Kind of a waste of a rating, ups and down votes on reddit isn't a reliable indicator of quality/availability, esp when only using amazon. Further, it really depends on the person riding, why it's being used, and the conditions people are riding in. Person riding - are they young/old, heavy/light, speed demons/cautious. Why? - commuter/recreation Conditions - rain/wet/snow/off-road/trail/roads/dirt/etc.. Different scooters are going to be used for different purposes. The kind of hills someone is riding on can also make a massive difference. So scooters are going to struggle with the easiest of inclines. For example - Ninebot g30 struggles with even the tiniest hills, mine drops quickly to 9mph and below on a minor incline. Whereas the g2 will cruise up it with no too much issue. If you're a commuter riding in the winter, how well does it handle rain? G30 has seemingly zero issues in the rain, even near downpour, others will likely short out. Some, battery compartment is solid against rain, but stem....not so much. Knowing these things are really what help people buy scooters, not some arbitrary reddit like/dislike
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed the 20 most recommended electric scooters on Reddit ->meh, speed isn't everything. I'd rather have something reliable that I know is going to work every time I turn it on, and it's affected by things like rain. That said, Segways are extremely reliable, g30p is about $600 now, G2Max has been available recently for $799 and it adds suspension and little higher top speed as well as blinkers. The f2pro might hit that $500ish price point too.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a college student under 600? ->Depends on the overall budget though. College students don't necessarily want to sent or have the money to spend on a higher end scooter, esp when there are decent dependable scooters that may not go 50mph with a range of 90 miles. College students are going to have issues of storage and theft as primary concerns. So spending over $1k for something that could easily grt stolen makes zero sense. You're really better of getting something that is cheaper and reliable and speed doesn't have to be king nor does everyone want speed to be king. Add that it has zero to do with masculinity as you're trying to make it put to be. You're not a little girl if you don't want to go 50mph+, you just want a quicker commute and do it safely. Some people have balance issues and the faster you go the more dangerous it becomes. So something like those entry/mid level segways are amazing options because they aren't made for speed but dependability. And no, it doesn't have to be a tradeoff, but often times is.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a college student under 600? ->at what point do you think I'm the OP? My experience and a lot of peoples that for the money, the Segways are some of the most dependable on the market and aren't built for speed. Some people are going to really like that aspect of it. Probably esp a college student on a budget.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a college student under 600? ->58 and own a Segway g30p, also about 240lbs, so I'm right in your territory. I've been a bike/esk8/ebike commuter for around 10yrs, ditched my car and haven't looked back. I don't miss driving at all. Sure some days suck in the pacific northwest, but overall my commutes are just better and more pleasant than when I was driving. Let's face it, riding in the rain sucks whether you're in a car or on a scooter. That said, the reason I got the scooter I did was because it was from a known quality manufacturer, essentially waterproof, and had decent range. I do run errands, grocery shopping, etc... I've had zero issues doing so. But newsflash, scooters really aren't for tricks the way onewheels or eucs are. The ninebot g30p also isn't the fastest scooter or have shock absorbers either. But I'm okay with that. The tradeoff for the range and waterproof more than make up for it, esp for the price. Side notes: at our weight, you're not going to get 40miles on it, probably closer to 20. It doesn't do great on hills since it has a single motor, but adequate. Even the tiny hills I ride, I drop to 12mph pretty quickly. But for just cruising around parks to get outside and enjoy, you don't need a hyper scooter. Sometimes I do wish I could go a little faster, but also realize the slower speed makes it safer to navigate and ride in parks around people. Going too fast, while fun, can be dangerous, esp if you're not used to the routes or just riding in general. I've pretty much shelved my esk8 because it could go 35mph+, just started to feel like it encouraged me to go faster than I realistically should. So I'm comfortable with the speed, just have on some earbuds and listen to podcasts and enjoy it.
r/ElectricScooters • Questions for riders over 40 years old ->Honestly, if you've ever ridden a bike, you can ride a scooter. If you've ever skateboarded, you can ride a scooter, and every easily. If you're unsure, hit your downtown corridor and find a rental. It takes like 2 minutes or less to get comfortable. That said, if you find you like the ride and you know you're gonna use it, don't buy a starter, it's just a waste of money. Speed modes can regulate how fast you go, so you can always leave it on a lower setting until you're fully comfortable. All this means is buy a well built, quality scooter that will last. And by that I don't mean something like a dualtron ultra that's $3k+. Segway ninebot max is under $1k and that's more than enough for most people.
