I have absolutely no problem with them when they work but the grinder on my Laspecialista seized with the slip clutch engaged. It was unable to reliably grind a medium roast coffee. I had no access to the burrs and could not clear the obstruction...... which was only medium roast beans. There are videos on YouTube of people having the same problem. It even did this in a review yet I stupidly bought one anyway and then had the same problem. https://youtu.be/ZR6GvfMLp5U?si=pLhxs65Jbr14gKKJ One thing about Breville machines is that they clearly put an emphasis on the grinder. They have baratza precision burrs, are easily accessible, cleanable, and have additional internal adjustments. The beans my specialista seized on are the same medium roast beans I have been using in my DeLonghi super automatics without issue. The grinder on the la specialista touch is of a poor design, was not sufficiently tested, cannot reliably grind medium roast beans, and as such is a total disappointment.
We ended up getting a delonghi la specialista touch. The built in grinder crapped out a month in and we just got the replacement but got a separate grinder and it’s 10000% better than before. Not sure how similar these machines are but would recommend a different grinder if so
Have both delonghi specialista touch and Jura z8 and for milk based I suggest delonghi
I used that machine everyday for 3 years until it died on me recently. It’s a great little machine! Though we since upgraded to the La Specialista and having the bean grinder is great.
DeLonghi LaSpecialista. I've had min3 for close to 5 years, and it feels like it's still brand new. I love the built-in tamper and grinder, and I love how easy it is to make great drinks with it. If you're really into making a great espresso shot, you can buy replacement portafilters to replace the pressurized one that comes with it. From what I've read, the new models have regular portafilters.
We bought a De Longhi La Specialista as our first home coffee machine and love it! Grinder and tamper built in, the milk wand has a flat or froth option. So easy. Had it for 5 years and haven’t had any issues with it.
The DeLonghi Specialista is solid but honestly you might be better off getting a separate cold brew maker for like $30 and putting that money toward a better espresso setup. Most "cold brew" features on espresso machines are just iced coffee which isn't the same thing at all If you're set on all-in-one though the Breville Barista Express checks most of your boxes and has way better build quality than DeLonghi in my experience
Delonghi la specialista. Built in grinder. Even my partner can use it
Delonghi Bean to cup machine from their eBay store. Waited until there was a voucher code and our machine ended up £150 less than the cost of a new one. Does 10-12 shots/coffees a day. Beans from Lidl at £10 a kilo or from Costco when we pass them. £4 filter change every 2 months. Nespresso was costing us £50 a month (original capsule machine) and we bought out 1st bean to cup 8 years ago. That one died after 6 years of hard labour.
Disagree with that My Delonghi been to cup must have made over 10000 coffees without any issues.
That's subjective. I've been more than happy with the coffee from our Delonghi bean to cup
