I rode a volpam sp03 before I upgraded. I weigh 230-240 lbs and that thing would do a 10 mile round trip and leave me with about 2 bars of battery left. Its a copy of the m365 by xiaomi, I would say for college it would be fine, but I didn't have it for a long time as I quickly outgrew it 😂
I currently have a Volpam Max which the shitty plastic rear fender snapped off and I cannot for the life of me find a replacement unless I get a random one and jerryrig it on which I dont really want to do. in any case I bought it used and im starting to look into other ones like Iscooter's IX7. I use it to commute to work mostly and the only place I have to park is outdoors and uncovered. im worried about most scooters waterproof rating, and with the up and coming market there's so many fucking scooters to look at I dont know where to start. I just need something decent that won't have irreplaceable parts snap off, and will be fine in the rain. any help is much appreciated
I spent 280 on Volpam dual suspension, 10”tires on Amzn. I know it’s a step down from the real bangers but it’s genuinely been great for rough city streets. Thought about pneumatic tires but currently on stock airless. Hits 30km or 19-20mph. Nice locking app for short term deterrent cuz it weighs like 39lbs
Amazon has a scooters way cheaper. I bought a Volpam for $180 and have had it for over a year and it works great, I see almost everyone else with the same scooter on the train. My only regret is not spending more for shocks they have on other versions under $300. Imo if you’re spending 800+ on a scooter it’s either incredible or you’re wasting money.
I got a volpam off Amazon to use between transit and to get to the store. Haven’t had any issues yet. A 500w motor with dual suspension, 10” solid tires for $289
Honestly, no. I use a volpam that looks almost identical to this one, as do all the m365 clones, down to the colors. My issue with the tires are that they tend to be EXTREMELY slippery, and you will feel every single bump, even with the shocks. I didn't pay too much for mine, so it's good as a beginner's scooter, but i'm already looking for a replacement.
I bought a Volpam in April as my first escooter. I had a bit of a learning curve which left me with a couple of bruises, but I still loved it and got the hang of it in about 2 weeks (slow learner, me!) The kickstand also snapped off during week 2. I have about a 3/4 mile commute in San Francisco and it did fine but slow on the half-block hill that I deal with. But the rear tire snagged in a bus(?) track one day and I recovered control fine, but, ever since, the rear tire seems extra slippery to the point I’m really nervous about riding on wet roads, which is more likely now. So I upgraded to a G3 Max, which feels amazingly stable (if big - still getting used to it). Anyway, the point of this is that I agree about the Volpam’s slipperiness but that it’s also a good little scooter to try start on (but only in dry weather and if you don’t need a kickstand!)
Picked up a Volpam off Amazon in February for CA$180. Wanted to know if scooting the waterfront trail to work was actually viable before spending real money. Three weeks in the commute works great. The scooter does not. Every expansion joint on the Queens Quay boardwalk rattles my teeth and the thing wobbles above 20km/h in a way I don’t trust. So I’m buying a proper one. Just can’t decide between the Apollo City Pro at CA$1,299 and the Segway GT1 at CA$1,499. I already bought waterproof gear and a helmet to get ready. One order came to just over CA$150 and triggered a discount giving me CA$15 off every CA$150 spent which was a nice surprise. Then someone in a forum said Apollo and a bunch of other brands all buy their motors from the same handful of factories in Shenzhen and you’re mostly paying for the name after that. I went on Alibaba just to poke around and found motor listings with basically identical specs showing up across a dozen different supplier pages. Doesn’t prove anything but it didn’t exactly make the CA$200 Segway premium feel obvious either. So is there actually a meaningful difference between these two or am I overthinking a CA$200 gap?
