Came across your post while researching about toothbrushes for my patients as I’m a dental hygienist. Not sure if this works the same way in your country but check out dental hygiene schools. We had to find our own patients and it was discounted heavily for very thorough cleanings and education. Great recs already posted here. Keep looking at Sonicare, the 4100 or 5700 models are quality for lower price point. I switched after using oral b io model. A proper hygienist should also talk to you about your diet and eating habits including nutritional counseling as the whole body is connected to your teeth. Cavities are not only genetic, they’re a curable disease often related to metabolic issues, dysbiosis and dysfunctional habits. Vitamin D and other vitamins/minerals are so important in the bone and cellular health so if you are deficient this could be contributing overall. As well as eating/drinking habits. You should reduce anything introduced to the mouth (except water) to only 20-30 min increments in meal time windows throughout the day. It’s constant fluctuations of pH levels that contribute to the enamel breaking down so constant snacking/sipping. If you do have anything to eat/drink, follow up with water and then brush 20 min later. And yes! A straw is a better option when drinking acidic drinks. Also make sure you do not have dry mouth. So staying hydrated and reducing mouth breathing- saliva delivers the good minerals to your teeth and rinses the bacteria off, so when you have dry mouth there is less of this happening. Use an electric Toothbrush or SOFT manual brush if you have to.

Ive always used Oral B but I felt like I needed to make a change. I did some research and found that the Phillips one was better for people with braces. Well I made the switch and they’re right! My teeth feel cleaner honestly. The C3 brush works better I think.

My last sonicare lasted over 7 years, it wasn't even dead when I ugraded to the $300 version and I have no regrets, it is something you use everyday, if not twice a day if it works it is worth it to last that long, in most cases you only have to worry about the battery losing charge and that is kind of unavoidable, unless you know of a brand that lets you repalce your own battery, although after like 10 years I would probably just want a new device with advances in tech and just general wear and tear.

My Sonicare with travel case (with integrated charger) is by far the best electric toothbrush I have ever used. Came here to say this.

Not bulky, no. And the built in charger is a blessing.

I've been using Sonicare toothbrushes forever. I usually get the package of 2 of them, in case I can convince my husband to use one (unsuccessful so far) or for travel. I like the one I have now since it has more "intelligence" and lets me know when to replace the brush head.

Yup mine just broke down after 18 months (DiamondClean 9000 series) Going to order a cheaper one for replacement this time and see if it works as good

I had one of the old diamondclean models and it stopped working so i ordered a new diamondclean model from philips which was useless - i ended up buying the older model from aliexpress and it worked perfectly

I had the Philips Diamondcare, it was fun for a bit. Nifty app and timer that helped me develop better habits, but then it died. Got them to replace it, and the next one died after a year. Instead of buying another I went with the cheapest Philip that had a timer. A tooth brush that has a 2 minute timer is good by me. Probably won’t go back to diamondcare…
