I have the citiz platinum and that’s the closest to replacing both in my opinion it makes two sizes of americanos as well as they typical expresso and lungo and you can use third party brands . But they creatisa are really nice but if you want it to make coffee not just espresso get the vertuo creatisa. If you just want to replace the keuring get the original vertuo with the dome top. We don’t know if the vertuo up will break like the Next did yet.
I have the Nespresso Citiz Platinum. It has four options to make coffee. Espresso, Lungo, Americano, and Americano XL. If you want stronger coffees go with espresso or lingo and to stretch it out you two pods. I also have a Keurig K-Cafe to offset the expense and use ground coffee. Biggest reason it has a frother built on the side that stirs lattes and cappuccinos hot or cold. Good luck and welcome to the Espresso fam.
For both the OL and Verturo Lines Of the machines under 400... Which is the most advanced (or easiest) Which connect to the app (espexially OL)and are they all basically the same? For that matter do any OL connect to the app befause Im sure my pixie has had enough of my tomfoolery. And if you have one from each line (I currently have the pop and pixie) are there two that really compliment eachother? Especially if you want to experiment with a pod from each line together. I know or \*think\* the UP and new a Citiz are the latest releases (in this price point) but that doesnt always mean an upgrade of quality/features \*I know to steer clear of the Next\* Oh, and is anyone privy to any other models soon to be released (probably not the VL) LOL Some of my questions may seem obvious or repeated. I’m new to the board, and as I learn, I have questions. 😅
Thank you so much for your time and effort! This was exactly what I needed! The information on the Delonghi I never would have guessed was coming- especially since I hadnt seen it there! I also just finally found an excellent fronther. I also love an immersion blender thet is great but really only for cold or I want to grab something quick (it is wireless. Also cows milk and heavy whipping cream). Oh snd especially the citizi platinum- that one was calling me for some reason. Lol See and that was my confusion with the VL lines. There are so many. Once you know to skip the Next...there are so many models. I tried to use the compare feature but it was just over sensory. I know the UP is the newest but it seems like some that have come before have better features. But based on what your saying, nothing seems worth it to change. 🥰
I’ve owned the CitiZ & Milk for over two years now totally blends into my morning routine. milk frother gives creamy lattes like a cafe and the crema holds up even when I stretch shots. If both espresso and milk drinks are your thing, the Original line like CitiZ nails the flavour and crema more than the Vertuo. Vertuo is awesome for larger coffees but the crema’s different more frothy than dense. On a tighter budget. Essenza or Pixie do the job just add a good frother. What really makes a difference though is regular cleaning & descaling. Also stick with one pod type to avoid confusion. If I needed to buy another now, I’d still go with CitiZ & Milk solid all rounder.
If you like black coffee and also want the espresso shot for your weekend mocha, an Original Line Nespresso (like a Citiz & Milk or Pixie/Essenza Mini + Aeroccino frother) is often the best bet.
I have the Breville Barista Express, plus a Philips 4x00 lattego, plus a Nespresso Cities and Milk. The Breville makes the best coffee out of the 3, the Nespresso the most convenient, and the Philips is in-between and gets used the most. Even given the price, the Breville still takes "tuning" as the outcome is very sensitive to beans (type, roast, roaster, age, etc. all need different settings) Get a Gaggia classic and one of the white box grinders (DF64) for a good starting point. Espresso often turns into a hobby bordering on obsession, so be warned. :D
