Honestly, the biggest thing is going to be the shop that you purchased from in terms of warranty support and source for parts. It’s very hard to have confidence that they’re gonna be around to still be able to provide parts at a reasonable price. Teverun seems like a solid option even if the shop you buy it from is not the best because luckily almost every part seems readily available at a good price from AliExpress. So you have options. 7620r seems pretty great although getting the later version seems better, especially if you need to deal with the steering dampener. Inmotion, I would only not recommend because I’ve seen their terrible customer support on their electric unicycle side of the business. They also seem to be discontinuing in someway the RS so I will be confident for parts. RX7 on paper seems like a great scooter for the price, but I’ve also seen pretty terrible customer support from roadrunner and I know a few different scooter shops where I live and they seem to suffer a lot from electrical gremlins. Teverun I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, and there may be some bias because they typically see the more higher end versions. But the friends that I know at shops have those as their personal ride and don’t really seem to have as many mysterious issues if that makes sense. Like with randomly dying controllers or motors with failing hall sensors. Stuff that doesn’t have a very clear physical damage component to it. Lastly, I think if you search on this sub, I think there is very recently someone who purchased that same scooter from Wilson’s, who didn’t have the best experience out of the box, but the shop did get him a replacement with an a decently reasonable time. So although it’s a crummy situation to be in at the very least, I think that’s the sort of experience you would want if you have issues. If you’re in New York, maybe you would want to consider these guys since they seem more local and I have heard decent things about them online. Although I always recommend doing your own research. https://www.speedwayridersnyc.com/shop/fighter-supreme-7260r-electric-scooter/?srsltid=AfmBOooXYrjru0kYSmHevL7m4C0PzwPrjMb61AabsevgXnvHJWmH3qRU

Generally, I prefer Teverun and that one is a decent option. I think the only thing holding it back is that it does use tubes which means it could be somewhat annoying to do a tire or tube change. The motor cable also doesn’t have a quick disconnect so it’s very similar to a Vsett 10+ when you want to do anything with the motors, which can be kind of frustrating. Although I don’t like the look of the teewing. It sucks cause $1000 is a really bad price point for a scooter. I hate to tell people to spend more money but around the $1100 mark you’re making a lot of compromises with build quality or quality of life improvements like quick disconnects for the motors.
How much is that? Does look pretty cool and I do like that. It has the quick release plugs for the motors. Only thing I’m not a fan of is those folding latches with the circular latch. I’m just such a big fan of the folding latch that’s used by a Teverun
If support and aftermarket parts are a priority, teverun and in motion are definitely better bets than Segway way more community backing, easier to source tires brakes throttles. Teverun 7260R is solid, In motion RS has the best reliability track record. Roadrunner is fun but not as mature in parts availability.
I think nowadays best bang for your buck is a hiley. They have several models all great options buddy. Get a steering damper if ur going to go over 35mph at any point or otherwise There's a lot of history and thought process behind the evolving scooter market to arrive at today's best options, and honestly most of the best scooters will just cost an unreasonable amount of money more than a hiley for not much noticeable difference. But I'll tell u straight 250lbs and hills? U want at least dual motor 1kw each with dual suspension, which u might end up beefing up for stiffer versions yourself. Youll probably get 1500lb shocks from the manufacturer and may find that's suitable for you But if you're going all out and potentially want a seat kit then you could check out willmason, hooga Daytona, 7260r, roadrunner, nami, or something similar from a reputable manufacturer Im not the kind of mainstream guy to advise segway. I dont like their designs, for very practical reasons, the least of which is specs, in example: the front fender on their 50mph model i dont think has room for knobbier tires, so you're kind of limited. Nor do I see a steering damper on that model, which is frankly the biggest deal breaker since its a safety hazard at that point. As for their zt3 model its single motor, and having 1500miles on an emove cruiser with similar power specs I can tell you at 250lbs you'll never hit their advertised speed, especially uphill and on a chilly day. You'll be flooring it for about 16mph. Segway has never been nor are they now a top pioneer in the escooter industry. I suggest more! Goodluck !
