I have a Delonghi Magnifica S (ECAM23.420.SW) that is nearly 6 years old that I use several times a day. It's done everything I've asked of it. It's done something on the order of 8000 coffees.
Having owned a Delonghi ECAM 23.420 for several years, I've now been the proud owner of a Rivelia for a month. Here's my experience: Delonghi machines make excellent coffee, but regular maintenance is essential if you want to keep them for many years. This includes descaling, replacing the water filter, and cleaning both the exterior and interior. After 4 or 5 years, water leaks start to appear, but the internet is full of tutorials for fixing them. With just a few dozen euros (for a machine worth several hundred), if you're a bit resourceful, you can repair it yourself, and it will be like new for many more years. Mine has been working perfectly for 10 years and is currently for sale on Leboncoin (a French classifieds website). 😁 So, I bought my magnificent Rivelia, which, by the way, cost an arm and a leg 😅, but I have no regrets. It took some effort to fine-tune the settings, and the coffee is EXCELLENT. I love really strong coffee and I'm not even at half the strength setting. There's a great selection of coffees and milk-based drinks; there's something for everyone. And of course, the machine is gorgeous—it looks like something straight out of Dallas in my kitchen 😁. In short, no regrets, we'll see how it holds up over time.
Disagree with that My Delonghi been to cup must have made over 10000 coffees without any issues.
That's subjective. I've been more than happy with the coffee from our Delonghi bean to cup
I looked at it. I ended up buying a DeLonghi super automatic instead. With the very convenient to use+clean milk carafe that comes with it for cappuccinos and milk-based drinks. I can't speak on the quality of espresso he makes. I've tried a few machines before buying mine and I was happy with the DeLonghi dinamica . Knowing then what I know now, and how much we enjoy and use the machine, I would have probably splurged and got a KitchenAid kf7. The big question is do you require a machine that makes milk-based drinks? Like cappuccino and lattes. Also looking after sales support. A lot of the gaskets o-rings, seals, etc. Will go after a few years of use. You want to make sure you get a machine that is easily serviceable by you or affordable to do by technician
Breville Bambino was good to us for years before we got a super automatic dehlonghi for Christmas!
I have that machine. Maybe one shot as a break in. Delonghi seems ready to go on the first brew, at least that machine.
At that price range get a Delonghi super automatic machine. Better shots than a Gaggia Brera (which I have and is fine for a non expert) and better bang for buck than Jura by a mile. If you need super easy foamed milks consider a separate foamer.
Delonghi Bean to cup machine from their eBay store. Waited until there was a voucher code and our machine ended up £150 less than the cost of a new one. Does 10-12 shots/coffees a day. Beans from Lidl at £10 a kilo or from Costco when we pass them. £4 filter change every 2 months. Nespresso was costing us £50 a month (original capsule machine) and we bought out 1st bean to cup 8 years ago. That one died after 6 years of hard labour.
