Highly recommend the De’Longhi Magnifica ECAM 370.70.SB. It’s simple, easy to use, easy to clean and has a bunch of features if you want to tweak the settings.

Call me crazy if you want, but hear me out 1st. Youre going to be hard pressed to make coffee shop coffee from a cheap mr. Coffe drip style coffee machine. My wife and i did the math and it was pretty shocking. We got a Delonghi with the milk dispenser and integrated grinder. It was not cheap, but it actually paid for itself quite quickly. Iirc it was less than a year. Remember, if the coffee isnt good or it doesnt come out the way you want it to, youll just go back to buying coffee. We went with the DeLonghi Dinamica. Dont wright off the expensive machines just yet.

I looked at it. I ended up buying a DeLonghi super automatic instead. With the very convenient to use+clean milk carafe that comes with it for cappuccinos and milk-based drinks. I can't speak on the quality of espresso he makes. I've tried a few machines before buying mine and I was happy with the DeLonghi dinamica . Knowing then what I know now, and how much we enjoy and use the machine, I would have probably splurged and got a KitchenAid kf7. The big question is do you require a machine that makes milk-based drinks? Like cappuccino and lattes. Also looking after sales support. A lot of the gaskets o-rings, seals, etc. Will go after a few years of use. You want to make sure you get a machine that is easily serviceable by you or affordable to do by technician

I also was thinking about getting one for many years and finally I decided to make the jump. I had Nespresso capsules and I realized based on my usage last year I could pay back the cost of the machine by saving on capsules. I think the payback time was 3.5 years. Anyways just my two cents I debated between cheap ones middle of the road and expensive ones. I could certainly afford the more expensive one but I also want to justify the money I'm spending and I want to feel good about it at the end. I ended up going with a DeLonghi Dinamica from Costco. I believe it has a 3 yr warranty and a good reliability status overall. Based on all my research I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts me 10 years before a major expense. As far as the coffee goes. Through owning it I realized that the beans made a big difference. I'm getting a more premium bag now which costs $10 more than my previous one. But I am really enjoying straight espresso shots. no sugar no milk nothing. I never thought I would be enjoying straight espresso so much. I've tasted better for sure. From $6000 machines. But this comes very close to it. And to have that luxury to have one in the afternoon every day... Heaven .... In the morning I'll prefer an Americano or a cappuccino. I find The Milk Jug system very convenient. Again to be able to have a quality cappuccino every morning is a privilege in my eyes and you will get that with any machine that you decide to go with. Based on your drink of choice, I would advise to have on your top criteria a machine that has an easy cleaning system for the milk jug. That was kind of important to me. I don't think you can go wrong with a Jura. Take care of it cleared often and it will last your lifetime

For what it's worth after a bit of research I found that Delonghi is the safest bet, middle of the road brand. It's not a Philips but it's also not a jura. That's why I got a dinamica and if I like it enough after a few years (it's been 1 already) I will upgrade

This is exactly us except we bought the Delonghi Dinamica Plus (after previously owning a Delonghi/Nespresso that was bulletproof for years). Very happy with it as well.

r/superautomaticIf I'm mainly going to be drinking coffee with milk and sugar, is it really worth buying a more expensive machine?

I think there is a pretty notable difference. I went from a Philips 5400 (same machine as the 3200/3300 just fancier features) to a using my brother in laws Delonghi Dinamica Plus pretty regularly, to the KitcheAid KF8 we have now and I would say every one of them was a noticeable jump in quality even though we drink milk drinks 90%+ of the time. The real question I think is if the KF8 is 50% better than the Philips since that is about the price difference and personally I think so, but I’d wager that most people would find it to fall in the diminishing returns category.

My personal opinion is Jura is at the top for pure drink quality, and KitchenAid for the best blend of UI, drink quality, and ease of maintenance. We personally chose a KF8 for our house after trying or owning a machine from basically every manufacturer that is readily available in the US. Delonghi while good, I just don’t think is really on the same level as those two. I find our KF8 and the Juras I’ve tried make a superior drink to my brother in laws Dinamica Plus by a pretty significant margin and the KF8 has a better UI and easier maintenance.

We've had a delonghi dinamica bean to cup since covid and its running perfectly. Great piece of kit, used many times a day, every day.

I have a Delonghi Dynamica Plus. It took about 25 drinks before I settled on the grind size, beans I liked, and the drinks I wanted to stick with. Very satisfied with the machine speed and drink quality. They couldn't continue to sell thousands of machines if customers didn't think they were worth it.

r/superautomaticI'm tired of the effort of manual espresso. I just want my milk drinks with my little espresso in there, and particularly iced. What's good in the USA, in the 1500-2500 range?

Short answer: Quality. Long answer: You need to try it out yourself. I went to my local Williams Sonoma and tried out the Philips Lattego, Delonghi Dinamica plus and Jura Z10. And also the Breville impress touch semiauto. I was pretty sure I would get the Delonghi. But after we tried the Jura, it really was no match. The Breville Semiauto and Jura Z10 were the same quality, others just tasted vastly inferior. So I’d recommend calling a local williams Sonoma, asking if they do demos and if they have the 3-4 machines you’re interested in trying and try them out.

Magnifica Plus or Dinamica Plus (if you want to stick to Costco) is your best choice. Best milk and espresso.
