That's an easy one; la marzocco, ecm, lelit, rancilio, bezzera will do the trick. I've had lelit plust and now I own ecm puristika I think that they are truly bifl machines with proper maintenance
This perspective is resonating with me more and more. I wound up going down the lever rabbit hole, and I picked up a Londinium Vectis. I quite like it so far, with the exception of the lever being so tall (it's hard to find a good place for it; I may need to build an espresso cart). If I end up selling it, I might pick up a Puristika or Classika. If my tastes or needs change down the line, I can always pick up a Ride or, more likely, a Drive.
Ended up going down the lever rabbit hole and picking up a Londinium Vectis. I'm really enjoying it, but I'm still not 100% sure that I'll keep it. If I end up selling it, I may pick up a nice E61 single boiler, like a Puristika or Classika (I wish Profitec made one!). Are you thinking about picking up one of these?
I ended up going down the lever rabbit hole, and I've since picked up a Londinium Vectis, Londinium Compressa, and also an ECM Puristika. The Vectis is a cute machine that reliably pulls tasty shots, but I wasn't able to pull thicker, syrupy shots, and I had to refill it nearly daily. After some reading and speaking with Reiss, I decided to try the Compressa, and I definitely like it more. It pulls much thicker, full-bodied shots, and I don't have to refill it. I'm going to sell the Vectis soon. As for the Puristika, I thought it was a cute machine and could be a fun project—I may swap out the pump and throw in a linear potentiometer for pressure control. Sorry that I don't have Profitec-specific feedback for you!
Nob I ended up buying a Puritiska ECM with a flow control kit. The new rapid heating system and the much nicer aesthetic of the machine made me switch.
I was in the same boat, just espressos, no milk. Was looking at the Puristika, but then decided on the Classika. Same espresso but with option for steaming, feature proofing for less than £100. You never know when somebody comes over and you have the option to offer milk drinks.
Check out the ECM Puristika. The build quality is on a whole nother level. And since it’s an E61, it’s incredibly versatile. That would be my pick for only espresso.
Depends on what is important to you. Fast heat up, looks, PID, easily adjustable pressure, longevity, repairability, size, the actual process of making the shot? If you want a long lasting machine and like tinkering, you would probably go for a Silvia or a used ECM or something similar. If you want a really nice looking machine and only drink espresso, you might end up with a ECM puristika. Want the most bang for the buck, you will probably end up with a modified Delonghi Dedica or your machine. I went the used ECM route (Classika 1 for 500€, absolute bargain). And there are differences in shot quality, but I don’t think they are purely price related and certainly one could argue that a lot of people have a way better machine than they could ever make use of. It’s a hobby for a lot of people so they like to treat themselves.
I have used three different single boiler machines over the years. All of them make good Milk Drinks. If you don't plan on doing more than two milk drinks at the same time regularly, single boiler is enough. The ECM is an amazing machine, absolutely gorgeous, very powerful steam, in comparison to, for example, a Rancilio Silvia, incredible build quality inside and out. Stable temperature (even on my old non PID), can be retrofitted with flow control rather easily. I used mine for almost ten years and now is the first time I *need* to have it serviced (some seals start leaking in the group head). If you want to treat yourself and are into the looks, I would go for either that or a Profitec Go. Leilt are hard to beat when it comes to price-performance, but you CAN feel the difference when using them. If I were you and did Espresso like 80%-90% of the time, I personally would opt for an ECM Puristika, that thing is on a whole other level when it comes to build quality and finish (seriously, check some reviews online, it's such a nice machine). Then get a small auto frother when you get the urge for a Cappuchino.

Just like you i drink only espresso and for this reason i have ordered an ECM puristika. E61 group head with flow control, PID, and adjustable brew pressure. No steaming, but it's not needed :)
I don’t use it as much anymore but my ECM Puristika is a work horse. The removal of the steam functionality basically got rid of any of the weak points
ECM, La Marzocco, Profitec, Bezzera, Rocket, Faema and basically every E61 group head machine.
We have an ECM from idrinkcoffee. Their store/showroom is in Milton for anyone in the GTA. They're awesome.