r/ElectricScooters • Seriously, buy a starter scooter. ->Honestly, if you've ever ridden a bike, you can ride a scooter. If you've ever skateboarded, you can ride a scooter, and every easily. r/ElectricScooters • Seriously, buy a starter scooter. ->To be honest from what I've seen, basically every scooter brand has the same issues, or at least some models that do. Segway is well respected, but even but some of their scooters have notable problems, such as the P100S. The reason the G30P is so popular is because its unusually reliable, as if Segway overengineered it by mistake. The stem and neck are thicker than some scooters capable of double its speed. I was shocked when I compared it side by side with my other scooter (Apollo ghost, aka VDM-10) and noticed how much more robust some parts are, despite being a much slower scooter. I don't think there are any higher performance models that really reach the level of reliability of the G30P at this moment, and I feel that the industry needs to change to better prioritize safety and the robustness of critical parts like the stem, neck, and suspension components. One of the issues causing things to break for multiple brands, is the use of very cheap, low grade bolts. For my Ghost as an example, they've had stem breaks. It turns out the stem bolt is a very low grade of steel. Many owners of them, such as myself, have upgraded that bolt to a proper high grade, and haven't had any problems since. Another issue is water resistance.. One of the things the G30 also does very well, lending further to its reputation of reliability. It's possible to waterproof a scooter though, with the correct supplies (motor varnish, silicone, liquid electrical tape etc) so that can be fixed. I think the only way to ensure a truly reliable scooter is to upgrade it, replacing/fixing the areas where manufacturers tend to cut corners or cheap out on stuff. Some manufacturers such as Apollo have been facing lawsuits in recent times, so I'm hoping the threat of legal action will make manufacturers start to care more. So to answer your question: If money was no object, I'd probably buy an InMotion RS, a Weped FF, Wolf King GTR, Teverun Supreme 7260R or something in the same vein, because their performance is incredible.. but I'd still be ready to fix things. Or actually.. If money was no object I'd probably have a local CNC shop make me a custom design, and go VESC. Full DIY with extra attention paid to critical areas. Ebikes are a bit more reliable than scooters (they've been around longer and have more things standardized), so if you're cool with a bike instead, it may be a smarter choice (for now til things improve)
r/ElectricScooters • Got my first NUI scooter a couple weeks ago from Best Buy ($650) and am returning it tomorrow. Which option should I go with for something to rip around on bike paths and my neighborhood ?? ->I use a Niu for commuting and trips out to BK/Astoria like the back third of your trip. The Segway would also fit the bill here. 300lb weight capacity is a tough sell - most scooters top out at 265ish. Similarly, the RFK bridge ramp is a pain, since the bike assist infrastructure is minimal and very bike-focused so a scooter's smaller tires and lower-set profile can cause issues going up/down the stairs. [KQI 300x 23mph](https://shop.niu.com/collections/electric-scooter/products/niu-kqi-300x-electric-scooter) [KQI Air X - lighter, stiffer, lower top speed (20mph), but easier to manage the stairs with](https://shop.niu.com/collections/electric-scooter/products/niu-kqi-air-x-lightest-electric-scooter) [You see this recco everywhere, the ninebot max - 19mph max but will have difficulty managing 300lbs + slopes](https://store.segway.com/ninebot-kickscooter-max)
r/ElectricScooters • Overwhelmed by options - Help me choose a reliable e-scooter for my NYC commute! ->3000+ miles on Segway Max G30. Only repair this far has been the front wheel bearing change. Simple and built like a tank.
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed the 20 most recommended electric scooters on Reddit ->G30P
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed the 20 most recommended electric scooters on Reddit ->Do not consider a ninebot ES4 or F40. Definitely see if you can find a used ninebot g30p off the classifieds if you can
r/ElectricScooters • Recommendations for a light commuter scooter that can handle hills? ->G30p has a larger battery then the g30lp. The g30p has a built in charger which comes in handy since you won’t ever have to worry about carrying your charger with you just a cable.
r/ElectricScooters • Recommendations for a light commuter scooter that can handle hills? ->Ebike is safer, but probably more expensive overall because of maintenance costs. Escooters are so simple, not many things can break or wear down and they are more portable because you can take them indoors easily and fit to smaller spaces. Longer range not necessary true anymore because some shops sell battery packs for some common escooters like Ninebot Max / G30, so if you can spend $1500, then you can get 900Wh battery pack for Max which already has 550Wh. Max can take rain unless you submerge it. Winter probably is too much on the longer run, so ebike wins there definitely.

r/ElectricScooters • Electric scooter vs cheap ebike ->Get a Segway g30p and call it a day, I'm 6'2 220, and it was my first scooter, and I love it. Over 800 miles with no mechanical issues whatsoever.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for 250 to 265 pounds Under $700 ->Segway Ninebot Max. Get the G30 or a refurb if you can't afford the highest version. These are excellent commuter scooters. Also look at NIU scooters too. If you can, try to save up a bit more for something in the $800-900 range. You won't be paying for gas, maintenance, insurance, or parking. So it's going to be a massive deal Gotrax is okay.
r/ElectricScooters • Best electric scooter for daily work commute? ->Angle grinder in frame is wild. Jokes aside (I hope) you'll need to get a much more robust scooter than an M365 clone. I had a xiaomi pro 2 (the original model of your knockoff) for 3 years. Even when unlocked, speed was around 32kph for a 55kg rider on flat to slight inclines. I should also mention that 10km journey drained the battery by about 25% (75% remaining). Your battery range is very poor. You're better off buying a new scooter as a new battery will likely cost more than your current scooter is worth. 32kph is a modest speed. You could try getting a ninebot g30p (799USD new) -. Escooters actually retain their resale value fairly well. You'd likely be able to resell it for anywhere between 60-75% of the price you paid for it new. If you cannot afford the additional $400 of your current battery budget, try to find one on the second hand market. They should be fairly common as many scooter users upgrade from commuters fairly quickly.
