"Durable (9/10): good for hard, bump roads. ... Cinder paths (eg jogging paths); fresh cut grass (eg golf course fairways; some dirt roads that are packed. Cobble stones are A-OK (if bumpy; very doable)."
"I have the same G30 and have put over 7000+ miles on mine on NYC streets. With normal maintenance, these things will go the distance and last a long time."
"Had mine for 5 years now , no issues , haven’t done any maintenance ... my other friend has 10,000kms on it and still going strong . Just replaced both tires that’s it."

"It's the original ultra-reliable tank. ... it's basically the perfect urban cruiser on the cheap."
"Extremely high quality to price ratio"
"I paid 70€ for my G30, included with delivery ... can't name a better scooter for its price"

"the battery size (and therefore range) is about the max I’d want for a commuting scooter. ... Range is more than enough for me. ... realistically it’s about 20 miles at 19 mph and for this type of vehicle, that is more than enough. ... Scooters are really best for ~5-10 mile rides."
"The battery power lasts about 5-6 days for me (note that I use it a lot throughout the day), so I only bring in my scooter one night every week."
"Battery is solid and longest I have done is 48km on a full charge, and it still had some juice left."

"Gets you up the hill at a decent speed which I feel is a must ... I seem to remember going around 9 mph up the steepest part of the Hill right after the crosswalk. ... I’ve never had to kick it up any roads"
"The Max G3 is a total beast on hills if you can budget it. I’m 220lbs and ride with a full pack every day. ... The hill totally stops my G30 but the G3 maintains speed all the way up and loses 3mph on the last few yards at the highest steepest part."
"And I have yet to find a hill it can’t climb."

"So you can build one like I did with my hacked ninebot g30 and then run at variable vintage and capacities. ... Currently using the g30 with m365 pro 2 brain and 500W motor. Overvolted to 50V with a 12v booster pack I can connect. ... Extended base with 3D printed ring and it fits a 12s10 battery and the m365 brain mounted inside. ... Dual after market suspension and at one point ran it dual motor."
"About to put a different motor in that supposedly has stupid amount of torque. ... Some guys are running 30s now with this specific motor to have stupid torque in a single motor and have an 80mph top speed... ... I pull wheelie at 40mph by just pressing the throttle. ... I should be able to top out around 40mph without field weakening and maybe 45mph with a little field weakening and this is on 60v. Supposed to have backflip torque available lol. Perfect for all the mountains I'm around."
"Scooter used was a few hundred bucks, batteries about 2-300$ and other random parts and connectors about 50$. The time is all you need to create an absolute monster.... With a lil ingenuity he could have a real tank for cheap"

"No suspension is up to personal preference in my opinion; it’s going to be less maintenance and less things to go wrong, but it can be a rough ride when hitting bumps in the road."
"It has two flaws: ... no suspension. ... The only thing that does make me go "aw, crap" is cobblestones, but that happens on every scooter and bicycle I have, including the dual-suspension scooter and the mountain bike."
"the lack of suspension...was such a pain"

"And if you’re hitting an incline, it’ll drop you to an easy 10mph when max on sport mode is 18.5mph or so."
"At 190lbs, I had one for 2yrs and it did not take hills well"
"The hill totally stops my G30"

"be prepared for daily and monthly maintenance. ... air tires: checking these constantly. ... If you live an urban environment with rough roads (eg Boston; NYC) you may want air tires (softer ride), but you trade off with maintenance. Check daily. ... if you ride your brake, with regular commuting (5x a week), you will go through brakes every 3 months. ... high maintenance scooters (to maintain daily performance)"
"the regenerative braking is ALWAYS coupled to analog braking (which is poor unless one keeps on top of maintenance; if you ride your brake, with regular commuting (5x a week), you will go through brakes every 3 months. Braking requires >30% more distance than Hiboy"

