Get both systems if you can manage it. I love my OL Lattissima+ with integrated milk option and my VL Roundhead machine for coffees. And I have a Pixie at my office.
You don't need to pick which one is more faster cause it only took seconds to minute, I honestly dont think it matters. For Citiz and essenza, those are original line coffee machines, smaller capsule. Vertuo lines are good too. The difference between vertuo and original line is the extraction method. The original line uses pressure to extract coffee from capsules while the vertuo uses bar code for reading and then it identifies the volume of your coffee. You might consider the creatista so you could easily make coffee in just one press, it automatically adds milk depending on your coffee choice. Also the cup size, in vertuo you need larger cup size so if you like large cup of coffee you should go with vertuo. I have tried both vertuo and original line. I tried pixie, Citiz and creatista from original line and there is no big difference in the coffee extraction really. For vertuo, I tried vertuo plus and it's really good.
I am having great success with the Nessus for my follow on brews after my actual Nessie. Use 30ml and it works like a charm. Plus, my bag coffee (Birds & Beans) tastes much better through the Nespresso Vertuo Plus than the “keurig” brew.
I'm speaking from a place of limited knowledge Most "quality" milk frothers are gonna be around $100, that is what would let you make a latte I bought a Nespresso Vertuo Plus on sale for $140 (normally $200) and I feel like at $140 was a good price for a machine that makes great espresso from a pod
We had both the Nespresso Vertuo plus, and an “original” … the Inissia by Breville. I liked having a shot of “strong” coffee in about 25 seconds, or less. I had one of these while boiling water for a pour over. I even bought the refillable pods that you add your own coffee to. I decided to try real espresso, and purchased a Flair original NEO press and a KINGrinder K6. I was blown away. Deep, rich taste and texture. To answer your question… yes. It is 100% worth investing $500 to upgrade your day, every day. My Nespresso machine was listed on Facebook Marketplace yesterday after a year in the garage 😃
OL pods are less if you don’t buy Nespresso brand. I get 10 pods for $4-5 at Home Goods, and many are great, so .50 a pod. I had a Vertuo Plus but the pods kept going up, and I prefer lattes anyway
It depends on your needs. If you want espresso only, get the essenza mini. (OG line) If you want espresso + coffee, get the VertuoPlus (VertuoLine)
I have OL and do prefer it over VL as it uses pressure extraction but Nespresso does over roast their beans with like 75% of their coffee. At least that’s my opinion. I usually buy the same roasts over and over again. But the roasts I do like, I really like.
