My experience with Sonicare's cheaper models (8910 and 6630) hasn't been great. They are loud, weak, and less durable. The $99 ones I bought at Costco have been great.
Ive always used Oral B but I felt like I needed to make a change. I did some research and found that the Phillips one was better for people with braces. Well I made the switch and they’re right! My teeth feel cleaner honestly. The C3 brush works better I think.
As a dentist with 10 years of experience conducting clinical trials, I’d push back on this a bit. The evidence doesn’t really back up the recession claim that strongly. Multiple studies and systematic reviews comparing oscillating-rotation (Oral-B) to sonic brushes (Sonicare) haven’t found a meaningful difference in gum recession outcomes between the two. If Oral-B were causing recession in ‘many people,’ you’d expect that to show up pretty consistently in the research and it doesn’t. The other issue is confounding variables. Patients who develop recession may simply be brushing too hard regardless of which brush they use. Seeing recession in Oral-B users in a clinical setting doesn’t tell you whether those same people would have been fine with a Sonicare. They might just be aggressive brushers. Also worth noting that Oral-B’s pressure sensor gives immediate feedback when you’re pressing too hard, which could actually be more protective for people who naturally brush aggressively. The mechanical argument makes theoretical sense since oscillating rotation is a more forceful action, but there’s a gap between a plausible mechanism and a clinically proven real-world effect. ‘Many people’ is a pretty strong claim for what is really just anecdotal clinical observation
I don't know if there's any good ones. I guess there was a redesign in 2023? Which may explain why some people love it and others hate it depending on how recently they bought. The new ones seem to have a screw in the body that vibrates loose and makes the brushing action terrible. The cheap ones/double packs you get at Costco and Sam's club were terrible out of the box for me. The mid-level ones like 3000-4000 series used to be a good sweet spot, but also vibrated themselves apart for me. The expensive ones also seem to break, and now you're just out even more money. I had to swap to Oral B despite using Sonicare for decades previously
I will not deinfluence you. Mas okay ang Philips Electric Toothbrush Sonic series. There are some published studies na better ang mentioned brand na yun. Dentists also agree when it comes sa clean function and bristles shape.
Are they talking about brushing the denture or your posts? I use a Philips Sonicare, just a basic model on my posts and my remaining natural teeth. I brush the denture itself with a soft brush and denture paste or a denture tab and then brush.
I bought a basic Sonicare 10 years ago and it's still going. You have to buy replacement brush heads, of course, but the toothbrush itself is still good.
