3145B for me, no contest. Lamang ng Gaggia is probably reliability since matagal na sila.
I do have the Gemilai 3145B and I have used a Gaggia Classic Pro extensively. Not the evo version. The reason I bought the 3145B is because you have to do PID mods to the gaggia to get it to perform like the 3145. There are ways around it but I don’t want to temperature surf. Also steaming was difficult for me in the gaggia. I got better so much faster with the 3145 steaming wand with temp sensor.
3145B, I have the GCP but modded with gaggiuino. 3145B performs better than unmodded GCP out of the box. Only thing is GCP is a lot easier to repair and mod by yourself, sobrang dami ng documentation nya since it's a very popular machine for enthusiasts and its replacement parts are widely available.
I’m located in Southeast Asia, Turin or Gemilai as it is known here, is prevalent and relatively cheap compared to the Europeans, that’s for a reason. Have owned Gemilais in the past -3605 & 3145b. Gemilai machines look great and the features are good. However, the internals on them are not that great, plastic connectors and hoses, the pcb boards are not properly protected. 3-5 years down the road of heavy use I guarantee you, something will break. Longer perhaps if it’s home use, doesn’t matter which model. I’d choose the Quickmill over the Turin any day. If you must go chinese, look for the “Milesto” brand, these are the better made chinese machines. They’re not as pretty as the Gemilais but it has solid internals - brass & copper pipes & fittings. Milesto’s rotary pump lineup are better as well than Gemilai’s.
Gemilai is good, just make sure na dual boiler. Tas invest the rest for a high quality grinder.
Yes I have a Gemilai :)