r/ElectricScooters • Commuting scooter ->Something to note about escooters is that tire changes are a nightmare especially if you're looking at commuter escooters. My experience with a Xiaomi pro 2 was that I loved it, till I had to change the tires. Even an escooters shop that was supposed to specialise in xiaomis didn't fit the tire properly. That said, I would choose the Xiaomi again if you don't mind a dealing with tire changes. alternatively the ninebot G30 is kind of like a more expensive but slightly better in every way - slightly larger battery, 10in tires, more waterproof. I would go for an ebike if I had more space in the house to store it.
r/perth • Electric Scooter for Commuting in Perth- advice please. ->skip F-series, get Max G2, Max G30 or used Max G30 based on your budget and requirements.
r/ElectricScooters • I want to buy my first electric scooter: Segway Ninebot F2 Pro ? 🫶 ->G30 is not 7 kg heavier, build quality of the G30 is far superior than F-series
r/ElectricScooters • I want to buy my first electric scooter: Segway Ninebot F2 Pro ? 🫶 ->G30 is the most durable scooter on the market. It was originally built for the rental market.
r/ElectricScooters • I want to buy my first electric scooter: Segway Ninebot F2 Pro ? 🫶 ->The G3's battery is a bit bigger than the G30's but the scooter is so much more powerful that range is drastically reduced.
r/ElectricScooters • Commuter Scooter? ->I have my used Max G30P (driven about 2000mi) on Craigslist for $200. This is not an offer to sell you mine, but a suggestion that a similar deal could also easily exist in your area.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->Already completed the recall repair, so I'm not sure that is materially relevant.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->I take my Ninebot G30P to campus. No issues and easy maintenance. Just check the tire pressure every week and wipe it off. I would order from amazon in case u get a defective scooter, since it took me 2 weeks to get a new one from segway themselves after I had an issue.
r/ElectricScooters • Best e scooter for 21 year old college student looking to zip around Ann Arbor. (Cyber Monday deals appreciated) ->3333333 edit: but see if you can find a deal on g30p. better imo
r/ElectricScooters • Help me choose a Segway scooter! ->If it's on sale, I think that's hands down the best option OP could pick. It's like a Max G30P, but to get one of those at this price, it'd have to be refurbished.
r/ElectricScooters • What's the best electric scooter for a 20-30 min commute within $300-500ish range? ->$400-500 range definitely has a couple good options. I agree spending $700+ will get you way more bang for your buck and something that'll last a while before wanting to upgrade, but as long as you aren't in say the $200-300 range you can still get something good. Refurbished Max G30 or KQI 2 pro are not terrible scooters by any means.
r/ElectricScooters • What's the best electric scooter for a 20-30 min commute within $300-500ish range? ->Ninebot G30 or G2 are hands down the easiest to mod. Just flash with custom firmware like SHU (scooter hacking utility) and you can do whatever the hell you'd like.. THe interal hardware has a LOT of headroom for turning things up. Controller can easily handle continuous 30amps, up to 35-40a (with peaks of 60a+). And field weakening will push the top speed at the expense of torque (acceleration/hill climbing). They are locked down if they are running past 1.4.6 firmware though, if it is running that firmware or below you can simply use bluetooth to flash it, otherwise you need an "ST-Link" and connect it to the controller to flash new firmware
r/ElectricScooters • Best e Scooter to Mod, i want: Stabilty, modding up to 40-50kmh, good battery life with a good Range, modding should Not hang outside the Scooter Like some do ! It dosen‘t have to be the Most expansive one either be the cheapest ! ->Don't buy random no name scooters on amazon lol. Stick with bigger names like niu, segway, gotrax, inmmotion. For that price I would get a segway G30 or an inmmotion climber. The G2 max would be much better if you can stretch your budget a little higher. It has great suspension, which I think on a scooter with small tires is essential for comfy riding. I personally wouldn't buy a scooter without suspension, but a lot of people don't mind. An unspoken benefit of suspension is it also puts a lot less stress on the welded/bolted frame. I got mine for $900 on amazon, i've put 500 miles on it in the month i've owned it and it's been great. Under $900-1000 you're not gonna find many reliable scooters with suspension besides segway/gotrax. If you can go even higher than that, a vsett or nami would be dank too.
r/ElectricScooters • Got my first NUI scooter a couple weeks ago from Best Buy ($650) and am returning it tomorrow. Which option should I go with for something to rip around on bike paths and my neighborhood ?? ->g30p with sharkset and a flash
r/ElectricScooters • Segway G2 Max vs ZT3 Pro ->g30p with sharkset and a flash
r/ElectricScooters • Segway G2 Max vs ZT3 Pro ->g30p with sharkset and a flash
r/ElectricScooters • Segway G2 Max vs ZT3 Pro ->g30p with sharkset and a flash
r/ElectricScooters • Segway G2 Max vs ZT3 Pro ->Segway G30. Reliable, solid construction, easy to repair/find replacement parts etc. You can control your speed via the app too. You can look at Inmotion Air if it’s still on sale too. Nui’s are popular (Kqi 100p, Nui Kqi2 Pro etc) but they’re OEM for part replacements and are a pain if you ever need to change tires. Consider if you’re needing to lock it up outside too, as nothing is foolproof from being stolen or withstanding the elements (mainly rain). Otherwise a bike might be a safer option.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a college student under 600? ->Segway G30lp is probably the best option. If she plans on riding longer distances with you/her friends etc as she’s older, then you could look at the G30. The new F3 could be another option (unsure on US prices for it though). Segway’s are easy to maintain and parts availability is great. Niu’s do great models (Kqi 100P, Kqi Pro 2 etc) too but the repairs are trickier and parts are pretty much exclusively from them (usually have to ship it to them, or find an authorised service centre).
