Can you put the drip tray into dishwasher? I always do that on my oracle touch
Get the Breville Oracle Touch. You can upgrade the girlfriend later.
No regrets so far, 2 days in. lol. It’s so quiet! The steam wand is so powerful compared to other machines I’ve used (Breville Oracle touch, Breville Nespresso pod machine). Its small footprint is much appreciated, though I find myself already longing to get a drip tray with an integrated scale for that little bit of extra cup room. Heats up quickly, and seems to heat the portafilter up quickly as well, if I forget to lock it in place the night before. One question: I seem to be setting the Df64V grind setting at least 5 or more notches higher than with the flair 58. Is this normal? I’m using both with filter paper at the bottom and the flair 58+2 puck screen at the top…
As a former 2 times Oracle Touch owner, don't buy it. It broke, twice. Descaling issues and more. I have a Bambino Plus and a seperate grinder (Eureka) - tastes sooo much better than the Oracle.
The barista pro is the best of the affordable ones. I started with the express later upgraded to the pro had that a while loved it then thought to upgrade to the oracle touch hated it now I have the oracle jet and so far I love it.
I have the touch one. It's life changing. Solid 7.5 to an 8/10 coffee and its 3 buttons to press. Highly recommended over the lower end models. Auto milk and frothing is glorious.
So my machine is rated at like 2.5kW (Oracle Touch), but it also has a built-in grinder, and my understanding is that the peak power draw rating is for when you’re pulling a shot, steaming milk, and grinding for the next shot all at the same time, which I never actually do (because I don’t use the built-in grinder anymore, but that’s a different conversation). I remember buying a power plug back home to measure the usage in actual usage and it was ~1300W at peak (but can’t find the screenshots now), so decided to risk it. The transformer is rated at 2500W, but AIUI that’s impossible to actually draw from an outlet here, given all breakers are rated at 20A, it’s this exact model: https://amzn.asia/d/0hWexSl9 By all accounts all steps in this process have been dumb and risky and had chance of not working out, but I have not had any problems with it for the past ~two years.
