I’m in the Toronto area and have a similar use case. Just upgraded from the ECM TECHNIKA V (which was a very solid machine) to a Micra. Very happy with that decision because of simplicity, consistency and endgame stature. I don’t do bells and whistles - just simple excellence. Go for it!

Before I bought my ECM technika profi over 16 years ago, I went through 4 machines that broke, brands included breville, krups and sunbeam. I now have the ECM and a la pavoni professional that will outlive me I'm sure.

My ECM technika (made in Germany) has been going strong for over 15 years The only thing I replaced is a worn steam valve.

We have an ECM from idrinkcoffee. Their store/showroom is in Milton for anyone in the GTA. They're awesome.
