I just got a De'longhi Magnifica Start for 600$CAD on an Amazon deal and if you're looking for an espresso machine without the latté thing, it's unbeatable at this price. Espresso extraction is great

I would recommend Delonghi magnifica plus. Where are you in Canada? I know a place locally that sells open boxes in Toronto which is basically new for $850 all in. I purchased magnifica start and magnifica plus from him and it has been working great for the past 6 Months.

My Magnifica Start is a boss. High quality, strong shots and easy to maintain. It takes me about 30 seconds to clean the components once I’m finished in the morning.

r/superautomaticSeeking Advice: Best Automatic Espresso Machine for Beginners (Under €700) - Cappuccinos & Flat Whites!

Super automatics in general are made for beginners.  I would suggest a Delonghi Magnifica Evo or Magnifica Start for the budget-minded.  Delonghi machines produce the best espresso at every price point even beating machines like the Jura Z10 at $4,000.  The DeLonghi Magnifica Plus makes the best espresso of any consumer super automatic and it's only about $1000.

r/superautomaticLooking for advice: First superautomatic espresso machine (coffee only, no milk)

I recently bought the magnifica start and I’m pretty happy with it. Mine comes with the milk wand and I do prepare a cappuccino and latte so I’m pretty happy with . The coffee itself is good. As for the build quality the Magnifica is very plasticky but so are the Juras, I’ve seen them in person and touch them and they’re also a lot of plastic. My opinion is if you can comfortably buy the Jura then go ahead, but don’t really need to stretch out your wallet to buy Jura, Magnifica is great

I have the same. Milk drinks are just ok - a separate milk frother produces better results and is easier to clean. In hindsight I wish I just bought the magnifica start with the exact same grinder and brewgroup at a lower price

The magnifica lineup is mostly the same, even if it's S, Evo, Start, they all have the same inside bits. What's different is the touchscreen and the drink selection. We bought the magnifica start w/ latte macchiato option & milk carafe for $380 or something like that. It is THE best buy în this price range. I am 100% sure you're going to love the S. What I can say from cross-reference is that the De'Longhi is way ahead of the Philips and does not require as much cleaning/it doesn't get quite as dirty. It's also better built. And if you've got a good price on a De'Longhi I wouldn't risk buying another brand. I think these machines do their job very well and you'll find that they're actually well made. And locally made. We're in Romania and I was absolutely shocked to find out that the machine I bought was actually manufactured in RO.

I recommend the fully automatic espresso machines. From whole beans to cup the machine handles everything for you in minutes, you just refill the water tank, have beans in the tank, and press a button. They are available at around $400-$500, but of course you can always get better ones with more functions. Ask yourself what coffee you drink most. Do you need automatic frother for milk, or do you just drink espresso, americano, etc., and then give yourself a budget. Can't go wrong with a De'Longhi - B0CWCHHDK5 on Amazon - this one is even going on sale right now. Cleaning and maintenance will be pretty much the same across every coffee machine.

r/superautomaticDelonghi vs KitchenAid machine
19 days ago

No idea on the Kitchenaid, sorry. I have a De'Longhi Magnifica Start, very basic, but the thing about basic is that there's less to go wrong with it. It's dialed in right now for the beans I'm using, and the espresso tastes great. My husband thinks I've lost it when I clean the machine (easy to clean) and admire the quality of the pucks. I have a separate frother that does well with almond milk and other plant-based milks. The Magnifica is *not* quiet, but the grinding doesn't take long. I use our Breville Precision Thermal drip brewer for regular coffee, though.

Delonghi is a pretty good choice. If you manage to find the right settings to suit your taste, it will make great coffee. All-in-all, a little advice, if I may. I don't think I need to tell you that DeLonghi has different models, such as Magnifica, Dinamica, Eletta, PrimaDonna, and so on. And there are variations within each model—e.g. the Magnifica S is considered a basic model, but the Magnifica Evo Plus, for example, offers milk frothing and touch controls. But here's the "trick"—inside, both are the same machine. Same water pump, same grinder, same boiler, and so on. Only the Evo Plus is roughly 30% more expensive than the S. Of course, if you want a milk + coffee drink, the S may not be the right choice (although with a little practice, you can steam milk very nicely with the S's steam wand.) So what I'm trying to say is that you always have to consider what you're buying the machine for, because in my experience, most people think that a stylish milk jug and a colorful touchscreen mean that the machine has some kind of advanced technology—but that's not the case. The technical differences are between the different models, almost never within a single model. Oh, and this stands for most of the brands as well... almost.
