This is a fact. I had the original sonicare which I loved except for the bulky replacement heads. When it died I bought a fancy one with different speeds etc. but only ever use it on ‘high’. I do like the quadpace timer though and would recommend that feature.
My first Sonicare toothbrush was their base version that sold for $78 at Target. This was in 2002 when there was on a few versions. The replacement head was some screw in type. That toothbrush handle lasted me 9 yrs. Nowadays, they definitely don’t last as long. I’d be lucky to get 3 yrs till the internal connector piece to the toothbrush head fails. You can YouTube how to “fix” them, but you’ll also see why it’s a terrible mechanical design.
Brushmo makes the like the original e series, had one for a year and still works great. My original sonic care lasted over 15 years, new ones are junk though.
Are they talking about brushing the denture or your posts? I use a Philips Sonicare, just a basic model on my posts and my remaining natural teeth. I brush the denture itself with a soft brush and denture paste or a denture tab and then brush.
I bought a basic Sonicare 10 years ago and it's still going. You have to buy replacement brush heads, of course, but the toothbrush itself is still good.
I like my Sonicare but honestly don’t buy them from Costco. The basic model is like $30 and works just as well. I do buy my replacement brush heads from Costco though, those are a good deal especially when on sale
Don't waste your money on all the extra features. The basic Sonicare is awesome.
Even the basic Sonicare model is excellent (the advanced ones are ridiculously expensive and do pretty much the same thing, but with an app) and you can easily find replacement brush heads on AliExpress.
This may or may not be helpful, but I bought a sonic toothbrush, only to find I couldn’t use it. The sonic vibration “tickled” the inside of my mouth and cheeks in a horribly annoying way. I ended up going back to a regular manually-vibrating [Oral-B](https://a.co/d/0m2bsHJ).
I don’t remember what Sonicare model I tried, sorry - most likely a baseline model. But I’m using the Oral-B I linked to, and no mold issues. I do dry it between brushings.
Get a standard Sonicare and a USB charger. The lightweights just don’t have the horsepower. I have used an Oral B with AA batteries, but it’s about the same as the Sonicare.
