Based on 1 year's data from Mar 20, 2026 How it works
I got a Jura e6 from Costco a little over a year ago. Worth every penny, I now prefer my coffee over outside coffee.
Honestly, it'd be hard for anything to live up to a $4,500 price tag. I mainly use my Jura for coffee and espresso, and the $1,000 spent on my latest E6 was totally worth it. I can't imagine what additional features would be worth adding multiple thousands on top of this.
I picked up a jura e6 in November 2018 for about 1400 or so after tax and have been using it daily with at least 3 cups of coffee through it daily, but a lot more in the beginning when I had housemates. I’d say we’ve gone through roughly 10k cups of coffee at this point, with roughly 4 filters a year ($20 each avg) and a cleaning tablet every now and then (~40 dollars for a supply that has lasted me since I bought it). Using the filters means I shouldn’t need to descale. We don’t really do milk drinks, so one of the smaller machines would have worked just as well, but if this one ever breaks, I will immediately purchase another one. Cleaning the brew group is quite fiddly though as it’s not a service item and you’ll need a jura security socket to open up the machine, but having done it twice, it’s not too bad. Many other brands will have an easier to clean brew group, but I’ve read that the trade off is that there is a difference in quality of the coffee. I would recommend going to a sur la table if you wanted to check it out a jura in person. One potential point of failure for a lot of super automatics is the grinder. I tend to stay away from beans that have an oily sheen to them because I’ve read that the oil can clog the grinder eventually causing it to fail. I believe you can mitigate this by cleaning and doing regular maintenance, but I’d rather just choose a less oily Bean doesn’t require extra steps. Another failure point that I’ve read about many times and experienced once is scaling in the thermoblock. Over time, mineral deposits build up inside of the passages and reduce the efficacy of the water boiler. My first jura died that way, hence the filters.
Great timing….. Jura e8 . Factory Refurbished on sale now for $1,800. That’s what I did last year and we love ours. https://us-jura.com/c/AQie8QoQ1-RKGOWerYsCIIfK-BQo4-DSHsljy1owz29t0jecwP4XsRP4tt5vwLgxMJgtXnAU_KYo They also have the e6 for $1k.
Your comment being downvoted several times while providing legitimate and useful information is further proof that this channel has become overrun with paid kitchenaid people. It’s insanely BS that all of a sudden kitchenaid is THE machine. I’m sure it’s fine but Jura and Miele are generally best bet for SA. I’ll second most of what you said — Jura E6 is best mix of quality to price. Many but not all reviewers are paid or sponsored but you can still glean a little from folks like Hoon’s coffee.
I bought one and returned it. made great espresso coffee but black coffee was weak and lukewarm
Yes, you can buy Jura from authorized Canadian distributors such as Jura Canada: https://ca.jura.com/en. I bought mine in the US on sale and it was a refurb, with all the gadgets to buy, I need to save money. The refurb machine from Jura worked perfectly. Sometimes they send me deals via email. There is another place I would highly recommend: Costco.ca: [https://www.costco.ca/s?langId=-24&keyword=jura](https://www.costco.ca/s?langId=-24&keyword=jura) Costco doesn't have lower priced modals but if you want higher end models Costco is a good choice. Tried Jura E6 espresso at Sur La Table store and felt in love with it. Didn't know much about coffee and didn't want the the learning curve or spending much time to brew a great cup of Joe. Bought Jura E4 after extensive research: love at first taste. Make 3 cups of Americano per day by manually adding water to Jura made espresso (diff beans diff amt of water). Enjoyed every cup. Great cup of Joe no matter what beans I throw in & easy to clean. Have to admit I'm spoiled by Jura E4 and it's hard to find better coffee brew when I'm outside.
Yes, I just purchased my E6 and I am loving how easy it is! I got it $500 off going thru the website, Greentoe…it’s legit! I paid 1500
Ive had my E6 for over 2 years and its still running like a champ every morning.
Ok nice, I ask because we have a Breville and i walked into a Miele store the other day and they offered me a cup from one of the more expensive super automatic machines and i was really impressed with the quality and taste of the espresso. But maybe im just an uncultured swine. 🤣 But seriously it was good, we had a Jura E6 before the Breville and i hated it
