Remember that the claimed range on ALL scooters, even from reputable manufacturers is BS. It's based on an ideal set of conditions and rider decisions that will never ever be replicated in the real world. Cut the claimed range in half and you'll be very close to the actual range. If you're some combination of light, slow, and avoid any kind of an incline you might get 60%. A gravel road is pretty light duty off road so any quality scooter with suspension and non solid tires will do just fine. Lots of people recommending one of the Wolf variants and that's not a bad choice. They're good scooters and good quality/performance for the money. My only hesitation is that they have MORE off road capabilty than you need, which isn't in itself a bad thing, but they are big bulky and heavy, so if portability is an issue you might want to consider that. Honestly, any of the scooters that you listed is going to do fine. If the rest of your riding is going to be on the street, I might lean more towards the Mukata or one of the higher spec Mantis models if you like Kabbo. More biased for street riding in a lighter, more nimble package with a lower center of gravity at the cost of suspension travel. Yume is hard to beat in terms of bang for the buck, but they cost less and it shows up in the fit and finish as well as some of the components, like using generic battery cells. Really good value for the money, just a little bit rough around the edges. "Built like a tank" also means "heavier than it needs to be." Still, they tend to give you a generous helping of scooter for your money. I like Segway, but I don't think they have a model that works well for your use case. They just released a model called the ZT3 Pro, which can be had on sale for about $950, but it's a single engine (fairly stout, but still only one) with a firmware limited top speed of 25. Some very nice features, like traction control and big 11 inch self healing tires, beefy shocks and some bells and whistles. In an ideal world at some point theyll release a dual motor version of this model. Other than the P100, Segways have great build quality, features, reliability and ergonomics. None of these things really show up on a performance datasheet and judging strictly by that metric and factoring in cost, they're midpack. I have a GT2 which is the 6th scooter I've owned and I really like it, but it probably isn't the best choice here. It's heavy, not particularly cheap and while the suspension is fantastic, it's more set up for the street. You can get about the same performance from a wolf warrior x for almost $1000 less and you're only giving up a little bit in terms of performance in a package with more of an off road bias. The GT1 is the single engine version that's still good for 38 mph, but still heavy and more of a street machine. A gravel roads and trail riding are well within its capabilities and the ride quality and stability is sublime. Still, single engine. For off road, I would rather have two smaller motors rather than one big one.
r/ElectricScooters • How “capable” of an off-road scooter would I need for this drive way? ->They are both pretty amazing scooters. The Kilma is more common and I've talked to a lot of guys here or IRL and I've never had anyone say anything bad about it. One guy didn't like the way the taillights were set up but everything else is positive. Its a powerful beast. Just gotta ask if you want that extra speed. Even if the money isn't an issue, think about weight and portability. I've got at GT2 that I love until I have to carry her up a flight of stairs.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for ~2k$ ->Yeah, well some of us became fan boys by riding them. I've got a Vsett 10+. Great scooter. Buddy of mine gets a GT2. I tell him he's an idiot. I ride the GT2. Week later I order one, even though performance wise it's only a tiny bit better than the Vsett. Why? There's a whole bunch of factors other than performance data that go into making a scooter fun to ride. The suspension, the stability, the throttle tip in, the ergonomics. The fact that the acceleration stays strong even if you're already at 80% of max. Most scooters taper off hard. Segway understresses their components. You could tune a Segway to get better performance. But they leave all that headroom for reliability and longevity. They guy talking shit about Segways is always the guy who's never ridden one and who' s scooter cost way less and he's modded it so it'll totally smoke a Segway...except it's not working right now and he's waiting for a part. Somehow all these parts never get included in their cost of ownership, or their time even if you figure it at minimum wage. Start doing the math and you're not saving much. If anything at all. All this for a scooter that's got a slightly better than even chance of being 100% functional on any given day and has questionable resale value That being said, the list prices for Segway are ridiculous, but nobody pays that. If the model you want isn't on sale this week, it will be next week. It's a goofy way to run your business, but whatever. I'm sure there are some very nice DIY scooters out there. Buy you'd think that someone that knows enough about scooters to build a good one would also know to look beyond the initial performance specs on the latest and greatest from Temu. The whole "segways are overpriced, i built something better in my garage" is ignorance from people that should know better and an argument that's completely irrelevant for most people. Most people just want to charge and ride. I like to tinker and upgrade but I want to do it on my schedule, not because my AliExpress 2000 SUX burned up another speed controller-- not the one that it came with but the upgraded sinewave one that lasted two months. And there's a loose connection in the lighting circuit that needs to be traced down because the headlight keeps flickering...and it needs to go to a machinist because the aftermarket shock is a couple of millimeters different than stock and the bolt recover is starting to strip out and...
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->Do you want to not fall ? Get a GT2 it’s haavy but 44 mph is fast enough for any city traffic I’ve been in and it pulls on most cars at lights . Most stable scooter I’ve been on most of them not dualtron .
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for the best e-scooters for commuters ->I have this one and yes it's freaking amazing. Definitely the best one. I'm sure it can go much faster but they have some kind of limiter are on it. But honestly 44 is fast enough on this type of vehicle.
