Only had the machine a couple of days so still bedding it and and getting used to everything. I've been switching on the machine and making a single drink. Would it make hotter drinks if I left it a few minutes before brewing or even ran some hot water first ? I always preheat my cup too.
Early thoughts are mostly positive. Made my first flat white and the flow seemed to be a bit drippy so may have to change the setting to 4. Still tasted good though. Only small gripe for me so far is the drink temperature. Even on the highest setting it doesn't seem hot enough.
Made a Cappuccino mix this morning. Size L (although it wasn't that much bigger than a standard one in my opinion) tasted good the temperature was only in the low 50's °C. Had to drink it in a couple of minutes before it went cold.
I picked up the black machine and one slight annoyance as I like milk based drinks, is that for some reason it doesn't have a preset recipe for Latte or Cortado yet the other coloured machines do. As far as I know the machines are the same apart from the colour. Is there a way to make your own Cortado or Latte ? This machine does make a damned good flat white.
Still finding it tricky to get a consistent drink I'm 100% happy with. Espresso shots look good with a nice consistency and crema but have a bitterness to them. I've read and watched people dialing in Magnifica Evo machines and they seem to adjust the amount of water pulled in shots but can't see an option on the Plus. Once I have Espresso I'm happy with do you need to dial in for every type of drink ?
I would recommend Delonghi magnifica plus. Where are you in Canada? I know a place locally that sells open boxes in Toronto which is basically new for $850 all in. I purchased magnifica start and magnifica plus from him and it has been working great for the past 6 Months.
Yeah it's way better than Nespresso pods I was using before, and from reviews I read online delonghi makes better coffee drinks because they can make larger coffee pucks vs Philip machines.
Second this machine - make sure it’s the Plus not one of the other evos. Largest espresso dose available. I think the milk is a bit more finely textured on the Jura and KA machines but the espresso is best on the DeLonghi MP. DeLonghi and KA have a removable brew group so much easier to keep the machine clean.
I got a De longhi magnifica plus recently, an unbelievable machine, just pour in the beans and over a dozen different types of coffees at the touch of a button. Highly recommend.
Delonghi magnifica plus here, less expensive than the eletta explore and a newer release date. It hits the sweet spot with the number of drinks. Personally, I’m glad I went this route as I don’t see the features of the other making up for it in money spent.
Went from a Philips 2231 to a De'Longhi Magnifica Plus. Super happy with the upgrade. I wouldn't recommend a Philips tbh, maintenance is a pain as coffee grounds get everywhere in the brew group. The coffee from the Magnifica is leagues better as well.
Magnifica Plus. High level of craftsmanship, excellent software/menu choices, consistently good coffee, you can take out brew group.
Delonghi Magnifica Plus definitely.
The model numbers can be different in different countries, they also can be different for different colors etc, just look by name. I think I have ECAM320.70.TB if you need numbers. There are a lot of reviews on YouTube, check them for more details.
