I also have a Philips Sonicare, for 5 years, and have liked it a lot more than others I’ve tried. Others I’ve had were the Quip subscription model (battery life got worse over time, and easy to break the mount for the heads), and an older model of Oral-B that doesn’t seem to currently exist (due to the shape it easily grew mold in the crevices). As the other replier says, I don’t know about the sustainability of creating them, I’m guessing they’re all bad, but if I don’t need to replace them often that improves things. It’s like buying a car: every car’s manufacture is horrible for the environment, but if you can keep one many years, then you’re not adding more carbon to the environment as frequently.
Seconding Quip! I have one of the smaller OG quips and it's so compact it would be dumb to bring a non-electric brush (IMO).
I have the smaller OG quip as my travel toothbrush as well. It doesn't get my teeth quite as clean as my big, heavy electric toothbrush, but the weight tradeoff is absolutely worth it.
I have a Quip toothbrush that I keep in my toiletries bag for travel. It's their most lightweight model. It isn't as good as my everyday use electric toothbrush, but it is better than a manual toothbrush. Mine uses a single AAA but I think that the newer models use a proprietary charging cable.
I used to use a quip (the small travel version). It wasn’t great, and I broke one trying to get it apart to change the battery. Recently I bought an Oclean travel toothbrush, it’s a lot better than the quip. Almost the same form factor and takes a usb-c so no extra cables. The brushing action is more rigorous than the quip - not as good as the larger toothbrushes like sonicare, but it’s decent for travel.
I really like my quip though I have the older non smart version so ymmv
The original motor Lasted 5ish years and the current one has been going strong for over a year.
I will have times where I'm not able to have phone service for weeks at a time so I don't even carry a phone at those times. It being connected to an app really turns me off LOL
Interesting! Looks like i may be sticking with quip after the one I have now dies after all.
I switched from my reliable Braun to Quip about five years ago and have never looked back. Cleans great. It's the perfect travel toothbrush, comes in its own travel case that also serves as a self-adhesive mirror mount that you can attach and detach in two seconds and lasts for years. I use the disposable battery model and the battery lasts for at least 3 months. I think they also make a rechargeable one now but I've never tried it, the disposable battery option works great for me. Quip Sonic Toothbrush https://share.google/KjRWvn7bc9WfEjVl7 Edit: added link
I don't know about you, but my quip gave out after a year or so and it was also one of the older ones. I switched to a Philips sonicare that's been going strong for almost 4 years now though.
I like the Quip brand.
More expensive version tracks your brushing and cleaning to see if you’re doing it properly, and gives you points you can redeem for other items in their store. The cheap version you can simply buy the toothbrush head replacements for likr 5? dollars (or 10, i forgot) and itll last you at least 3-4 months each. Plus the batteries are replaceable. So really, i just first bought the expensive one first, i think it was rechargeable, and after the battery agrd i just bought the cheap one and have kept the same habits i learned from the tracked one.

I used to use an Oral B at home and tried a few different ones when traveling - a Quip, Philips One, one of the AA powered Oral B. The home use Oral B was powerful but messy, and the travel brushes I tried were little more than a manual toothbrush with vibration. So recently I picked up the Laifen Wave to use for both home and travel. It charges with any USB C, lasts about a month, doesn't spew like my Oral B did, and its super powerful. I've had it about two months, which included just one short trip so far, but I'm really pleased. The only downside I've found is that its not super light, more like midweight.
I use a Quip. They send a new aaa battery and toothbrush head every three months. They’ve also replaced the motor twice in five years after they fail. I’m very happy with it.
