I say first buying a xiaomi, learing with smaller speed and the basics, balance foot position and everything, i recommend the xiaomi mi scooter elite or mi scooter 5 pro (5 pro for front and back suspension), you could also get the 5 max, best of the best from xiaomi, but it isn't needed for beginners
my use case is on my yacht taking it to islands so the max wouldn't work - too heavy.
reliability, portability, payload and range. 20Kg is a good number for max and min weight. 60Km advertised means a 15 km real world (range listed / 4 - basically 30Km round trip). 100Kg is good for max payload. thats you + a bag. suspension is necessary for light gravel and for not getting thrown off when hitting a pothole. the motor power is a wash, some advertised peak, some continuous. so a 350W could be a 700W and a 500W could be a 250W. depending on the brand. so basically ignore it. i would get a xiaomi 5. not a 6. because its the perfect balance of all the factors.
try the xiaomi 5. i like mine and it will easily do 16 miles.
get a xiaomi 5. excellent range and weight.
xiaomi 5. its excellent. i ride thru rain no problem. even salt water is not an issue. the 5 standard has 30 km real world range (60 claimed). heres mine - [https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectricScooters/comments/1rn8up4/scooty\_on\_a\_yacht\_xiaomi\_electric\_scooter\_5/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectricScooters/comments/1rn8up4/scooty_on_a_yacht_xiaomi_electric_scooter_5/)
I have the 5 max. The first month was perfect, excellent power going uphill, nice brakes and a smooth ride. But I had to get it replaced because of the rear suspension making a ugly noise near the frame that connects the suspension with the rest of the scooter. Now I'm waiting to test the new one and see if the issue persists.
Just got a Xiaomi 5 max. First scooter, love it. Do wish it didn’t have the 25kmph limiter but for the sake of broken bones I think it’s a good decision
I just got Xiaomi Scooter 5 Max, you need the app to set it up and that's it. After that you dont need it, you can use it without the app.
Don't know about Pro but I have 5 Max and I'm super happy. For my 110kg weight it's perfect. Rides extremely smooth. Brakes could be better (only front one is analogue and the rear is regenerative breaking) but in 3 months of using it for work and riding I'm satisfied. Rear shocks have to be regularly lubed up though but I have no problems with anything else. It's perfect for me and my needs (not great with hills, it will get you up the hill but not fast and since I live in a flat city I'm OK with it). Weight is 22.5 kg or 50 pounds or whatever, can be folded and not too hard for me to carry. 5 Pro should be the same it just doesn't gave the same rear shock absorbers.
Xiaomi 5 Max does 25-35km range for me with max weight on flat surfaces depending on my speed. Really comfortable to ride with responsive gas throttle and acceleration in sport mode. I check tires once or twice a month.
5 max here, I'm happy with the purchase. I'm almost max weight and I get 30km range. Yes there is only one brake but you can customize how much it brakes when you let go of the throttle. I like the minimum setting because it let's me cruise when I let go of the gas. Also one brake is not a problem for me since I don't drive dangerously and predict when to let go of the gas to slow down gradually. It's well built and I already have over 500km on it. Lights and turn signals are great as well regenerative braking (max settings) for going down steep hills and it slows you down significantly. I've not had any problems with light rain and shallow puddles. I've only ever cleaned rear shock absorbers few times and lube it up with silicone spray lube. I've not maintained anything else at all, never wiped it down or anything and it's clean. It does slow down or completely stop on really steep hills but it rarely happened to me. I would recommend it.
Dunno why you getting downvoted, but atleast get the 5 max for the suspension on mountain roads. A pothole downhill is sketchy when wet. GT3 Pro is in a different league however. It's more of like a Bigbike compared to a commuter scooter. That said, 16 miles round trip should be doable. I rode 33km the other day on my Xiaomi 5 max and got 32km on rolling hills and flats and still had 14% battery left. I still want to upgrade to the Max G3 or GT3 pro if I'm not satisfied with the 35kmh unlock tho...
