6100 model is $109 at the bullseye store. Edited to add I am aware the 6700 model is pictured. 6100 was closest I could find and thought it might be useful for comparison.

We bought a pair of the newer H series Philips Sonicare at Costco when Costco quit carrying the replacement heads for our older E series. Several years down the line and one of them (mine, of course) started making an awful racket. I discovered that the metal rod connecting the head to the base was sloppy loose and could be swiveled around, while hubby's was rock solid. I dug out one of the old ones that we'd thankfully kept along with the last unopened head and it still had a charge! I've been using that for the last few days and my teeth feel way cleaner. I'm going to buy some knockoff heads on Amazon and if those don't work out I'm going to buy the Oral B brand. I just don't have confidence in Philips anymore.

We started using ours in 2011. Still going on the original motor and battery. I had to replace the seal around the motor shaft where it protrudes through the top of the body because the original had a design flaw and it tore after 4 years or so, but that’s been it. I have a spare rechargeable battery on standby just in case, but I’ve never charged it since I bought it ten years ago, so I doubt it would even take a charge at this point. Not upset that I’ve never needed to install it though. That toothbrush is a beast!

The newer ones perform as well but don’t seem to last nearly as long. Clean the old one, it’s not difficult. Then make a point of taking the head off after post-use rinse so both pieces can dry separately. That’s important.

for EDS, the main things i'd focus on are a super soft bristle toothbrush (like the colgate extra soft or sensodyne pronamel soft), since a lot of us have gum sensitivity and fragile tissue that gets irritated easily. an electric toothbrush like an oral-B or sonicare on a sensitive setting can also be a game changer because you don't have to press as hard, which helps avoid bruising or micro-tears. for toothpaste, sensodyne is a pretty popular choice in this community because it's gentle and helps with sensitivity. biotene is another good one if you deal with dry mouth, which is pretty common with EDS and dysautonomia overlap. also worth mentioning since a lot of us deal with POTS or general dysautonomia alongside EDS, staying on top of electrolytes actually makes a real difference in how your whole body feels, including things like dry mouth and fatigue that can affect oral health. i've been using salties, which are just unflavored electrolyte drops, and they're easy to add to any drink without messing with your routine. but back to the actual dental stuff, definitely check with your dentist about fluoride treatments if you have enamel issues, and ask about a custom mouthguard if you're a jaw clencher since hypermobility can make TMJ stuff way worse.

Costco regularly has good deals on Sonicare sets and brush replacements. At least twice a year you can get a 2 pack for $75 or so. So worth it!!
