Some have the Latte Crema milk system and others have a wand some have 7 recipes and some have 5 then some of them its about the finish, black silver. Also you have the EVO next which has a screen over the icon selection but all all work the same We have the 7 recipe EVO with latte crema option been a great machine easy to use since 2024 mostly do milk based drinks and over ice. good review of the evo [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXNYcTYjMEg&t=473s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXNYcTYjMEg&t=473s)
Not on your list but we went from Nespresso Original line to a Delonghi Evo with Latte crema system back in early 2024. We have made over 2,000 drinks on the machine with the most of them Latte or Cappuccino its been a very good machine. We were not sure about making the jump so we looked at entry/mid level machines to test out with our first machine and we could not be happier. We had a Delonghi Nespresso Machine that we had for many years and is still working and with our daughter today so i did feel that we had some history with the company. Regardless of machine the beans you use will define the coffee and you may have do some testing and adjustments to get the coffee you like, Do not use oily or flavored beans
Great machine made over 1000 milk based drinks very easy to use and clean
We have the Evo with the latte Auto milk system it is a very good machine we have done over 3,000 milk based drinks since 2024 and its working great, son also does over ice every day. very easy to clean and maintain Entry level machine in reality and simple 7 recipes with some customization No fancy screen or app connectivity Can be bought on sale for $600 or less
keep with the pods, there is no home based system that will do this day in and day out add to the cleaning requirements in a group who most likely will not be responsible it will become tiresome quickly. For most office based requirements its best to rent or lease a unit that comes with care support and these machines are setup for a high number of drinks. Philips is not one that is reccomended mostly you will see Jura, Kitcheaid or Delonghi We have a Delonghi Evo at home and we drink about 5 to 6 coffees a day every day and i do most of the cleaning with others adding water, beans or milk as needed. Its worked well for this scenario in 2 years and about 3,000 drinks but i take full responsibility for the care.
You have not identified a budget which would be helpful or other wants of this machine which would help the community provide options. Most Super Automatics come with a Frother or Milk delivery system for those people that do not want milk drinks usually buy the one without the Milk system and then only use the frother if they want to make the odd milk based drink. We have a Magnifico EVO with milk system and its a very good entry level machine they also make a version with a frother that is at a lower price. Its on sale many times through the year and so can be had for around $500US
More than a Million and lots of good feedback in these threads We purchased a Delonghi Evo in 2024 as our first SA having been Nespresso original line users for many years. We were not sure if the SA would be for us but we had very good experience of Delonghi machines and so after much research and a similar budget we were lucky to find the EVO machine on sale for $600CAD so we took the plunge. This is the entry level machine so it does not have a screen juts button selection but the features and the output is very similar to the more expensive options. We chose the version with the milk carafe not the wand again had used a similar unit on the Nespresso machine. Our main drinks are milk based with Latte or Cappuccino and then espresso and our son likes over ice. We have made over 3,000 drinks since new its been an outstanding machine easy to setup and use and easy to maintain not sure what we would replace it with in the future as a tool it does what we need. You mention Long regular coffee i do think this is the weakness of the entry level machines as you are limited by puck size for a long drink you can supplement this an additional shot if you like strong long coffee. We use the bypass ground chute for decaffeinated coffee if needed its no where as good as the puck coffee however we have tried a few types of decaffeinated ground coffee. Good luck on your journey
We have the EVO with Latte crema option and the only difference to the next i believe is the Next has a screen where as the EVO has selection buttons. I like a Strong Cappuccino or Latte so i do a regular 3 bean Drink option then add a second shot of espresso and its as strong as i like it and i drink double espresso when we go out. But as the chart says the EVO is limited to 10g at max The only issue with these types of machines is that they have a maximum puck size typically meant for espresso based drinks so when you need a long drink you may add a shot to a regular black drink. For us the Evo is a great machine and very easy to use and maintain and we use it a lot over 3,000 drinks since 2024. We don't use a turntable as we have the room but we push it back and forwards on the counter as we like it back when not in use and no issues with that process.
