I say first buying a xiaomi, learing with smaller speed and the basics, balance foot position and everything, i recommend the xiaomi mi scooter elite or mi scooter 5 pro (5 pro for front and back suspension), you could also get the 5 max, best of the best from xiaomi, but it isn't needed for beginners
Give them time, the 5 Max is still a fresh new scoot. I'm picking mine up today and was also bummed about there being no hacks available but it's only a matter of time before someone comes up with something
So apparently there's already one service shop in Warsaw that can de-limit those and some German folks have been working on a hack as well, it already works on the 5 and 5 Pro but they're letting people with the 5 Max be their beta testers. I'll edit this post with a link soon when I have some more time
Hey guys I have Xiaomi scooter 5 max and I am very satisfied but I am curious if I can unlock the 25km limit and how can I do that? Thanks for response :D
I have the 5 max. The first month was perfect, excellent power going uphill, nice brakes and a smooth ride. But I had to get it replaced because of the rear suspension making a ugly noise near the frame that connects the suspension with the rest of the scooter. Now I'm waiting to test the new one and see if the issue persists.
Just got a Xiaomi 5 max. First scooter, love it. Do wish it didn’t have the 25kmph limiter but for the sake of broken bones I think it’s a good decision
Congrats, mate, Got also 5 max, for europe is best e-scooter in my opinion Good price and awesome suspension, about 40 km range. I was looking at ninebot max g2 but bought this one as soon as it came out because more reliable front suspension And about speed - after riding scooter for 2 years, still think that 25 is enough speed to ride safe, never wanted more *
I just got Xiaomi Scooter 5 Max, you need the app to set it up and that's it. After that you dont need it, you can use it without the app.
Don't know about Pro but I have 5 Max and I'm super happy. For my 110kg weight it's perfect. Rides extremely smooth. Brakes could be better (only front one is analogue and the rear is regenerative breaking) but in 3 months of using it for work and riding I'm satisfied. Rear shocks have to be regularly lubed up though but I have no problems with anything else. It's perfect for me and my needs (not great with hills, it will get you up the hill but not fast and since I live in a flat city I'm OK with it). Weight is 22.5 kg or 50 pounds or whatever, can be folded and not too hard for me to carry. 5 Pro should be the same it just doesn't gave the same rear shock absorbers.
Xiaomi 5 Max does 25-35km range for me with max weight on flat surfaces depending on my speed. Really comfortable to ride with responsive gas throttle and acceleration in sport mode. I check tires once or twice a month.
5 max here, I'm happy with the purchase. I'm almost max weight and I get 30km range. Yes there is only one brake but you can customize how much it brakes when you let go of the throttle. I like the minimum setting because it let's me cruise when I let go of the gas. Also one brake is not a problem for me since I don't drive dangerously and predict when to let go of the gas to slow down gradually. It's well built and I already have over 500km on it. Lights and turn signals are great as well regenerative braking (max settings) for going down steep hills and it slows you down significantly. I've not had any problems with light rain and shallow puddles. I've only ever cleaned rear shock absorbers few times and lube it up with silicone spray lube. I've not maintained anything else at all, never wiped it down or anything and it's clean. It does slow down or completely stop on really steep hills but it rarely happened to me. I would recommend it.
If you want something that isn’t random crap, the Xiaomi scooter 5 is currently £349. RWD, front fork suspension, 10” tires. Max battery range is 37 miles but realistically will get 20-22 miles, depending on speed/your weight/terrain. You won’t get anything better brand new at this price. If you *really* can’t go above £300, the Elite version is the basic spec in a similar in build but battery is smaller, probably get 12 miles. Both available directly and 2 year warranty. Niu Kqi 2 Pro and 100p might be on sale on Amazon, so check them out as well. Otherwise, have a look on Ebay for open box/new or used refurbished units from official business sellers. Can usually find some great deals with Segway/Xiaomi (G30, F2 Pro) and all covered with a year’s guarantee from Ebay. All go 25kmh. You don’t want to be going faster on other cheap no name scooters, but you can clear 35kmh with custom firmware on a good unit like the G30, Xiaomi Pro 2 etc.
You have some brutal boyueda scooters, with 60v and 38ah, they are outrageous, they are not more than $1300 on Alixpress If you are looking for something not so big you have the teverun and the iscooter (teverun better brand) You can also see what Xiaomi offers if you are not interested in something so powerful or so heavy, the 5 pro Max or the Max are great, what you save in money you can add accessories or an external battery
On the xiaomi 5 max / 5 pro you will drive 25-30 km on S.