r/ElectricScooters • My 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome. ->Segway G30 should be good for them. Or the Nui Kqi 2 Pro. If riding over 12-15kmh, full face helmet and gloves *minimum* protection too. Can always upgrade to suspension/dual motors once they’re older and have more experience.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a teen ->Get the G30P with the bigger battery. The rentals here are slightly faster than mine but it still goes fast enough (32kmh).
r/ElectricScooters • Does segway ninebot have better acceleration than lime scooter in LA ? ->58 this year, Live on a boat, East coast of Oz. G30P, Wide wheel pro, King GT, GTpro. Bell FF, Alpine B-armour and O'neil pads, Kevlar jeans. I never thought at my age I'd be riding around on a weapon like these fast scooters we got now but here I am.
r/ElectricScooters • Questions for riders over 40 years old ->In all honesty my friend as a heavy rider my self of 285lbs i recommend you save up at least $2,000.00 to get a Dual Motor scooter anything with a 18Amp hour battery or higher will get you want you need as long as it has dual motors with minimum 500 watts or Nominal power for each motor. You can also take a long at the Caroma Lightning. Which is a Dual 800 watt Motor scoorer and can handle heavy riders. However ive yet to try one foe my self as i also have their budget friendly Caroma E66 Pro which is like an inexpensive version of the Segway Max G30 but no single motor scooter will get you around in SF. Unless you are living and working around a flat surface road. 🙏 i hope you are able to find a good scooter for your needs.
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for cheapest scooter I can get that can take hills (I’m 240lbs) ->For the scooter: get a secondhand or reman G30. But please do not doubleride on a scooter. This is dangerous. It has nothing to do with GVWR or the scooter itself being structurally overloaded unless the scooter is a piece of unsafe junk to begin with, it's about how having a second human on a scooter can really throw the driver's equilibrium off and could cause a bad crash. Just get 2 scooters. As formerly a broke college student: just spend a bit extra to secure yourself 2 craigslist G30s, the money you will save by buying cheapazon chinesium clone specials is nothing in the scheme of college student-ing, and in a few years you will be glad nothing on your G30s has failed and cancelled out your investment. You'll probably want to keep riding, and if not you can always sell a good scooter.
r/ElectricScooters • Electric Scooter for 2 people Recommendation ->G30 platform. Track down a real SNSC 2.0 commercial scooter or else remove folding garbage and put aftermarket or OEM SNSC rigid clamp on a civvie G30. Remove stock control gear and insert into junk bin; start over and set up power system however you wish, to do whatever you wish your scooter to do. It's a classic and a weapon. Can't go too wrong, good luck trying to break shit on one and cheap very available parts if you do. Only thing better if you are going to hoon and hooligan (Jumping, wheelies, boofing curbs, whatnot and hitting the ground is rough service/abuse, no way around this, some posters on here are kind of no-fun/nerfed world people and going to roast you for considering it OK to get air with an electric scooter), would be to eschew "modern era" aluminum frames for a steelie. Some of the good candidates are older rigs like Razor E series, Bladez and Go-Ped and so on, some are modern era ones like Nius (which are "rarely modded" because of the firmware flashing kiddies not having an easy picking out of them but have good bones) and RWD variants of Segway F bots. Generally with steel frames, non-brittle (safer) failures when overloaded. Also, being steel, a lot easier to fix, mod/reinforce, etc. without needing TIG and aluminum welding skills with one if you do cause carnage. Chain/belt drives on older scooters keeping the stock rear wheel, with small high speed motors (like 63 or 80 series outrunners) can be very performant, just high maintenance and noisy. Of course direct drive motors can be fitted to any of those frames too. What not to hoon, well be suspicious of any Chinese jagged looking parts-bin hobby grade scooter, like, well, Kaabos. There is often something dodgy going on in the front fork and/or frame neck area which could fail catastrophically in a way that causes a major accident if you beat the tar out of these. Such as steerer shaft/fork fractures, necks that are castings or otherwise have fatigue/cracking issues, and deck structures that are insufficient and fatigue crack near the neck (most commonly when the neck bolts onto the deck with a flange).
