Hi there, I was at the Berlin tech exhibition IFA and there were a lot of scooter companies showing off their new scooters... Seems like every single one was going for bigger, better and faster. Off road scooters that could rival a yak in Tibet could be found left an right. But small, light and foldable ones for daily short commutes were a no show. I got an old Xiaomi lite 3 and its still one of the lightest scooters produced... Why isn't there a good affordable scooter that can be folded into a backpack yet? Well at IFA was one really nice foldable light scooter for short commutes... Cost frikking 1500€ xD Is there really no market for short distance foldable scooters?

Yeah the ES is basically like my lite 3s... Profit margin is just per model though... It's not like a car company wouldn't fill a niche just because their SUV's have a better margin... But yeah those 100lb mountain defeating super sayin scooters on steroids seem to be the new trend

Nah like I said... My 5 year old Chinese peace of crap could do it :) I would gladly pay 200 bucks more if I could fold the thing more and strap it to my back 😊 13kg, 20km/h and enough charge for a couple of miles... If I can climb mountains with these new scooters why can't I do that? 😅

I owned a xiaomi 3 that died after 2y of ~daily use, so I decided to switch brand for my next scooter. Now I own the ninebot e3 pro and I find much more confortable to drive. One downside I found compared to xiaomi is the cruise control which is not available on ninebot. But overall I am satisfied with it.

Xiaomi is 250 USD. I have a Lite version, it has a range of about 30km, and it is perfect for the city and for bad roads. I have around 2000km on this Xiaomi. Just keep looking for potholes, and pull the handlebar if you encounter one.
