go for [Philips Sonicare ](https://www.reddit.com/r/recsmatter/comments/1pswa4s/philips_sonicare_diamondclean_smart_9300_premium/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)rather than Oral-B many people prefer philips sonicare over oral b because the sonic vibration action feels gentler on gums while still removing more plaque than a manual brush sonicare tends to be better on the gums and generally more thorough, while oral b sometimes feels more intense but isnt always as comfortable for daily use.

My Phillips sonicare diamond clean has a charging cup and travel case! I’ve had it a few years now and I love it (it’s [this one](https://www.target.com/p/philips-sonicare-diamondclean-smart-9300-electric-toothbrush/-/A-91735623?preselect=89376318#lnk=sametab), I got mine at Costco). I have a similar problem bathroom and my personal rec would be to put the charger in another room (bedroom on a dresser works well!). This keeps it away from the toilet but removes the possibility of mold growth from keeping it in an enclosed space. The cup is dishwasher safe and I find it keeps any drips contained well!

Phillips diamond clean 9300 has been really good for me. I had a cheap Oral-B for the last couple of years and the new one I got is way more powerful but yet gentle and efficient as I could possibly ask for.

I got a Sonicare DiamondClean 9300 as a Christmas gift a few years ago, and at first I thought it was ridiculous. It comes in this fancy glass that doubles as a charger, a leather travel case, and has like five different brushing modes including “gum care” and “whitening.” I rolled my eyes hard. But after using it for a while, I actually noticed my gums stopped bleeding completely and my hygienist said my tartar buildup was much less than usual. I think part of it is that Sonicare’s vibrations are more subtle than Oral-B’s rotations—it feels like it’s flushing out debris between your teeth instead of grinding on the surface. It’s expensive, and I’d never have bought it myself, but now that I’ve had it I don’t think I could go back. The replacement heads are pricey, but I found generic ones on Amazon that work just as well. If you want the “luxury” electric toothbrush experience, this one is the Apple product of the category.

r/BuyItForLifeIs it worth paying more for the high-end Sonicares, or are the basic ones just as effective?

I love the deep clean mode they have on the 9300 models and above. That said, the 7500 series has the same deep clean but they only trigger it for the last 30 seconds of a 2 minute brush cycle, it's literally a paywall. For that reason, I do really like the DiamondClean series, but heavy asterisk!

I had one of the old diamondclean models and it stopped working so i ordered a new diamondclean model from philips which was useless - i ended up buying the older model from aliexpress and it worked perfectly

Bought the highest end sonicare set three times. One of the two always developed really loud buzzing sounds. Theoretically it could be fixed, but I opted to return and replace. After using sonicare for 15 years, what back to oral b. Design isn’t as slick, but works great and was way cheaper. We’ll see what my dentist says in six months.

Another Sonicare user here. My teeth are definitely cleaner since I switched from a rotary brush to this. I know it's anecdotal evidence, but I can feel the difference every day.

I'm mostly moving it and not applying a lot of pressure. I think in the user guide it said to use a ~45 degree angle, but I need to check. I have a higher-end Sonicare, but afaik it's the same speed of 62k brush movements/min as the one in the picture. It could be that my rotary brush was shit, but it did have a new brush. I definitely feel that my teeth are better brushed and stay also cleaner longer when I started brushing with Sonicare.

Sonicare diamond clean user here. Going strong 4th year. Before the black redesign i had the white one. It worked great no issues but the power button seal broke and I started getting water in so I replaced it.

I am not a fan of the vibrations of the SonicCare. Much prefer the oral-b heads and how it functions. I also like that after the 2 minute time it keeps going so I can get my tongue. I don't think either one is really better. Do it based on replacement head cost.