We have an Evo and its great for espresso based drinks like Latte, Cappuccino or espresso, we also do over ice which is good too. However long coffee are not the best as you are limited by maximum dose of puck and the bypass chute for ground coffee is restricted to a small amount. Also if you are making a coffee early morning they are not quiet so you need to be aware of this as well. Maintenance is easy in reality but you do need to do this every day if you drink multiple drinks You should not use oily or flavored beans in these machines and if you want to change beans you may need to adjust the grind to get the best out of the beans If you want the long coffee option then a super automatic may not be the best solution
The Evo is the entry level machine with a milk frother is around $600 on sale and will do Lattes very well once you have the bean dialed in on the machine. Here is a good video of the EVO [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXNYcTYjMEg&t=476s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXNYcTYjMEg&t=476s)
I have the EVO ours has a few more options like over ice on the buttons but the machine is the same otherwise. We drink a lot of coffee in the house so maybe 6 drinks a day with some of those doubles and so we have made well over 3,000 drinks on the machine since 2024 most of those are milk based. Very easy to use and maintain One tip is that you need to disassemble the milk carafe (5 separate parts) and soak in very hot soapy water every 3 days as a part of the maintenance and you should have no issues. In Ontario as well we have the Delonghi Evo got it on sale with tax for $600CAD last march Made over 1,000 milk based drinks on the machine its been very good and easy to use and to maintain We had been Nespresso Original line drinkers before and had very good reliability from Delonghi machines in the past. Its an entry level machine but makes coffee like most of the expensive models but without the fancy screen and apps. The beans you use and the settings will define the coffee you get out of these machines Video Comparison on three Delonghi models [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kGtVa8pfoc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kGtVa8pfoc)
As others have said this is daily question machines from Delonghi, Jura and KitchenAid are the ones that get the most votes. All of them when dialed in with the right beans will make a good espresso and they have machines with a steam wand so you can make a milk based drink when you need or a milk system. Wee have a Delonghi Evo with the latte crema system its entry level super but its very good If you just want the best espresso only may want to ask here [https://www.reddit.com/r/espresso/](https://www.reddit.com/r/espresso/)
we have an Evo with the latte cream system since 2024 its been a great machine and very easy to use and maintain even new users in the house as its just has selection icons you can modify the recipes as well. we have made well over 3,000 milk based drinks in this time and many over ice as well as regular drinks you can find the Evo on sale and the upgraded next is the same machine just with a screen here is a video comparing the EVO with two other more expensive Delonghi models [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kGtVa8pfoc&t=4s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kGtVa8pfoc&t=4s)
Not really and if you not wanting to clean i would avoid a super automatic and you will find most recommendations are for Delonghi, Jura or Kichenaid machines Cleaning them is easy but its something you need to do We have a Delonghi Evo with the latte cream option and we make latte and Cappuccino drinks every day we have made well over 1,000 in the past year. Milk carafe can be topped up and put in the fridge for 3 days before cleaning - Cleaning for me is taking it apart (there are 5 separate pieces) i put them in a jug with hot soapy water and soak them for 15 minutes and then rinse with hot water let them dry and then fill up with milk and put in the fridge for next drink. You will need to empty out the puck bin every other day if you use it a lot and if not every 3 to 4 days and wash out to avoid mold. Same time as emptying pucks you will empty the drip tray this collects water that rinses the nozzles on startup and shut down and also rinses internally. Water tank will require filling every other day if you drink a lot Water tank has a filter you can replace every 2 months i use filtered water so its not a requirement and the machine can be run without filter. Depending upon the hardness of your water (You set this on the machine at the beginning) you will need to descale from either every month (very hard water) or every 6 months (Very soft Water) Every 3 months or less its up to you you will need to remove the brew group/Infuser unit (this is the unit where the puck is formed and the water goes through the puck and then the spent puck is pushed off into the puck container )and so you soak this in very hot water and rinse off and dry and then re-install. You will also need to add beans to the machine as some rate depending upon coffee shots made can be every other day or longer. wiping the outside of the machine should be done every week and cleaning of the sensor that detects the milk on the front of the machine. So No! based upon your requirements you should avoid a super automatic machine as they are all basically the same for cleaning :)
Most super automatics are focused on espresso based drinks we have a Delonghi Evo which is an entry level machine that makes good espresso and can also do long blacks. However puck is the same so its more water through same volume of coffee on a longer drink you can get one with a manual steam wand which is lower cost. We mainly drink cappuccinos our son drinks over ice long drinks and we are all happy with the output. I don't know but i assume the more you spend the potential for bigger pucks and so stronger long drinks maybe an option. Just remember whatever machine you buy the beans and the grind define the taste
Delonghi would be the one but you should look at the Evo as its a better comparison to the Philips do you need all the expensive options? Had an Evo since July 2024 its been a revelation when moving from Nespresso the coffee quality is very good and cleaning and maintenance is very easy. Most feedback will be for Delonghi, Jura or Kf7 machines as real options
We have the one with milk carafe as we like milk drinks we have made over 1,000 so far on the Evo its been awesome. We also have the over ice option which our son loves and uses everyday and he was not a coffee drinker and now he is :) The one with the wand is less money and would still give you the option for milk drinks when you want.
