Yeah, that actually helps a lot — and yeah, 25 mph really isn’t a dealbreaker for me. I’m not trying to go crazy fast anyway; I just need something reliable with a higher weight capacity and good ride stability. My last two scooters were the EMOVE Cruiser and one of the higher-end Inokim models (not the OXO, but the one right before it). Both were solid, but yeah — you nailed it — the mechanical disc brakes were exactly the issue. Ended up returning them after a week .Constant adjusting, rubbing, and just general upkeep fatigue. After putting 10,000+ miles on my Ninebot G30 in under four years of urban commuting, I got spoiled by how little maintenance drum brakes need. I’ve been looking into Vsett, maybe the 8 or Apex like you mentioned. I think one of them had a thumb throttle, right? Do you have any thoughts on how that feels compared to the trigger-style throttles? I’m wondering if that’d be more comfortable for longer rides. And yeah, I get that the market’s shifted toward hydraulic disc setups. I might finally have to cave in on that if the braking feel and maintenance are really that much better than the old mechanical ones.
I’ve owned 3 scooter upgrading every time. NIU KQI 3 pro , Emove cruiser S , Roadrunner Rs5. All bought off Facebook at minimum 50% off and all less than 300 miles on them. Barely broken in IMO.
I ride an emove cruiser S. I’m 6’2 225 or so. It hits 28 mph under perfect condition average is 25-26 with a slight incline / wind and such. Give it a look I like it. It will handle the 15 miles a charge plus some.
I’ve bought 2 used scooters. I keep eye on marketplace and found my first scooter niu pro 3 barely used then upgraded to an emove cruiser S with about 500 miles on it in excellent condition. I got both of them for about 1/3 of new retail price. Sold the NIU after about a year for 100 less than I paid for it. I’m looking to upgrade again if I see what I want. I’m really liking to Roadrunner Rs5 max currently.
Emove cruiser The biggest consideration when venturing from mid to lower tier models is the frame quality. Stem snaps, folding mechanisms etc. Practicality isnt always practical But in good faith I can suggest the emove cruiser after a year on one
Yes, I spent $1100 on an emove cruiser that I commute on
I want to give a +1 for being specific and having the needed budget as well as being married to a one wheel owner, I want to see a pciture of you two with the scoot and one wheel next to eachother lol. There are just so many "nEeD ESCoOtER tHaT goES 65 MpH BudGet $200" I really love my Emove cruiser but people here hate it. Super portable and has given me almost 2000 trouble free miles after 4 years.
Then the emove cruiser would be the “best” Commuting scooter idk if it has an app but everything else it got, He didn’t give a price so id call that the best
Been e-scooting since early 2021; my 1st, a G30P (broke while riding); 2nd a Emove Cruiser; [2nd & 3rd are Joyor S10S](https://paa.neocities.org/img/escoot4.jpg). I bought a 2nd one while the first one is still 100% b/c I got paranoid about Tariffs. And rightly so; I got it from their [US warehouse](https://joyorescooter.com/collections/us-warehouse) for $849, and then they went up to $1049, but now they're back down to $899. The S10-Sz; the 5 is single motor. Go dual motor & all hydraulic brakes, no matter the brand.
I've owned a good number of scooters: Segway GT2 (nothing in 2 years) Gotrax XR Ultra (nothing in 5 years!) Razer e90 (nothing for 4 years, barely used though and battery life is shorter) Dualtron Victor (brakes issue, barely used) Emove Cruiser (brakes issues, throttle issue, several tire issues, fender issues, motor down on power, 6 years owned)
I was thinking the same thing, Nami seems be the most recommended brand by a long shot
Ya, I had one for a couple months but end up selling it and using that money to get an Apollo City Pro. But now I’m looking for something that can keep up with traffic. If I didn’t want a higher top speed I probably would have kept my Apollo Go
I’ve had so far the NIU KQI3 Pro, Emove Cruiser, Apollo Go and Apollo City Pro. I’m looking for something to keep up with traffic. It does seem like Nami is the most recommended brand by anyone.
I’ve had the Apollo Go and Apollo City Pro and absolutely loved those scooters, I’ve rode some mantis’ but they always seemed to be lower build quality to me
Closest thing is maybe an eMove Cruiser… not sure if the new ones are any good, I have an older model from like 2022 and it works good
$300 wont buy even a decent scooter, must less a good one. If that is the price point you are working with, I would recommend checking the used market. I have ridden Gotrax, iScooter, Segway and eMove scooters, among others. Gotrax was complete garbage, the iScooter was decent, the Segway was built like a tank. I have mixed feelings about eMove Cruisers, which is my current ride. On the one hand the suspension is phenomenal, as is the range. But the tires, brakes and other bits haven’t lasted very long. I don’t have a ton of miles on mine, I right now need to replace both tires, possibly the brake calipers and one of the brake lines snapped for no apparent reason.
If you want something that you can go 15 miles at Speed a scooter with a big battery is a must the old model emove Cruiser has a range of 62 miles claimed will do close to it if you go Slow it Will do 20-25 miles in range easily enough it is a cruiser so you have to treat it Gently not treat it harshly you can get the old model for $999 on voromotors it has tubeless tires and some wave controller it will climb fairly steep hills not like a dial Motor but Better than most single Motor scooters it has a top speed of 32 mph I do recommend that you swap out the stock brakes for a set of full hydraulics