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for an E-scooter to do more jumps ->You're going to need to park at every house. It takes zero effort to raise and lower a kickstand with your foot, and they all have kickstands. What's a normal day look like? How far do you need to go? How many hours are you out there on it? What do you plan on using the scooter for once you've found a real job(lol)? The battery is the most expensive part. Finding a new scooter at that price point that has the range you might need is probably going to be an issue for that reason. The first thing that comes to mind is looking for a used Segway g30p. It's a very reliable scooter with good range, but it isn't very exciting, and it doesn't have suspension.
r/ElectricScooters • An electric scooter to door hang in neighborhoods ->Your dreaming of you think a es3 is going anywhere near 28 miles on a charge If you go slow and take it easy you’ll get 18-20 miles max out of it that’s when the weather is warm out and. Flat smooth riding surface no headwinds a good rule of thumb on any electric scooter is to reduce claimed range by a minimum of 1/3 that’s if your not going real heavy on the. Throttle and riding as fast as it will go . If you want a scooter that will give a range of 28 miles go with a Segway max g30p it’ll cost you more initially but will last far longer due to Less charging cycles being used and the ride quality of 10 inch tubeless tires and it’s longer wheelbase makes it a far safer scooter to ride 8 inch solid tires are ok for a few miles short trips but will beat you to Death after that the Segway es3 is not a very stable scooter I own one that I use for short trips to grab a few groceries whenever I ride it I think To myself this thing is a dangerous death trap I have multiple scooters that range from the Segway es1 with an added external battery making it effectively a es3 all the way to my Nami burn e max . There is a saying buy nice or buy twice which winds up costing you more than had you just sprung for the better scooter to begin with . Also get a helmet full face bare minimum .
r/ElectricScooters • Are electric scooters worth it? ->I’d recommend the Segway max g30p as it’s a well proven design it’s well built fairly water resistant and parts are plentiful for it it has 10inch self sealing tubeless tires so flats are a rare thing . 10 inch tires are far safer than the 8inch solid tires found on many other scooters it has a real world range of 28 miles so it can go a fair ways before needing to be recharged it’s $799 at Best Buy though it can be found for less on eBay bigger batteries will last longer as they don’t need to be recharged as often and the cells are better quality in the Segway having a lifecycle of 500 cycles opposed to around 300 cycles on the really cheap scooters it’s a scooter that Will last her 4-5 years more than long enough for her to gain experience before moving to a faster more powerful dual motor scooter as most people wind up doing eventually. Get her a full faced helmet as it will save supporting your local dentist & or plastic surgeon should she fall and land Badly also get her a set of rechargeable lights that can be set to flashing helping to make her more visible knee and elbow pads are a good addition and will save on road rash should she fall a pair of hard knuckled motorcycle gloves are a good idea as well electric scooters are a fun and safe means of transportation provided the rider follows. The correct riding techniques . I hope that this was helpful for you and her .
r/ElectricScooters • My 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome. ->You could pick up a refurbished Segway max g30p for around $400 if you look around. Bit on eBay you can buy a new g30p For $495 + tax The max has a claimed range of 40 miles real world range is more like 28 . Its bigger battery means less recharging is required so the. Limited number of recharge cycles these batteries have will be slower to be exhausted. The g30p has plentiful parts available it’s also fairly water resistant meaning it will survive being caught in the rain it’s a well proven design it has 10inch self sealing tubeless tires so flats Are. a rare thing If I was looking for a well built reliable scooter at that price point it’s the one I would be getting .
r/ElectricScooters • What's the best electric scooter for a 20-30 min commute within $300-500ish range? ->Just be aware when you buy a scooter buying a cheap scooter with a small battery will require frequent charging That will burn through the limited number of charge cycles cheap scooters are also made with battery’s that are made with low quality cells that will have less charge cycles before becoming unusable 300 charge cycles with frequent charging vs a larger battery with 500charge cycles that doesn’t need charging all the time will last must longer spend the extra to get a bigger battery of higher quality it’s the difference between a scooter that will last 4-5 years or more or just one summer of riding a scooter such as the Segway max g30p is a good choice it has 10 inch tubeless tires which are far more reliable than tube tires 8 inch tires are too small to roll over lips pulling into parking lots and the solid tires will beat you to death it’s fairly water resistant and will survive being caught in a rainstorm parts availability is also good where with cheap scooters parts are nonexistent so if something goes wrong the scooter is just more e waste it has a claimed range of 40 miles 28 real world so you can also use it for riding recreationally get a full faced helmet hard knuckled gloves knee and elbow pads as new riders are prone to falling as they are learning and developing their riding skills
r/ElectricScooters • Best electric scooter for daily work commute? ->Range wise I was looking into something similar to the Ninebot Max G30 since that scooter moved me around in nyc and NJ. I only had to charge it once a week. Only thing is that it wasn’t that great on hills.
r/ElectricScooters • Commuter Scooter? ->NIU has some of the worst customer service I've encountered. Bought a segway g30p haven't looked back.
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for a scooter that will fit in my car. ->And the worst customer service in the scooter world. Have a Kqi air and they want me to send in the scooter halfway across canada for repair to replace a bolt because their handlebar / end cap / signal light design is faulty. They also won't take a return when this was broken from purchase. I went and bought a Ninebeot g30p with no issues, I still have the air cause they won't return it. The Air is slightly quicker , and lighter, but has like half the capacity of battery while staying it's roughly the same, and the customer service / signal light design flaw. I do like the scooter on its own, but I'll never buy another NIU because of the company and customer service I've recieved, which is essentially nothing, and some silly design choices. I am keeping it tho cause it's a fun scooter to ride, and I'm just gonna modify the handlebars / signal lights or take them off. I definately would NOT recommend a NIU for being sturdy and durable, especially to other competitors like Ninebot.
r/ElectricScooters • Does anyone know what brand is the lime scooters are, I would like to to own one of them, those scooters are very sturdy, I just want one that goes a little bit faster and can go up hills. ->I ride stuff like that on my high-mileage ninebot max, no problem.
