I don't recommend the brush heads with the little yellow "flossing" paddles. Beat the hell out of your gums. Whether you get the pro or the iO you'll want to use soft bristles.
I have an io myself. I like it, but it's true that mold is a concern. You have to stay on it.
So with oral B becoming more expensive. Im looking at other options. Ultrasonic isn't very good at cleaning in my opinion, im hanging onto my oral B pro but the battery only lasts a few days. Suri would be great as I could otherwise replace the battery... any reccomendations for the best of both worlds? Something with a rotating brush head and a replaceable battery?
Get the oral b pro. It runs like 30$ and its the best toothbrush on the market and it auto turns off if you push too hard, so it will protect your gums from further deterioration.
I have the OralB iO 7 series. I got it because it came in purple and I was replacing my old OralB Pro that I had for going on 10 years. I am not a huge fan of the iO heads as compared to the ones I used on my old model. I rinse the heck out of these heads after brushing and when I change them I still have buildup on the inside where the head attaches. I am a bit of a germaphobe and it drives me insane. I have started pulling it off once a week at-least to clean inside which is annoying. So if I were going to buy again I would get one of the Oral B Pro brushes. My best friend has a sonicare and she loves it. One of the features they have that I wish Oral B would add is that it automatically shuts off at 2 mins. I believe mine will shut off at 4-5 min…which is excessive and sometimes I think I brush too long because I forget to pay attention to and count the vibrations that let you know time has passed.
