Based on 1 year's data from Mar 20, 2026 How it works
they just released a 2025 version that’s fully USB-C: https://a.co/d/gfJwAf6
Used it twice, so no comment on longevity but I will tell you it ships with a USB-C to USB-A cord. However I plugged it in C to C and it seemed to charge just fine. Power is super strong, love the oscillation in addition to the vibration. Seems like a very effective clean.
I have a Laifen toothbrush that works great. It is USB-C to a magsafe-like end for the toothbrush. They have an affiliate marketing program so I felt it was hard to find reviews on YouTube that were unbiased, but I’m glad I took a gamble on it. I don’t know if their prices have gone up if you’re in the US due to tariffs, but when I purchased it was close in price to nicer Oral B and Sonicare brushes.
This is exactly what the more premium laifen electric toothbrush uses: https://preview.redd.it/3jztb0spn15g1.png?width=491&format=png&auto=webp&s=db00534c466f5055f3b16d55489168c777648c17
the more premium laifen toothbrush uses pogo pins; The one you have pictured appears to be laifen's more budget offering: https://preview.redd.it/neswy791o15g1.png?width=491&format=png&auto=webp&s=c34f678631de40a3a6511fdb8842dd9246ae262d As others have commented there are IP68 USB C ports, as literally all modern smart phones have. The problem with a toothbrush is that it's not going to be just water entering the port, it will be toothpaste and the inevitable grim that builds up (just look around your bathroom sink) that will eventually prevent the port from working properly. Modern smart phones detect moisture in the port and won't charge until it's dried out. Image how frustrating it would be to have to dry your toothbrush before being able to charge it.

If you like vibrating - Philips sonicare. If you like oscillating - oral b If you like vibrating and oscillating - laifen. I've tried all 3. I prefer laifen. I know many ppl who do not like the sensation of vibrations on teeth. If you belong to this category buy an oral b.
I really like the Laifen toothbrush. It’s made from better materials, has higher build quality and clearly a much stronger motor. And the replacement brush heads from the original manufacturer are under $5 each.
Laifen- tried so many and love this one so much
Yeah, I had my first Laifen Toothbrush die exactly like that. It corroded and wouldn't seem to charge.
My Laifen toothbrush barely lasted a year before issues started coming up. The battery wasn't great to start with, but now it's a gamble on if it's even charging when connected to the cord or not. Not to mention I've been locked out of the app with my toothbrush stuck in travel mode numerous times, which makes it completely unusable! I strongly caution against getting Laifen and just commit to something a bit more reliable.
The Laifen toothbrush is legit. It just works and is fully configurable. It's as good with sonic vibrations as Sonicare, and I would go through Sonicare warranties multiple times per brush I bought from them. Laifen has continued to work and work well. The battery life is crazy good and no custom chargers, just USB-C. Oral-B sucks as a brushing experience. All their high end smart features are dumb and buggy, and their brush heads are designed to leak toothpaste out onto your hands, while the oscillations destroy your gums. Sonicare has a bunch of annoyances that you have to figure out how to turn off, Laifen just gives you an easy app, customize your brushing experience and then forget about it. I've tried a bunch of different toothbrushes and I always go back to Laifen. Only downside is no travel case.
I like my Laifen, it feels premium and comes with stainless steel or titanium casings. No issues with it so far.