r/ElectricScooters • How “capable” of an off-road scooter would I need for this drive way? ->I live in San Francisco, so potholes and terrain is an issue, but I would suggest that you would get a scooter with at least 10 inch pneumatic tires, The one that you have a picture of has 8 inch solid wheels with plastic tires doesn’t have her any traction. I would suggest to invest a little more money on a nine bot max. They’re about $600-$800 and they’re very reliable.. they have one single hub motor and they go about 18 to 22 mph if want. Something faster that’s due a motor get a Dual Tron.
r/ElectricScooters • I live downtown in San Diego, yay or nay? I’ve never owned an electric scooter. Huge concern of theft ->The Segway ninebot max is pretty much what you want.
r/ElectricScooters • Does anyone know what brand is the lime scooters are, I would like to to own one of them, those scooters are very sturdy, I just want one that goes a little bit faster and can go up hills. ->Lots of used segway g30's and g2's on the market since the g3 shipped this week. My advice, save an extra 100 and pick up one of those, or come up with a good sob story and try to sweet talk one for 200 lol
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->My first scooter was max g30 for 400. I test drove it and inspected it prior to purchase, and it still works perfectly after moderate usage and zero maintenance. Buying new is great, but if we're trying to extract max value per dollar, the used market will win in this price range. That is, of course, assuming you possess the bare minimum skill set to prevent yourself from being ripped off.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->If you can wait til BF, you'll normally get the best deals of the year. Got my son a Segway Max G30 last year for $520ish. The smaller Max G30LP was a little over $400 and change.
r/UCI • ELECTRIC SCOOTER RECOMMENDATIONS ->A ninebot g30lp/p isn’t heavy, I have a p and compared to my friends single motor 800w it’s lightwork going up 10-20 stairs, not easy but not hard
r/ElectricScooters • My 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome. ->I'm 42 and I LOVE MY SCOOTER. I bought it to get around campus at my university because the long walks across with a backpack were killing my back (and it takes like 20 mins each way just to walk where I nedded, I save a lot of time). I'm 160 lbs, 5'5", female. I don't wear any protection but I take it easy, no stunting and have not taken any falls. It's really easy, like a stand up bike. I bought a used Segway Max on FB marketplace and it's the best $300 I've ever spent. It folds down so I keep it I my trunk and just pull it out anywhere that I can use it. Have fun!
r/ElectricScooters • Questions for riders over 40 years old ->Would not downvote at all. This is very reasonable. I'm a scooter champion but it depends not so much on your age but your abilities and comfort level. I agree it's hard to carry anything with a scooter and wish I had a basket type deal. Scooter also requires more balance and physical agility. The benefit is that it's compact and light weight which is a little harder to find with an ebike for the same price. Did the dog at least lick your face? 😄🫠
r/ElectricScooters • Questions for riders over 40 years old ->Without a doubt the g30 I will give a few reasons why I go for the g30. 1. Easily order spare parts 2. Many performance options. 3. Extremely high quality to price ratio 4. Actually the largest/most reliable e-scooter brand on the market. The Segway G30 can also go 45 kmph with custom SHFW, and the Segway G30 uses a peak power wattage of 1400W with SHFW. Have a nice day!
r/ElectricScooters • Which scooter is better? ->If you can, buy a e-bike. Especially if you live off campus, scooters sucks at climbing hills. I would suggest g30 and g2 max from Segway. Just don’t update it and you’ll be fine.
r/PennStateUniversity • Electric Scooters ->How do I do this? I have a g30 I use to commute but the range isn’t good enough. Is there a guide I can use to help me learn how to better make it fit my needs?
r/ElectricScooters • E-scooter Reviews - Entry Level Suspension ->Segway MAX G30 is a proven, rugged, and simple design that works and has enough speed (19mph) and power for daily commuting use. It just works and not much to worry about. They are $599 now. The G2 is the next generation of this and is probably pretty great as well. I’d get one of those two over anything else. They are like the Civics of scooters.
r/ElectricScooters • Which one for a first scooter? ->you are not gona find a lightweight scooter that has suspension/range. look up Vsett 8 or Ninebot g2 max, if they are too heavy/bulky. go with the ninebot max, but no suspension (which isn’t a big deal IMO unless you commute long range daily).
r/ElectricScooters • Scooter 40lbs or Under Recommendations? ->In general single motor scooters are going to be limited on anything beyond moderate hills. The main challenge you have here is going to be the weight of the scooter, given that you have to transfer it from the boat to the dinghy to the dock, and then potentially carry it several hundred feet. For this reason I’d stay with the lightest possible weight scooter you can find and live with the limitations of hill climbing. Do your best to keep the ocean water away from these scooters. Water is bad enough but salt water will cause them to corrode very quickly. Turboant scooters are pretty low quality. I think you’ll probably ride them once or twice and decide it’s not worth the bother. The KQi Air is a decent scooter but it’s expensive because of the carbon fiber. The Apollo Air will give you better ride quality and better water resistance but I think it’s going to be too heavy for your scenario. I tried taking my 43 pound Ninebot Max once on my sailboat and that was enough for me to recognize that scooters and boats don’t mix well.
