I have a great hack. I once had to use my daughter’s sonicare kids toothbrush with my adult toothbrush head. I’m here to report it’s exactly the same as my adult sonicare. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but works 100% the same. They’re $30 on Amazon. When my toothbrush dies that’s what I will be purchasing. https://www.amazon.com/Sonicare-Bluetooth-Connected-Rechargeable-Toothbrush/dp/B07W3T1G7C/ref=mp_s_a_1_3_pp?crid=35W33YJ9LU9P2&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.eCvu9wZ0VpGJ4l6Dk_CS-ixuv1lmL8O4bICeXH55tro2bdPhecufeGRC6bnAVXb7XHCUVwVvtqFST8DOhqPWB4jPo_ilp8s_MF1N8sy6iDMTWQ0fZOrqQ19_T4pZi3MBQO7bJlbEA3pTUX11HAIlN2lVr6cvpFS6utmOM0aShAoImW5jcDuVIuADjwFU8kWLGGhl4wyruiDppDUCQTydaw.JH8CbVUz5RNZTCMJQFeUJExxUOL75bVjUjxwfxtLcVI&dib_tag=se&keywords=kids%2Bsonicare%2Btoothbrush&qid=1773348914&sprefix=kids%2Bsonicar%2Caps%2C1659&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1
It's been a minute since I went shopping for an electric toothbrush, but this was the lightest and smallest electric toothbrush with the same strength motor as other, full-sized toothbrushes in the Philips line. Search Amazon for: "Philips Sonicare for Kids 3+ Bluetooth Connected Rechargeable Electric Power Toothbrush, Interactive for Better Brushing, Pink, HX6351/41" It also takes the standard/cheaper heads. Obviously, for short trips, a reguar toothbrush is fine, but as a full-time traveler, it's important I have the good stuff with me. Also if you search Amazon for this text, you'll find the USB charger I purchased: "Replacement Philips Sonicare 4100 Charger Base, Electric Toothbrush and Flosser Charging with LED Indicator - Series 6100, 5100, HX9690 and More (USB Powered)" GL!
They are reliable brands with easy to find replacement heads. I like the Sonicare better for it's cleaning action, but in my experience Oral B lasts longer, and is superior for small mouths(although a children's Sonicare would also be a good fit for small mouths). My recommendation to every patient who is looking to go electric is to buy the cheapest model that still offers a pressure sensor.(The only caveat being that if you're a big gadget person and having a brush you can say connect to your phone gets you more excited about brushing by all means get the bells and whistles) There are A TON of competitors. Some good, some horrible. I loathe subscription services so any brand offering brush heads through a subscription basis are a big no for me(I'm looking at you, Burst)
I went from the most expensive one to the cheap kids model and noticed no difference in performance.
I have invisalign and use the kid's version of sonicare. I had the pricy one before and didn't notice any difference between the 2. I never used any of the extra features except the timer- which the kids version also has. I found that the pressure sensor wasn't necessary as you adjust easily from a regular toothbrush. FYI- don't brush your invialign, soak in retainer cleaning solution/tablets as brushing may damage them.
I had to get braces (3, almost 4 years) for the alignment due to jaw issues and the invisalign for retainers. My teeth are tightly spaced and the sonicare works really well getting things between them. The adult sonicare was about $100 way back when, then I bought the kid version (recharge-able one) for about $30 usd (was $45 with a $15 rebate). I use the compact head instead of the larger as it was more comfortable for me. I got my kids the battery operated ones for about $11 at christmas and these work well also.
I had the expensive one and eventually replaced it with the kids model since I didn’t feel like spending the money on the higher model and the kids version was on sale with a rebate to boot. The kids version is just as good and has actually lasted longer for me.
I bought the one for children and it was made in a 3rd world country (USA)...
Every sonicard that I've bought has broken down within 2 years. They are good but definitely not BIFL.
I will not deinfluence you. Mas okay ang Philips Electric Toothbrush Sonic series. There are some published studies na better ang mentioned brand na yun. Dentists also agree when it comes sa clean function and bristles shape.
I actually disagree with the other comment and prefer the oral B. I have both and I’ve been using the sonicaire for about a month now. They both are great but oral B feels more gentle. The sonicaire is pretty intense and since it’s larger I think there is slightly more potential to incorrectly clean the gums, causing damage.
Yeah it’s definitely a personal preference thing! I can understand why some people prefer the usual brush head of the sonicaire because it feels more familiar.
Yeah why does my oral B get moldy and my sonicaire doesn’t? Also an RDH. 😂
I prefer Oral B to my Sonicaire. Look up BASS brushing technique on YouTube but also there are videos how to specifically brush with an electric because you do not need to use a scrubbing motion.
I prefer the oral B iO. Oral B brush head is better in general when used properly imo especially in the back. The only thing I do prefer about the sonicaire is they don’t get that mold issue that oral B has not figured out yet. I just have to frequently remove and clean out the brush head area on the oral B.
I have an electric toothbrush and a WaterPik (the WaterPik is for flossing, but with water, and works surprisingly well for it... got it mostly to clean my sockets out when I got my wisdom teeth removed, but that's another tangent). I use a Philips Sonic Care. It has multiple modes of vibration for you to choose from, and you can turn the intensity up over time as you get used to it. Alternatively, if the vibration REALLY bothers me that day (because it still happens) I put on my Heavys, turn on Hellblocker, and blast music.
