I used to brush my teeth with a manual medium bristled toothbrush after daytime meals, and with an electric toothbrush at night (Oral B Vitality 100, with a non-original compatible head). I never paid attention to the pressure. My gums have been often red, bleeding and sore, but my dentist has never told me this was a problem, or to change something in my oral care. A couple of weeks ago I was horrified to notice that some of my gums have been receding. After binge-watching dental hygienist videos on YouTube, I realized I had always been brushing incorrectly, so I adopted the Bass technique. I also discovered that the electric toothbrush head was causing scratches and cuts on my gums (I also heard that some dentists don’t recommend it for people with gum recession), so for now I'm using only a manual toothbrush - I finally bought one with soft bristles. My gums are now pinker and sting way less, but the problems are: * **It takes me 12 minutes just to brush**! I try to be very thorough and reach every tooth, but I’m always worried I’ve missed a spot or haven't cleaned properly where my molars aren’t well aligned, so sometimes I go back over them. Also, the soft bristles don’t let me feel where I’m brushing as well as the medium ones. * **I can’t figure out the right pressure**. Currently I apply zero pressure and just “caress” the teeth (making sure I hear the very light sound of the bristles rubbing the tooth). But I don’t know if it's too light to clean enough. If I press a bit more, my gums get slightly irritated and temporary sting, but maybe that’s the right price to pay for plaque removal? Idk. Any suggestion? Brushing my teeth has become a moment I dread. I really need to reduce the brushing time without also reducing cleaning quality (if there's any). In the night, when I add interdental brushes, water flossing (my teeth are too tight to let regular floss go through), and mouthwash, it can take me over an hour. 😥

you have to change the brush heads every 3-4 months, im using oral b vitality 100 from 4 years and it runs really good, the brush heads are easily available in local stores as well as on e commerce sites. My brother uses the same as well for 4 years and rarely i even batted an eye on how its working

I have been using an Oral B vitality 100 for 6 years now. It comes with the wireless charging dock which has always been plugged in. Still holds its battery for quite long. The max I have tested it was on a vacation where I didn’t carry the charging dock, easily lasted a week without charging. I prefer the oscillating on to the sonic ones. Can vouch for Oral B. Replacement for 2 heads costs around 450.