r/ElectricScooters • Electric Scooters on a boat... ->The Ninebot Max is the only one I would consider on this list. You can buy it refurbished for $389. All the other stuff is low quality junk. https://store.segway.com/refurbished-ninebot-kickscooter-g30lp
r/ElectricScooters • Help me choose a Segway scooter! ->I would agree with Apollo being B-Tier prior to their release of the Apollo Go/Pro. Those UL certified scooters are a significant leap in quality compared to the rest of their lineup and I haven't had any issues with the Go now in over 500KM of riding. The pure electric braking combined with the incredibly strong frame is great / issue free so far. Focused solely on their newer releases, Apollo to me is an A-tier, upcoming S-tier brand, especially when factoring in their local support / physical locations. I admire that they produce their own designs now that are UL certified rather than copying the latest chinesium from Aliexpress like most of the smaller brands. I also own a Ninebot Max, a Ninebot Max G2, and an Apollo City Pro 2022. I prefer the Apollo Go in almost every way compared to the G2; it feels substantially better made. GOAT scooter still though is the Ninebot Max. Its just so fucking well designed and rock solidly built due to how simple it is. Perfect last mile commuter, but not really a 'going on a ride for fun' scooter.
r/ElectricScooters • My e-scooter brand ranking of 2024 after riding for 3 years, thoughts? ->get a Segway/Ninebot (same company), the Ninebot max can actually handle the rain, and they are more common so there are more parts/tutorials available for repairs. Theres a reason you see so many beat up Ninebots on campus, they last long enough to get beat up. There are a ton of Hiboy S2/S2 pros all around campus so those might be good but all the research I did sold me on the ninebot about a year and a half ago. Whatever you do make sure you get one from a known brand so it doesn't catch on fire.
r/UMD • Best electric scooter? ->I changed both tires myself on my ninebot max for $50 with airless tires once I wore through the first ones. no clue what you are on about...
r/UMD • Best electric scooter? ->Sounds like diy is worth it. I’ll fix anyone’s scooter ngl
r/UMD • Best electric scooter? ->No, don’t do that. Use the speed settings. No sense buying one then having to sell it and buy another one. I started with an ES1L and went to a ninebot Max, nobody wants to buy the ES1L since it sucks by todays standards.
r/ElectricScooters • Seriously, buy a starter scooter. ->I went from a Ninebot Max G30 -> Ninebot Max G2 -> Kaabo Mantis X Plus. Both upgrades so far, I was able to recoup ~70% of my purchase price from selling the old scooter on fb marketplace/craigslist
r/ElectricScooters • Seriously, buy a starter scooter. ->Depends, for modding no, for comfort and out of the box use yes. G30 modding has basically no limits and good communities. Power and Speed is depending on budget and skill
r/ElectricScooters • Best e Scooter to Mod, i want: Stabilty, modding up to 40-50kmh, good battery life with a good Range, modding should Not hang outside the Scooter Like some do ! It dosen‘t have to be the Most expansive one either be the cheapest ! ->Segway Ninebot g30 is a good reliable scooter should be able to get for around that price. Any scooter you find that does 30+ mph at that price range will be a death trap. Start off getting really good and confident with a normal scooter at normal speeds before you start chasing high speed specs. At 20 on a scooter you can do some serious damage still and feels fast.
r/ElectricScooters • First Electric Scooter ->No I don’t expect the mod team to action them. It is good to be aware though that this occurs in so many subs and threads. And not just here in reddit. You mods do a great job. And I agree the g30 is fantastic.
r/ElectricScooters • YouTube videos about electric scooters are a total shill fest ->Seems to be some better or competitive scooters for the g30lp price. I just got one and I love it. After 70 or so miles, I think suspension would be nice. And I would appreciate higher speeds. But all things considered, it is popular for a reason. I use it for fun. For daily commuting, probably the g30 max would be ideal. Or something with suspension.
r/ElectricScooters • New Ninebot G30LP for 460 USD ->It’s not too bad to put the g30 max battery in there. I’ll probably do that at some point. I think I would prefer the g30lp size over the max. So best of both worlds there.
r/ElectricScooters • New Ninebot G30LP for 460 USD ->I think it's overlooked since there isn't much room for modding in the F2 Pro. The Max G2 and G30 have more space for aftermarket upgrades. The F2 Pro is a good scooter for the price. I have one. The only thing I don't like is that spring cause after a week it clicks now. And the charging time is pretty slow.
r/ElectricScooters • Ninebot F2 pro. yay or nay? ->no. do NOT buy this knockoff Ninebot Max G30. Buy the G30 or G2 instead of this crap
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Hiboy Electric scooter s2 Max any good? ->Here in Europe it's in every big-brand electronics store and I'm starting to see them on the road pretty consistently. In countries that have bureaucratised the shit out of scooters, or intend to do so (like mine), it's one of the cheapest actually decent scooters to get approval, so they're pushing it pretty hard. I predict it'll soon become the next M365. The venerable G30 unfortunately falls short of several requirements so I no longer see it in stores a lot. On the other hand the G2 does get certification so it's being marketed as the next level up from the F2. As for known negatives, it pretty much seems to not have any if your expectations are set correctly (mostly concerning speed). For us tinkerers it has little interest as its potential for modding is mediocre, and I personally consider its suspension a gimmick I'd rather do without, but I have no reservations recommending it to anyone.