"My only complaint on mine is the 19 mph top speed can feel a bit slow on longer straight roads"
"You said 30MPH, I don't know if you want to go that fast or if that's just the speed limit, but bear in mind that the G30 tops out at around 20MPH and barely gets even there."
"It has two flaws: relatively slow maximum speed even unrestricted"
Segway g30lp $299 on eBay. I bought one last year and it’s solid. [here](https://ebay.us/m/leruJK)
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for an electric scooter on Amazon, $300 budget. ->Go to Walmart.com and pick up a refurbished Segway g30lp. I did this almost a year ago. And I have yet to find a hill it can’t climb. [link](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Restored-Segway-Ninebot-MAX-G30LP-KickScooter-Power-350W-Motor-25-Miles-Range-18-6-MPH-Cruise-Contro-Electric-Scooter-Adults-66-1-220-5lbs-Payload-Re/5704968659?conditionGroupCode=2&classType=REGULAR&from=%2Fsearch&sid=54e7f434-2385-44a0-9247-677605d3a7e0) only $338 bucks…
r/ElectricScooters • Recommend me a reliable scooter (under $800)? ->I bought a refurbished Segway g30lp from Walmart last year. They were selling for $250 at the time. It’s my first scooter and it’s a solid, well built machine. If it does ever break. Parts for these are abundant, and easily swapped out.
r/ElectricScooters • Scooter Advice ->Is it a $500 giftcard? Because if it is it could very well be worth putting a small cash payment on top as well. I'm not sure what's available on amazon but it could get you into a different class of scooter. The G30LP is a great beginner scooter but I wish I had bought something a bit better to start with (to avoid upgrade-itis)
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter under $500? ->Completely up to you, but as a G30 rider (when shit was cheap pre-covid) the lack of suspension and the short handlebars were such a pain. I just feel like the G2 is such a huge step up that it would be worth paying the extra. But again, it's your scooter and cash. Just giving my experience :)
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter under $500? ->Seconded. I got the Max G30LP for Christmas, and have put more than 300 miles on it since then, just commuting around the city a few times a week. I did a rough estimates to find that is about $900 saved in rental fees, which would more than pay for itself. It feels sturdy and good quality. That said, if you're truly commuting daily, you may consider the Max G2, which has a suspension to make your ride a little more comfy. r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->I got my Segway g30lp for 300 off of marketplace and I’m pretty happy with it. Gets you up the hill at a decent speed which I feel is a must, and is a durable build which should last a few years at least. Definitely need a good lock though, my roommate caught someone cutting through his lol
r/ucla • Any Electric Scooter Recommendations? ->I’m surprised a 500w couldn’t do it, I seem to remember going around 9 mph up the steepest part of the Hill right after the crosswalk. G30lp only has 350w and I’ve never had to kick it up any roads, although I’m a little lighter at 150lbs. According to Segway it can handle up to 20% incline which is quite steep
r/ucla • Any Electric Scooter Recommendations? ->I’ve got a Segway Ninebot Max G30LP. Got it for a great deal, and haven’t had a single complaint on it. Haven’t used my car in forever cuz I can just zip around in a few minutes. The battery power lasts about 5-6 days for me (note that I use it a lot throughout the day), so I only bring in my scooter one night every week. As for bringing it in my dorm (Moses), RAs don’t care I bring in my scooter to charge. I’ve walked past the RAs a couple times and they don’t care. Just make sure not to leave it in your room over winter break or summer and you’re good.
r/aggies • Best electric scooter? ->Definitely the G30LP. $250 refurbished on Walmart right now.
r/ElectricScooters • Recommend a $200-250 electric scooter for a 10 year old please? ->Late, but thank you btw for this! I apparently never responded?? Ended up getting the G30LP, and it's genuinely amazing so far! Even my mom has loved trying it out over break, lol I've used it a ton since it arrived, and haven't needed to charge it yet, since the first charge when I took it out of the box (it's still at like 60%). That box, though, was absolutely MASSIVE. So big that the mail room workers asked me a few times whether or not I'd be able to bring it to my dorm. Ended up borrowing a dolly, and got it back there. That box takes up nearly the entire length of the room 🤣
r/ElectricScooters • 5TH WHEEL V30PRO vs Segway Ninebot MAX G30LP ->If you can bump up the budget the Segway G30LP will be a good one to set him for the next few years. You could also go for the G30 Max to future proof if he needs more distance or climb higher gradients (motor is better and battery is twice the range). Both models are reliable, easy to maintain and replacement parts are readily available, affordable to buy and change yourself. Just ensure they do regular maintenance checks, don’t run the battery down below 15-20% where possible, keep psi topped up and have him wear a helmet as minimum safety gear. You can also control speeds via the dedicated app too. FWIW, I recently did an analysis on Reddit data for electric scooters, ranking them by aggregated sentiment. Maybe you'll find it helpful [https://redditrecs.com/electric-scooter/](https://redditrecs.com/electric-scooter/) You can filter for what's good for hills and get a breakdown of what ppl have said about the most often recommended ones (disclaimer some links are affiliate they help fund the analyses)

