5 Pro is very unpleasant to ride, because front suspensions are by my opinion with factory fault. When riding, the lower METAL parts of front suspensions are stroking one on other and this is so disturbing. Service cannot fix that, so this is factory problem! Very unpleasant! 4 Pro was better. Weird!!
r/ElectricScooters • Thoughts on the new Xiaomi scooter 5 and 5 pro? Is Xiaomi making a comeback? ->The GL (aka normal 5) has lower power than the pro (which you feel when climbing hills), and it doesn’t have rear suspension. Those are the important differences. The pro has more power and thus can climb steeper hills, and a spring rear suspension which helps on bumpy roads, and makes any scooter much more safe and forgiving. Between the 2 the Pro is the clear choice. That being said be careful of the weight. The pro is 22.5kg so if you need to carry it often on steps you will get annoyed (especially as the rear wheel motor makes it kind of unbalanced when carrying). The GL is 2 kg lighter. Another alternative with suspension and near this cost would be the ninebot e3 pro. It has elastomer dual suspension, is lighter, more compact, but has a bit less range than the xiaomis. Another even cheaper (but v good) alternative is the xiaomi 4 pro scooters, but only if you only ride on dedicated smooth bike lanes in a decent country, as they do not have suspension.
r/ElectricScooters • Looking to get my 1st electric scooter. ->Start with what you need it for… like commuting where you need range, or a lighter scooter for going out for coffee. Check out big known brands such as segway, navee, xiaomi, niu as they have good quality gates. Think of where you ride the scooter and how much. For bumpy roads it’s safer to have a scooter with dual suspension. If you have good roads a lighter one might suffice. See what’s for sale and check a couple of reviews on youtube. Real range of a scooter depends heavily on rider weight, but in general, if a scooter spec sheet says something like 60 km, it’s usually 35ish. I would say just watch a couple of youtube reviews for various scooters such as segway ninebot max g3/f3, xiaomi pro 4, kukirin g2, as they are very different scooters, and see what the reviewers look out for, and make your choice after you have some knowledge on the matter.
