I know this thread is a bit old but I stumbled on it through ye olde Google. I recently switched from a Philips Sonicare to an Oral-B iO 5 (I got a great discount + cashback, total cost ended up being 75 EUR) and I have to admit the Oral-B blows away my Sonicare brush. Things I think Oral-B iO does better: \- Pressure sensor (my Philips didn't have one) \- Shape of the brush: I feel the round shape reaches all the right spots. My teeth also feel a lot cleaner after using the Oral-B brush vs the Sonicare brush \- Tracking in app: It's a bit iffy sometimes but as a sucker for all things tech I love it. The iO 5 is the base model that supports the app tracking. The iO 9 supposedly tracks a lot better giving more feedback. \- Cheaper brush heads: In Belgium Oral B iO brushes are a bit cheaper compared to the Sonicare ones. I tried using non-Philips branded Sonicare brushes (from Amazon) but they didn't perform well, so I'm sticking to the "official" heads now. My dentist also recommended Oral-B over Philips Sonicare. In her opinion the round brush does the job better compared to the regular shaped brush.
I have an oral b io5 series brush. It's quiet and has a sensitive mode but still cleans really well. Although they are a bit on the expensive side so it might not fit into your budget at all. The io3 series might fit in to your budget if you can find it on sale and in terms of brushing performance is just as good.
I got myself an Oral-B iO5 yesterday that's made in Germany 👌
I have an Oral-B iO 5 that was only like $90, and it comes with an app that will show you where you’re missing or where you should spend more time brushing as well as a timer. Then it scores your brushing session so you have numeric feedback
I buy from Amazon and have gone with Oral B iO, I had the 5 and it went bang after many years so went to a 3 and its just not the same so going to buy a 5 again I bought a cheaper chinese non brand one before, found it useless
I recently got an oral b io5 toothbrush and it has a visualization in the app of where it thinks you missed. I'm not sure about the accuracy but combined with what you said, could maybe be helpful for op.