Mate you haven't listed a decent brand in your entire post Have you never heard of Roadrunner, Teverun, Nami, or Maxfun? Hooga daytona? Willmason?
X Ltd for sure! These other models are just trying to be anything like it but aren’t even close. Teverun is way better than Emove. But that scooter is tough to work on too. Wire harness has high failure rate on Teverun and is no fun to swap. 7260r just doesn’t ride right in my opinion and I’d be careful with the flat pack. Those cells aren’t as tried and true as traditional.
They don't ride it at 70mph for 45 miles. It's a city loop that they go up to reasonable speeds for. So for OP's use case, realistic range going to be same as ESG's test, 45 miles. Fortunately that's exactly the range OP requested.
If weight is not an Issue op id take u/suckemoff advice my scooter is 220lbs but has stupendous range other people with my scooter said they got 110 miles of range on it, if weight is an issue the teverun fighter supreme ultra or 7260r are your next best bet, hooga Daytona as well but less range than the both.
Consider getting a Teverun 7260r. I've seen people get them to go over 70mph. 15kW, 13" tires, 60Ah, and it's $4k. I have 1300 miles on mine, it's been awesome! I ordered mine via Rydology. It arrived within a few days. https://preview.redd.it/pgslioqnpz7g1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=158e099f318441c834e805dd3435e1d45579c5a8
Can you even ride the emove in the rain? The Teverun Fighter Supreme 7260r has Blade SK batteries (60ah). It's a 72v system vs 84v though. Take what salespeople say with a grain of salt, they probably get commission.
I have a Teverun 7260r V5 that has a 60AH battery. You could probably get 60 miles of range at 40mph. Got mine via Rydology in WA state for $4k.
There are many variables tbh. It also has a Blade SK pouch array as opposed to conventional small cylindrical cells. So you get high performance until you drain it. I've blasted it without paying attention to the meter & ended up walking 2 miles home. It was full power until the moment it wasn't.
I love my Teverun, I would never buy a Dualtron. I would never buy a scooter with squarewave controllers.
Right were all out to get you. Dude, i have rode plenty, including the go. Youre saying, its the users fault? I told him, buy whatever he wants. I am just giving him my 2 cents. That is all. Seems like you have more stake in this than anyone. You really believe were all coordinating to collude against a scooter company? Think it through. I got a 7260r, that is a scooter i can vouch for, and maybe gives you a little insight on my capability being a user. I got no dog in this fight, but I wouldnt feel right not telling him what me and everyone else believe. You got moderator here telling him the same thing, and were the problem? Stop begging to be banned, its just weird. Pack up and leave if thats what you would like.
I would wait on the hooga, its supposedly got some gremlins to sort out. The 7260r and the Mars are great options, I settled on the 7260r after riding them both, I couldn't be happier.
Yeah, it seems like they went way overkill with it though. Idk, I never had such issue on my 7260r, yes it has a bigger battery, but all the way down to like 30% im still not noticing it throttling back too much. Definitely should have been 84v, or come with a bigger battery. Its fast as shit at 100%, but as soon as it drops, which is almost instantly, its not getting close to those top speeds. If you are a early adopter, you have to be ready to expect a couple quirks and kinks.
Oh alright he’s about the same size as me. Yeah either way, it’s fast as shit lol. The terrible aerodynamics is the part that kills you the most at those speeds. I haven’t used EUC’s too much, tried them a couple times but it’s not really my thing. 75 on a euc seems way more sketch though lmao
There are plenty of scooters that are able to be limited, how exactly is a little different. But there are things like the teveruns, where if you lock it with the red NFC badge they have, the only way to unlock it is with the green NFC badge they provide as well. Then he is able to grow into the scooter, which is inevitable at that age. Good luck, and i think its great you are teaching him the proper way when he is still fairly young.
