The other thing is, does it amount to a serious failure or a minor failure? I just spent $6500 on a Teverun. The rear shock blew after 1200km's. I could complain, cry and get it 'fixed' under warranty for it to blow up in another 1000km's or I could just swap out the shock for another. I have now ordered a $20 shock to install with some great reviews but worst case if that blows as well I'll spend $70 on a KKE unit. If it was a motor, battery or controller THEN I would be screaming but otherwise just consider it an opportunity to upgrade the components. Unfortunately these things don't last forever

The teverun blade gt2 with the 26ah battery is probably the best value at $1800msrp or ~$1200 taxed and shipped direct from china(pre tarrif number). I couldnt find another scooter that could do more than 80kph, with a weight under 35kg. It's the same scooter as the fighter 11, as far as perfomance. The fighter 11 has a nicer screen, a few more lights, and a different color scheme. It's better in just about every way than the nami klima, and it weighs less. Weight might seem unimportant with a powered scooter, but it has been extremely useful to have a scooter that I can carry up a flight of stairs, the teverun is just light enough that I can do so safely despite a back injury. I would highly recommend restricting the power/top speed until you have some practice with the scooter. These are basically shitty motorcycles, not toys.

You can get my scooter, the bade gt2 with a smaller battery for 1700. Teveruns are well built, and have some nice features. Even if you dont care to go 50+ mph, its cool that the scooter can do it. Im coming up on 4000 miles on mine.

Ausom fudges their numbers more than most. Teverun for example is very close to reality. Really depends on brand, but take the specs from the scooter and run it through a calculator, probably more accurate than the average manufacturer claim

Look teverun or nami if you have good budget. They have many different models to choose from. I have dualtron achilleus and what i dont like it is the suspension. Otherwise i would have recommended dualtron too. I have driven it around 3500km and had only one flat, still same tires. Brakepads i have changed. If i switch to other scooter it will be teverun.

Honestly, the biggest thing is going to be the shop that you purchased from in terms of warranty support and source for parts. It’s very hard to have confidence that they’re gonna be around to still be able to provide parts at a reasonable price. Teverun seems like a solid option even if the shop you buy it from is not the best because luckily almost every part seems readily available at a good price from AliExpress. So you have options. 7620r seems pretty great although getting the later version seems better, especially if you need to deal with the steering dampener. Inmotion, I would only not recommend because I’ve seen their terrible customer support on their electric unicycle side of the business. They also seem to be discontinuing in someway the RS so I will be confident for parts. RX7 on paper seems like a great scooter for the price, but I’ve also seen pretty terrible customer support from roadrunner and I know a few different scooter shops where I live and they seem to suffer a lot from electrical gremlins. Teverun I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, and there may be some bias because they typically see the more higher end versions. But the friends that I know at shops have those as their personal ride and don’t really seem to have as many mysterious issues if that makes sense. Like with randomly dying controllers or motors with failing hall sensors. Stuff that doesn’t have a very clear physical damage component to it. Lastly, I think if you search on this sub, I think there is very recently someone who purchased that same scooter from Wilson’s, who didn’t have the best experience out of the box, but the shop did get him a replacement with an a decently reasonable time. So although it’s a crummy situation to be in at the very least, I think that’s the sort of experience you would want if you have issues. If you’re in New York, maybe you would want to consider these guys since they seem more local and I have heard decent things about them online. Although I always recommend doing your own research. https://www.speedwayridersnyc.com/shop/fighter-supreme-7260r-electric-scooter/?srsltid=AfmBOooXYrjru0kYSmHevL7m4C0PzwPrjMb61AabsevgXnvHJWmH3qRU

Nice is that the single motor, they were out of stock when I was buying. I downsized from a 6kw scooter to a 2025 Teverun Fighter Mini pro tge carbon fiber Bosch motor one awesome scooter in fact best ride and build quality i ever owned and 0 to 30 its as fast as my 6kw was. I didn't think I would mis the 50mph+ speed my teverun will hit 43 on a full battery and 41 the rest of the time. I paid $2100 with tax then I added tge 150 seat the 75 thumb throttle and button pad. Oh and a $100 5a smart charger. And a new motocross helmet I got this one at willsons e bikes of the site from NYC they have the fighter 11 on sale for $1899 its a 53mph scooter right put the box more my speed. My scooter only has 344 miles and 15 cycles on the battery according to the smart bms. So I put it in Craigslist for $1700 with all the extras including receipt and box for scooter. And I'll take 1600 i am not trying to sell it here just talking about it. I also included in the add willing to trade for scooter of the same quality in the 50mph range. I can just switch out the controllers and motors from the blade gt+2 there plug and play since its the same frame and wiring harness will cost under 700 but ill need to upgrade the battery too since thr gt2 uses a 7p battery and I believe my 25ah uses a 5p battery oh plus I also added the 4 inch non pke display from the supreme. https://preview.redd.it/3wzp8hndwxxf1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64f553c67c6c841a0e9e8146b4e905c5ac9e2608 Love the scooter nothing wrong with it perfect size for travel at times I just like to go faster then 40mph