r/ElectricScooters • Electric Scooter for 12 year old ->I got segway ninebot max g30LP for 499 on Amazon. My commute is simple. 8 miles daily on bike lanes, including some incline. I rode it during rain, during freezing temperatures and such and performing really well. I read that the customer service can be a pain, but I haven't needed it so far. I would consider if the specs fit to your needs (range, speed, tire type, etc..)
r/ElectricScooters • Electric scooter for $500-600 ->I wanted a lightweight but also a decent range. If it is discounted, I would consider G30 LP. I did 800 miles in 7 months, including snowy and rainy weathers under 20F in winter, and had no issues. The best part is, you can fold and take it to bus or subway with you. Not very light but carriable.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->I was between uScooter GT sport, KQI Air but then I decided to go with Segway g30lp. KQI air has very bad reviews, not only in Amazon but in BestBuy and other retailers. Especially after they closed their flagship here in NY, I couldn't be sure to pay 950usd for it. To your point about GT sport, I did some research and I didn't want to go with a solid tire. Especially I want to be able to ride it it is wet outside. Also, I read that it might be slippery on some surfaces like metal consturction covers and such which is quite frequent in Manhattan. On top of this, they didn't have any black Friday discount so if I am unhappy with my purchase, I can go back to Escooter GT and find it in the same price. Max g30lp is definitely heavier then I was initially planning. However, it looked safe and in the market for 3-4 years with apparently easier access to spare parts. Amazon has return windows Jan31. 2 months is a good period to test it out and decide.
r/ElectricScooters • All I wanted was buying a lightweight decent scooter and stop spending 150+ a month to citibike ->g30lp what I ordered eventually. It was as low as 399 and got great reviews. Despite it is heavier than my initial plan, 38.6lbs isn't horrible. I guess I can drag it on the wheel to the bus stop and lift it. I will just need to convince my 3.5 years old to walk by herself :)
r/ElectricScooters • All I wanted was buying a lightweight decent scooter and stop spending 150+ a month to citibike ->Basic Ninebots are what we usually suggest. The F25 and F35 are relatively unassuming but effective people-movers. The G30LP and the F2 are a little more serious, but they're probably over-budget. The E2 is cheap but pretty weak, though that might be a feature rather than a bug if you're giving it to a 14yo - though do keep in mind that also means it chokes on the slightest uphills. We also like basic Nius but I don't think they have the 20kmh limit German law requires - all of the Nius I've seen so far do 25. Edit: well, apparently not - if available in Germany, the KQi1 Sport (warning: cheap but doesn't fold) or the KQi 100P would be good choices as well.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Budget Scooter Germany ? ->It and the G30 are tanks. The G2's suspension does mean it's heavier and there's more stuff that can break, but it's not *usually* a problem. This is a good moment to remind you that Ninebot have sold *thousands upon thousands* of G2s. Doubting it because of one video is like doubting a car because one dude somewhere had a radiator leak, or something. No product is perfect and acceptable defect rates are a thing. Additionally, an amount of play that small definitely wouldn't stop me riding it. To be honest, I probably wouldn't even be arsed putting the scooter up on the stand to fix it.
r/ElectricScooters • So what's the consensus on the Ninebot Max G2 nowadays? ->Can't help you about reviews, but I *can* tell you - from the tech specs and from user reports here - that E-series Ninebots below the E3 Pro aren't actually very good. They have weak powertrains and tiny ranges and they'll choke on any uphill; personally I'd avoid them all. The E3 Pro specifically is the only one with a half-decent powertrain; I'd imagine that's why people have more things to say about it. I *would* choose a Xiaomi 5 before any E-series, but I'd choose a Ninebot F3, cheaper F2, or even the older G30 before the Xiaomi 5.
r/ElectricScooters • Ninebot E3 Review? No Videos or Reviews Online ->Excellent choice, the G30 has been a mainstay of our recommendations for years for very good reasons.
r/ElectricScooters • Hiboy s2/s2r vs Gotrax gxl v2 ->It's the original ultra-reliable tank. It has two flaws: relatively slow maximum speed even unrestricted, and no suspension. Aside from that, it's basically the perfect urban cruiser on the cheap. Now, whether the lack of suspension is a problem depends on your tolerance. Personally I have zero problems with that setup, and for relatively slow urban commuters actually prefer unsprung wheels because they're lighter and have less stuff that can break. But my tolerance *is* relatively high, so make of that what you will. As for speed, I find it good enough for city riding. You can mod a G30 for more speed, but it's a significant expense and DIY effort and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