This question comes up multiple times a day and lots of great feedback if you search You have not provided any financial budget values or details like type of drinks milk or cold brew so it makes it harder to give you feedback If you want one that makes a coffee automatically when you wake up not sure they exist as all require to be turned on manually. We have a Delonghi Evo had it since 2024 and we have the latte cream system as we like Cappuccinos and Latte type drinks and also over ice. we have made over 3,000 drinks on the machine. Its under$1k and can be had on sale for around $600 easy to use and easy to clean
There is no counter on the EVO other machines with screens or Apps track them there. In our case we have multiple drinkers in the house and so at least 5 drinks a day every day from the machine and some of those are doubles so this is the general count based upon usage of shots in our household.
Most of the app driven machines are about profiles and customization of drinks and all these machines have to go through a warm up process before you can dispense a shot. If black coffee is your main drink then a super automatic may not be the best machine they make excellent espresso based drinks including milk based but the long coffee is not always the best you can certainly make a long black drink and even add an extra shot as well. Our son really likes over ice but he is not a strong coffee drinker so its good for him.
Just got De'Longhi Magnifica Evo 81TB and it makes barista quality coffee. It's got automatic milk frother, self cleaning and bunch of other features so checks all your boxes. I'm extremely happy with this machine so can't recommend enough.
That's a good price! I have the exact same machine as pictured. I payed 550 euro in Belgium, bought around Christmas time. I came from a nespresso pod machine. This is a big step up. I almost only use the third button (coffee). I don't do milk in my coffee so I haven't even used the steamer yet lol. I love the simplicity amd ease of use. Any guest at my house can use it without any help. Only the initial setup and dialing in was a bit more of a an undertaking than I initially expected. But now it's smooth sailing. I already found some amazing beans! Everywhere I go I bring back new beans to try now. If you have fresh coffee roasters nearby I definitely recommend a fresh roast. I swear it's almost like cocaine or something 😂
I have the same one. For espresso only it’s great, but capuccino doesn’t work anymore for no reason.
[I got this one ](https://www.briscoes.co.nz/product/1099270/de-longhi-magnifica-evo-fully-automatic-coffee-machine-black/) on one of briscoes 50% off sales. So its a bit out of your price range. The automatic function is awesome and it makes a good enough coffee for myself, not a connoisseur though. My only remarks being the water tank needs to be bigger. Feel like I fill it up all the time - it must purge a whole lot internally for some reason as the drip tray fills regularly. The puck tray should be bigger. Sometimes the sensor comes up with only 3 in there. It needs to be descaled? Often and uses like 2 tanks and takes ages. So now I just ignore it. But i love the convenience of filling the milk and pressing one button. It makes my coffee while I'm getting other things ready in the morning. Really easy to use.
I bought the $399 refurbished Delonghi Magnifica Evo from Woot/Amazon and coming from a manual Breville Barista and a Baratza Sette 270 grinder I’m actually really impressed and will probably just roll with the Magnifica going forward. If purchased brand new they would be about the same price as the Delonghi and vice versa FWIW. I don’t need the freshest beans to produce a decent enough shot for cappuccinos and lattes. Clean up is a relative breeze. Other members of the household can figure out how to use it quite easily compared to a manual espresso machine even if it had a lot of bells and whistles. Will I still keep and use the Breville+Baratza? Of course, especially if I find particularly fresh and tasty beans. But for an everyday coffee machine I would choose the Delonghi (I think the Magnifica Start is identical in terms of coffee making abilities to the Evo but with less settings out of the box and a smaller price IIRC) ETA: currently using bean setting 3 (largest), and hottest brewing setting. I haven’t messed with custom stuff like water amount used per shot but I have only had the thing for about a week so give me some more time
I have had mine for almost 2 years now. I have no desire to get something else.
I wanted to buy semi automatic so bad but my wife who was expecting a child told me that we won’t have time to do all that espresso things. Now I just press an “espresso” button on my DeLonghi Magnifica Evo and that’s it. I know that it is not a “proper” espresso but hey I just want to quickly have a coffee while playing with my kid in the mornings.
