Has a rancilvio silvia/rocky grinder for ten years, enjoyed the process. Had our first kid, 6 months later got a Jura S8. Sold silvia during covid. Haven't looked back.

r/superautomaticWhat are some popular or highly rated espresso machines? [$1,000 to $2,000]

Jura S8 was great until it broke 3 months later. Plus the inability to remove and clean the brew group was a deal breaker. I’m certain mold was going wild in there. I now use the magnifica plus and we are happy with it. Less than half the price, easy to open and clean, and similar espresso quality.

r/superautomaticBest Auto machine if you only care about Cappuccino and Flat Whites

I’d say you want a Jura model that lets you adjust milk texture, which several do. The S8 comes to mind. Most machines only make one milk texture, and if you want that dryer, stiffer foam cappuccinos typically call for, many won’t quite get there. Also, read through the sub. Terra Kaffe have a poor reliability track record and bad service after the sell, I’d avoid.

r/superautomaticWhich superautomatic espresso machine is worth buying for quality and longevity?

Jura S8 - factory refurb but still more than your budget. My first (only) super-automatic. I'm about 3.5 years in, just cleaned internals (tho you can't remove the brew grp) and swapped in a new burr grinder set. Going strong.

1) it was available at the time, 2) decent (not great) price but w/in my range, and 3) probably the most important, ease of use (e.g. so my wife can push 1 button, customized to give the strength of coffee + specific amount of water). I think? It \_was\_ over 3 yrs ago so I don't recall anything more than that.

r/superautomaticHigh-end super automatic owners (JURA, Miele, etc), what convinced you that you had buy one?

Few reasons, but the primary are #1 I have buyers remorse, often it's easier to buy the best and know i will be happy, than upgrade in 2 years and take a loss on the old equipment. #2 I returned the jura E8 because the cleaning process of carrying water around was annoying and it didn't balance well so you sometimes spilled water if you were in a rush. I prefer the one touch clean #3 We knew we wanted a second child and having a decaf hopper is a godsend when the wife is pregnant. For what its worth, we love our giga 10 and have not looked back.

Apologies, that was the s8 I returned. The e8 might be fine.  The s8 doesn't fill from the water reservoir, so I had to carry a container from the kitchen to the machine with the cleaning solution and then again for the clean water.   Here is a video. The idea of adding this cleaning process every day for what I hope to be many years felt short-sighted. Given the container's poor balance, I ended up mopping the floor one too many times in just 2 months.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_ag_ULnMbU

r/AskUKCoffee lovers - what is the best simple bean to cup coffee machine?

We have super automatic bean -to cups because my wife will not tolerate having to do anything but press a button first thing in the morning. We replaced our Philips Saeco after 12 years of service with a Jura 8 a few months ago and it is magnificent, though not cheap. Coffee seems almost on a part with independent coffee shop coffee. Very nice.

I’ve put a Bezzera Magica (no plumbing) and an Eureka Mignon Specialità in the office kitchen, next to a Jura super automatic. 80% of the staff prefers the Jura, while the rest makes for maybe 20 coffee drinks a day on the Bezzera. It works beautifully, I’d say.
