I don't know how to experience my feelings. But basically, because the motor is in the front, when you press the accelerator you feel it imadeatly and when taking turns it feels off? Dual motors aren't a problem but if its a single motor I like rear motor ones more My experience was a ninebot e2 my friend had versus my mi pro4 gen2 excluding power it felt odd to ride
Endte opp med å kjøpe denne her: Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro 2nd Gen NE Har vært veldig nøgd so far!
The thing is, having a second mechanical break would mean that it would be on the motor wheel, and it is much more complicated to build. It is feasible, many scooters have 2 mechanical brakes, but for obvious reasons more expensive, and let's be honest the Xiaomi 5 is a rather cheap scooter for its build quality and overall performances. I have one since may, and did already more than 1600km with it, overall I'm really happy with it. I owned the 4 pro 1 gen and 2nd generation before, basically the 4 pro 2nd gen was exactly the same as the 5, without front suspension and with a more powerful motor (400w/1000w, instead of 350w/700w), I have to admit that I miss that 400W of power sometimes, but nothing crucial. Overall the 5 is the best scooter of those 3 models (4 pro 1st gen, 4 pro 2nd gen, and 5) by far. For cruise control and a better speed there's a lot of tutorials on YouTube where it is explained how to "hack" your electric scooter 5 / 5 pro / 5 max, all you need is a PC, a USB>Serial adapter and the right socket to plug in your scooter. Also a little bit of patience. I tried on mine and it now has cruise control, 29km/h max speed, and it also starts to accelerate with only a slight push, at >1km/h instead of 5km/h. No issue, it works great, the autonomy is impacted of course if you drive above 25km/h. I think the reason why you have such a good range (40km), is simply because you can't drive faster than 20km/h, but that is only because of your local regulations (...are you in Germany or Switzerland by any chance ?). Overall that's a great scooter, hack it and you'll be totally satisfied!
You don’t have to justify your weight, friend, lots of bigger people ride scooters. My bf is about your weight and he gets around fine on my Xiaomi Pro 4, and Segway g4 max. But with that budget you can get something a bit more powerful. Just remember the bigger battery and motor size the better, those are the two major things you should cross shop. Also at least 10 inch tires will last longer and be easier to balance.
They don't have the same battery, the latest 4 pro and 5 pro have a bigger battery, personally I do on average 38-40 kms and I always have 20% left (less when it's cold)
I had a Wide Wheel Pro and use to patrol grass lots. XIOMI 4Pro is very reliable and well built. 👏
The GL (aka normal 5) has lower power than the pro (which you feel when climbing hills), and it doesn’t have rear suspension. Those are the important differences. The pro has more power and thus can climb steeper hills, and a spring rear suspension which helps on bumpy roads, and makes any scooter much more safe and forgiving. Between the 2 the Pro is the clear choice. That being said be careful of the weight. The pro is 22.5kg so if you need to carry it often on steps you will get annoyed (especially as the rear wheel motor makes it kind of unbalanced when carrying). The GL is 2 kg lighter. Another alternative with suspension and near this cost would be the ninebot e3 pro. It has elastomer dual suspension, is lighter, more compact, but has a bit less range than the xiaomis. Another even cheaper (but v good) alternative is the xiaomi 4 pro scooters, but only if you only ride on dedicated smooth bike lanes in a decent country, as they do not have suspension.
Start with what you need it for… like commuting where you need range, or a lighter scooter for going out for coffee. Check out big known brands such as segway, navee, xiaomi, niu as they have good quality gates. Think of where you ride the scooter and how much. For bumpy roads it’s safer to have a scooter with dual suspension. If you have good roads a lighter one might suffice. See what’s for sale and check a couple of reviews on youtube. Real range of a scooter depends heavily on rider weight, but in general, if a scooter spec sheet says something like 60 km, it’s usually 35ish. I would say just watch a couple of youtube reviews for various scooters such as segway ninebot max g3/f3, xiaomi pro 4, kukirin g2, as they are very different scooters, and see what the reviewers look out for, and make your choice after you have some knowledge on the matter.
Thank you for your reply i have mixed feelings about xiaomi. I would say that Xiaomi 4, seconds generation was the best scooter I had for rent, best value. Xiaomi 5Pro from last year was not worth the money. Sandard problem with folding mechanism and also front suspensions. I will check the models you mentioned but the problem usually is spare parts if the models/brands are not know. I should mention that I'm located in Europe.