Yeah go with the Teverun Fighter 11 or 11+ if you can go up to like $2300. I was going to get the Blade GT 2 as I was coming from a cheap 5600w scooter and didn't really want to downgrade in speed my modded GT08 hits the lower 50mph range. The company I ordered my blade 2 GT from ended up was waiting on a shipment they actually talked me into the fighter mini pro. I was actually sceptical because it was definitely a little slower then my gt08. But honestly I am extremely satisfied. I got the fighter mini pro the 2025 carbon fiber version and I couldn't be happier it's a little slower. The Teverun build quality is awesome try the 7260r or supreme. On a full battery will hit 43 or 44 mph with my 210lb ass but hits 39 throughout the battery and honestly Teverun tunes them so well and gives you a lot of tuning options through the app and the TFT. It actually is just as fast from 0-39 as my cheaper 5600w. But let me tell you it's the most solid scooter I ever have ridden. Normally you get all the vibration and squeaks and creaks this scooter is completely silent except for the normal squeek from the brakes when they get heated up. This is my 6 scooter I have owned and it has so many cool options the smart BMS where you can see the voltage for each cell group and temps a ton of stars. Everything is ajustable it has a built in 4G gps which is amazing for security if it gets stolen the thief's can't just remove the GPS you contact Teverun and they can tell you down to the meter where your scooter is basically lol. On my other scooter at higher speeds I was always gripping the bars like a mad man not scared just looking for the next bump but with the KKE suspension Teverun uses well it's more like riding a dirt bike then a scooter. Bumps that unused to have to brace myself for on my 11 inch scooter even with HLT hydraulic shocks(crap toys compared to the kke)I barley feel them on the top 10 inch if I jumped up and down on the deck of my GT08 it barely moved i would go with the fighter 11+ if you can go to $2300 if not the mini pro $1899 try willsons e bike and e scooters they were awesome and really helpful

Nice great choice for a first its top quality easy to upgrade and work on. I waisted a lot of money buying cheaper scooters should have gone with the teverun from the start. What's nice is most of the parts fit from across models so there's a ton of stuff you can do. But first get a decent full face helmet and a good pair of motocross gloves. And take your time till your used to it. https://preview.redd.it/h5ss9nnj8v5g1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e20af1e7f1494d0eddc3847de5902f616ede9aae I probably have spent $5k buying and modding cheaper scooters should have gone this route to begin with. Mine is a fighter mini pro soon to have the Blade GT2 motors and controllers installed pushing it to 53mph

There are plenty of scooters that are able to be limited, how exactly is a little different. But there are things like the teveruns, where if you lock it with the red NFC badge they have, the only way to unlock it is with the green NFC badge they provide as well. Then he is able to grow into the scooter, which is inevitable at that age. Good luck, and i think its great you are teaching him the proper way when he is still fairly young.

If aftermarket parts and support are a priority, Teverun and Inmotion generally get better feedback than Segway for availability of spares and community support. Roadrunner has mixed reviews, like you said, but you’ll at least find lots of DIY mods/parts floating around. If you can, definitely check out that expo. Seeing what vendors stock and how easily parts are to source should help you make the call.

You have some brutal boyueda scooters, with 60v and 38ah, they are outrageous, they are not more than $1300 on Alixpress If you are looking for something not so big you have the teverun and the iscooter (teverun better brand) You can also see what Xiaomi offers if you are not interested in something so powerful or so heavy, the 5 pro Max or the Max are great, what you save in money you can add accessories or an external battery

Sure, you can save money and get a low-end Chinese scooter, but you can’t really trust it. I’ve fixed and rebuilt hundreds of Teveruns, and I can tell you most of the screws they use are cheap junk—the heads feel like they’re made of chewing gum. That said, the core components like the body, suspension shafts, and steering column are solid. Even on my 7260R, which is already a high-end scooter that costs a fortune, I replaced most of the screws. My advice: don’t cut corners. Go for a Fighter 10 or 11—you’re literally trusting your life to that machine.
