable, solid construction, easy to repair/find replacement parts etc. You can control your speed via the app too. You can look at Inmotion Air if it’s still on sale too. Nui’s are popular (Kqi 100p, Nui Kqi2 Pro etc) but they’re OEM for part replacements and are a pain if you ever need to change tires. Consider if you’re needing to lock it up outside too, as nothing is foolproof from being stolen or withstanding the elements (mainly rain). Otherwise a bike might be a safer option.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a college student under 600? ->Segway G30lp is probably the best option. If she plans on riding longer distances with you/her friends etc as she’s older, then you could look at the G30. The new F3 could be another option (unsure on US prices for it though). Segway’s are easy to maintain and parts availability is great. Niu’s do great models (Kqi 100P, Kqi Pro 2 etc) too but the repairs are trickier and parts are pretty much exclusively from them (usually have to ship it to them, or find an authorised service centre).
r/ElectricScooters • My 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome. ->Segway G30 should be good for them. Or the Nui Kqi 2 Pro. If riding over 12-15kmh, full face helmet and gloves *minimum* protection too. Can always upgrade to suspension/dual motors once they’re older and have more experience.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a teen ->Segway G30lp will be one of the best options for them for the next 2-3yrs. You could push on to the G30 Max to future proof if they need more distance or climb higher gradients (motor is better and battery is twice the range) & would have decent value retention too. Both models are super reliable, easy to maintain and replacement parts are readily available, affordable to buy and change yourself. - *Just ensure they do regular maintenance checks, don’t run the battery down below 15-20% where possible, keep psi topped up (Xiaomi Air 2 compressor is the best portable unit) and wear a helmet as minimum safety gear. You can also control speeds via the dedicated app too.*
r/ElectricScooters • Scooter recs for large 12 year olds that can handle a hill ->No Get a used Ninebot G30
r/ElectricScooters • Is this worth buying? (Isinwheel electric scooter S9 MAX) brand new in box. ->Agree with all of this. 20 miles on my G30 is about an hour or a little more of riding, which is plenty on a scooter.
r/ElectricScooters • scooters with the best range that aren’t incredibly expensive ->Meh, usually bad reviews are people with limited scooter knowledge and ability. Plus the Chinese scooters take any battery drop in..... So you can build one like I did with my hacked ninebot g30 and then run at variable vintage and capacities. Currently using the g30 with m365 pro 2 brain and 500W motor. Overvolted to 50V with a 12v booster pack I can connect. Extended base with 3D printed ring and it fits a 12s10 battery and the m365 brain mounted inside. Dual after market suspension and at one point ran it dual motor. I'm about 215 lbs currently and the scooter is about 45 lbs. Easily get up to 30 mph with plenty of pull and minimal overheating (the board has been upgraded with larger capacitors just in case) and heatsinked to the chassis. Scooter used was a few hundred bucks, batteries about 2-300$ and other random parts and connectors about 50$. The time is all you need to create an absolute monster.... I rode at the beach the other day about 6 miles and it only dropped to 85 percent.... Smart bms tracks overall charge and individual cell bank charge. With a lil ingenuity he could have a real tank for cheap
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter under $1,900, speed+30mph, range+55miles, lightweight, reliable ? ->**Observational point:** lots here on Reddit that, 'Segway is the best, the very best, the mother-fucking best' talking points.' As others have pointed out, Segway 'influencers' and other narcs are here posting about Segway. Just an FYI. In advance, I like Segway, but its your Mom's scooter. Practical. Safe. Maintenance. Regulation. Dad doing all the work to keep this 1978 Chevy Monte Carlo on the road. **Segway Ninebot G30** **Summary:** More family friendly. Better for big and heavy riders (250 - 260 pounds). Like a minivan with decent offroad capability (the air tires are the key here). Bigger (deck is longer and wider than most competitive scooters). **Manufacturer software mandates:** can be / are a hassle -- regulation by the manufacturer. Air tires, but no shock absorbers and/or deck springs. **BUT!** be prepared for daily and monthly maintenance. Motor is in the back tire. Notable: **0. Durable (9/10**): good for hard, bump roads. Cinder paths (eg jogging paths); fresh cut grass (eg golf course fairways; some dirt roads that are packed. Cobble stones are A-OK (if bumpy; very doable). Also, easily to ride 2 people: 1 man; 1 woman work okay, provided you aren't overweight (eg not a chubby Georgia couple). an adult and a pre-puberty child works very well. **1. air tires:** checking these constantly. If you live an urban environment with rough roads (eg Boston; NYC) you may want air tires (softer ride), but you trade off with maintenance. Check daily. Buy a portable electric air pump (looks like a walkie talkie and costs \~$50 USD) **2. slow quickness:** Segways are not quick off the line. They are more like a big labrador retriever, and take some time to hit max speed. In city environments, it is in your best interest to plan well ahead. Maybe stick to the bike lane, if you're an anxious type. **3. braking:** the regenerative braking is ALWAYS coupled to analog braking (which is poor unless one keeps on top of maintenance; if you ride your brake, with regular commuting (5x a week), you will go through brakes every 3 months. Braking requires >30% more distance than Hiboy **4. controllers:** the electronic speed controller (ESC). Segway ESCs are famous for melting down and/or short-circuiting. Older Segways (pre 2019) were able to be hacked (ScooterHack app) and flash any new controller. New Segways require purchasing from Segway - China or a Segway approved repair shop (NYC has 2). Just a way of introducing that Segway - China has your Segway scooter in a big ol' database and you gotta deal with them if the ESC shits the bed. They track both the serial number (SN) on your scooter and ***match it*** to the ESC's SN. Its part of an anti-theft system that is ***regulated from China***. Ahem. The customer service is okay, but not fast. Be sure you have some tech game, and be patient. **5. tl; dr:** Segways -- and particularly Ninebots -- are reliable, if not quick (top speed is reached, but will take a bit), high maintenance scooters (to maintain daily performance) that require patience in the long term. **Be PREPARED TO DEAL WITH CHINA - BEIJING SEGWAY HQ.** We -- wife and I -- commute our 2 kids (10; 12 years) on our 2 Segways. My wife loves her. But, I am the maintenance donkey.
