Wonder if it's any better than the other Sonicare toothbrushes. I have a whole graveyard of them that die right around the 2 year mark. (Slightly after, when even the EUbbuyer protection expires)
I just bought another 9000-something Sonicare. - when this one breaks again, Ill try yours. Honestly i don't even know the difference between the models anyway.
Yup mine just broke down after 18 months (DiamondClean 9000 series) Going to order a cheaper one for replacement this time and see if it works as good
We are a family of four that's used them for around the same length of time. When something fails, it's always the same thing: there's a little screw inside the cover that attaches the brush head holder to the vibratory mechanism, and it jiggles itself loose. You know it because it sounds different suddenly. Anyway, almost always reparable, but sometimes you really have to work to get the cover off to access it. We've owned the current set of four since 2022 (4x sonicare 9000, black, white, pink, and blue so we could tell them apart) and in the meantime I've had to make the repair twice. I obviously really love them though.
You’re thinking about this the right way, the brush matters, but home care really is \~50% of the battle (often *more*) because it’s what you do every single day between professional cleanings. Even the “best” electric brush won’t help if the basics aren’t consistent: * 2 minutes, 2×/day * light pressure (let the brush do the work) * focus on the gumline + between teeth (floss/interdental brushes) A Sonicare 9000 is a totally solid, “safe pick”, but the real win is that you’re choosing a routine you’ll stick with.
Not sure if you’re still deciding, but your lean toward Philips Sonicare 9000 makes sense. Sonicare brushes are consistent, gentle on gums, and don’t rely on pressure like Oral-B. Replacement heads are easier to find long-term too. I’ve noticed many budget brushes, including Alibaba-style ones, copy the look but not the vibration quality, which matters most for daily use.

Oral B makes a good option too. I personally use the cheapest sonicare Diamond clean, mostly because the higher end models just have additional settings I never use. The cheapest model comes with 2 speeds (I use the higher speed) and some other shit I don't care about.
The Sonicare prestige or even the 9000 model has a travel case that can charge
Got the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9000 (2-pack). It is amazing. Beats the oral-b and oclean that I used to have. [edit: noticed another post and verified. Beware, mine was also made in China]
Get the Sonicare 9000. Quite compact and you can charge it using the case (USB-C).
They are the same the changes are purely cosmetic and 7100 doesn’t have a Bluetooth. I find 9000 completely useless as I don’t use Bluetooth nor pairing it with my smartphone. I find it ridiculous that it needs to know your location for whatever reason and you need this to be activated to use the app. Which imo is a violation of privacy
