Took some searching because it doesn’t say on it, but it’s the sonicare protectivecare 4500. I got it on sale.
Mine is the “optimal clean” kind, so it just came with the bodies, replacement heads, and the charging stands. I think all sonicare products are good regardless of what type you get, just as long as it works for you!
I just bought this. Do you still like it? The glass seems interesting but I dunno. My 6000 broke and my fiancée’s 4500 seemed worse than manual brushing. So upgraded both of ours. Soooo many bells and whistles i’m not into; but the bad experience going down in model sent me up in model. Can’t really tell if it’s perception.
Same. I had HX6830 which is a mid price version and it was made in China. Lasted me about 1.5 years and stopped working. It was still under 2 years warranty and I got HX685B sent to me as a replacement, it’s a bit better model but still made in China.
I have both and prefer the Sonicare, but it’s personal preference.
Both are good options, just depends on what feels better in your hand and what features you’ll actually use. Sonicare has a stronger vibratory feel and is usually quieter, IO2 feels more like a gentle mechanical motion and tracks pressure well. Try whichever you’ll be consistent with, that matters more than brand.
I’ve had the most basic rechargeable 4000 series for like 5 years now. Still works like a champ. All those fancy alternate brushing patterns and connectivity seem silly. This buzzes every 15 seconds or something, and notifies when you’re brushing too hard, but otherwise: it’s on or off.
I’m a dental hygienist. You do not need a $380 electric TB. I do love a Sonicare but the ability of a toothbrush to light up and connect to Bluetooth in no way helps with oral hygiene. There’s a Sonicare protective clean on Amazon for like $70 or a Sonicare 4100 for $40. Those would both be great options on a budget
