I love the deep clean mode they have on the 9300 models and above. That said, the 7500 series has the same deep clean but they only trigger it for the last 30 seconds of a 2 minute brush cycle, it's literally a paywall. For that reason, I do really like the DiamondClean series, but heavy asterisk!
I have sonicare 7500 going on 5 years now no issues
That’s a great reason to switch — an electric brush can really help build consistency, especially if you struggle to stay on top of technique or timing. The Oral-B iO and Sonicare lines both do an excellent job of improving coverage since they guide you through the process. For what you described, the smart feedback features actually help — pressure sensors and zone tracking are great for forming habits. The trick is not to overpay for features you won’t use daily. The mid-range models (like Oral-B iO5 or Sonicare ProtectiveClean/ExpertClean) hit the sweet spot with powerful cleaning, gentle gum care, and useful guidance without the luxury-tier price tag. I’ve reviewed several of these electric toothbrushes — including which “smart” features actually make a difference — here: https://greatestappliances.com/bathroom/personal-care/toothbrushes-electric You’ll find a few dependable picks that are perfect for turning a “bad brusher” into a consistent one.
I prefer Philipps sonic care expert. Very good brush. But defintly not for live. Battery will die at some point and the color in my black brush startet to fade at the leds
I have a sonicare (7300 I believe) and love it but the oral-b ii system are the best there are, if you go io3 or up.
I'm going against the grain to say Sonicare. I have both brushes. The design of the IO brush head has a small hole under the bristles where spit and toothpaste accumulates. Despite taking my brush head off and rinsing after every use, it quickly molds on the inside. It could be that I live in a humid environment (indoors usually 40%), but the mold is so gross. If you don't remove and clean it after every use it can mold even quicker. I love the feeling of the IO brush otherwise, but am sticking with Sonicare for everyday use.