r/ElectricScooters • Ninebot F2 pro. yay or nay? ->Get the hiboy, faster, has suspension, probably better range, Easier to control. Also consider a refurbished g30. Hiboy build quality is great, and is more powerful so if you want to hack it it will also be more stable at speed.
r/ElectricScooters • Which scooter to buy? Need advice ->The hiboy has bluetooth and an app. As a g30 owner the suspension the hiboy offers is a massive dealbreaker
r/ElectricScooters • Which scooter to buy? Need advice ->Yeah. Not trolling at all (also not sarcasm) lol. Segway ninebot might work!
r/liveaboard • New thoughts on e scooters? ->I’d go with the [Segway Ninebot](https://www.reddit.com/r/Calidad_Precio/comments/1j2ltqy/best_electric_scooters_for_college_in_2025/). It’s got great range, solid speed, and rides super smooth. Perfect for getting around campus without worrying about charging all the time. Check out [this post.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Calidad_Precio/comments/1j2ltqy/best_electric_scooters_for_college_in_2025/) Hope is helpful! :D
r/ElectricScooters • Best e-scooter for a college student ->I have the Segway Ninebot Scooter, it’s pretty good! Mine isn’t the best at hill climbing tho, especially when its steep, it slows down. But i can’t really say much about other scooters though
r/UMD • Best electric scooter? ->Segway is good but this is a kids' scooter. The weight limit is 50kg, so unless you're a preteen or a **very** small adult, this probably isn't the scooter for you. It's not built to handle an adult's weight, and it will feel slow even at top speed. The motor is only 260W. The Segway Ninebot line has good brand recognition, and a reputation for not needing much maintenance. But that comes at a premium. If you're on a budget, I'd go for a different brand. P.S. I assume this is in Canada. Your city [probably has scooter laws](https://apolloscooters.ca/blogs/news/electric-scooter-laws-2024-in-canada-everything-you-need-to-know) that limit you to around 25km/h or 500W (treating them as motorcycles past that in some cities, so you'll need a license and insurance). So it's most likely a bad idea to get something too expensive anyway; you're really only paying for more power past $800 or so. The one linked here is a good option.
r/ElectricScooters • Review of this e scooter. ->Depending on your weight, and how hilly Ann Arbor is, I'd probably aim for a cheaper dual motor scooter - the Inmotion climber or the Kaabo Mantis 8 both come to mind. If you're lighter, or mostly in flat area, the Segway Ninebot line has a lot of happy users. You mention you're not handy - I'd advise learning just a little bit of maintenance on the scooter, since it really is easy to do and you don't have much else protecting you on one! Basic stuff like wiping it down when it gets dirty and checking/filling tire pressure will go a long way. You can pick up a cheap electronic air compressor that doubles as a power bank to help with that, and every manufacturer should have videos or writeups on regular maintenance. The big problem is that, unlike a bike, you probably don't have a shop you can take it to for repairs near you - even if there's a bike shop with ebike repairs, they don't necessarily service scooters too.
r/ElectricScooters • Best e scooter for 21 year old college student looking to zip around Ann Arbor. (Cyber Monday deals appreciated) ->Ninebot is made by Segway. It’s branded. I also love my ninebot.
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->Segway Max seems in your wheel house. Built like a tank. It’s not the fastest thing in the world but it’s got a good battery life/range and will you get you hours of fun.
r/ElectricScooters • Got my first NUI scooter a couple weeks ago from Best Buy ($650) and am returning it tomorrow. Which option should I go with for something to rip around on bike paths and my neighborhood ?? ->"#3 says Segway Ninebot Max - there are at least 3 different basic versions of the Max (G2, G30 and G30LP) and then a lot of different regional versions. also Niu doesn't show the specific model and there are a few... you should differentiate more in your list.
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed the 20 most recommended electric scooters on Reddit ->Ninebot in S tier? Their g30 and g2 models are good and stable but you all you get is a scooter which is not breaking. Which is fine but theres nothing more to it then a simple scooter going 25kph. Get to B Tier
r/ElectricScooters • My e-scooter brand ranking of 2024 after riding for 3 years, thoughts? ->Yes mine does 40 kph but still waaaay to expsenive
r/ElectricScooters • My e-scooter brand ranking of 2024 after riding for 3 years, thoughts? ->Anything from Segway/Ninebot. The have superior waterproofing and stability in wet conditions. Ideally G30/G2/G3 line, those are the most robust ones.
r/ElectricScooters • Recommendations for electric scooters with drizzle proof with good range ->What's your budget and country? That makes a huge difference. Overall, Segway-Ninebot is the biggest company and they have a range of scooters at all budgets. You won't get the best value for a dollar but you'll have an acceptable warranty and a large community of users.
r/ElectricScooters • Best brand for E Scooters? ->Yeah Segway is the least risky option. You can also look at Niu, although none of their kick scooters have rear suspension so long rides on rough pavement can be tiring. If your roads aren't very smooth I would strongly recommend a scooter with front and rear suspension. keep in mind that advertised range is much shorter than real life range unless you have perfect conditions and ride at slower speeds.
r/ElectricScooters • Best brand for E Scooters? ->