r/ElectricScooters • New to scooters - Hiboy? ->**Hiboy S2 Pro** **Summary:** Less software, less regulation by the manufacturer. Lower maintenance, but smaller deck. Good for 220-250 pounds (but tighten the horizontal deck / shock absorber springs). Very, very quick. Great regenerative breaking. Hard tires, harder ride. Lighter (about 5 pounds lighter at \~34 pounds and smaller frame - 4 inches shorter in deck length; -1.5 inches in deck with -- than Segway Ninebot). Motor is in the front tire. Much lighter compared to Segway (see point on the stem below under durable). Notable: **0. Durable (8/10):** We have had 2 HiBoy S2 Pros. We put >3,200 miles on the first and the second is at \~1,500 miles. With 1st one, I beat the heck outta. Ultimately, the stem cracked off (NB: 2022-2023 HiBoy S2 Pros. Some had a structural issue with the aluminum stem snapping off from the steel post. Ours did. Google it. Its a thing. Anyhow, HiBoy replaced it with a 2024 model. No issues thus far. **1. tires:** standard are solid tires. No punctures. Low maintenance. Hard riding. And slick in the rain. Requires greater awareness when riding. But, no punctures. Solid tires also wear out. But, normally its just the front tire (where the motor is), every spring. Good for city streets, but not cobbles. Cinder paths, and packed dirt roads, but not grass. Watch out for rainy days - go slow. **2. Quick:** 3x quicker than a comparable Segway. Responsive. Easier to maneuver. Like a jack rabbit that also can go the distance. **3. Braking: excellent.** Very, very, very excellent. Very, very responsive. Regenerative braking is the best. Stops very quickly; blows Segway away. Helpful in city environments with cars. On mine, I never use the analog brake. 4. controllers: no **issues.** No heavy regulation by the manfacturer. And, they aren't 'matched' to the scooter SN. **tl;dr:** I prefer the Highboys. My wife prefers the Segway. I like the Highboy quickness and responsiveness. (especially in NYC with cars, pedestrians, etc). But, smaller: harder to ride 2 people. My wife and I can do it, but I put a metal carrier over the back wheel. My sons are too short for the carrier. So, only the youngest (10 fits on the deck; the 12 year old aged out). Also: lower maintenance and no ad hoc 'surprises' like flat tires when one is commuting or its raining, or anything. AND: no manufacturer regulation like the Segways **(and the world the way it is now -- may be an issue down the road).**
r/ElectricScooters • New to scooters - Hiboy? ->I use a ninebot g30 for daily commute from parking to office, bought it 2nd hand and it's very easy to repair cz their site shows all the details and parts are easily available. Battery is solid and longest I have done is 48km on a full charge, and it still had some juice left. Also these things are stupid fast, they can reach 30kmh, which is much higher than bicycle, so if you are going to travel 4km everyday definitely get a good helmet bicycle helmets are not rated for that speed :)
r/dubai • Planning to buy an electric scooter – need suggestions ->I settled for a used G30 thanks for your help
r/ElectricScooters • Is this worth buying? (Isinwheel electric scooter S9 MAX) brand new in box. ->I followed ur orders and got me a G30 🫡
r/ElectricScooters • Is this worth buying? (Isinwheel electric scooter S9 MAX) brand new in box. ->Segway g30 is pretty much the most durable thing out there apart from a 'repurpoused' rental scooter. Buy a $50 xiomi pump to keep the tires full and it will run for 5k with minimal maint. Larger/faster scooters arent really built better. Theyre faster and more powerful but easier to break
r/ElectricScooters • What are the MOST reliable E-scooters out there, with budget as less of a concern? ->Thats why I like my g30 so much. Its relatively small, light, and easy to carry. It can also fit a massive battery internally with a few mods
r/ElectricScooters • E-Scooters still as heavy and cumbersome as in 2020 ->As long as its not your sole mode of transportation anything should work. Now if it would be your daily driver and you don’t want to collect unemployment just yet you might consider something reliable like a segway g30 max.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->Most notable area that rusts are the motors. Segway max g30 isn't your everyday average scooter since it was designed for the brutal rental market. We have seen them submerged in water for who knows how long and they still work. Crazy college kiddos
r/ElectricScooters • Scooters in winter compared to bikes ->"#3 says Segway Ninebot Max - there are at least 3 different basic versions of the Max (G2, G30 and G30LP) and then a lot of different regional versions. also Niu doesn't show the specific model and there are a few... you should differentiate more in your list.
