which LM we are talking about here? I only ever used the Micra for extended period of time and it's worth it, everything feels easy and consitent, it's very nice and powerful machine. I used my friend's Leva X a couple times, that thing is interesting and can pull absolutely lovely shots with light to very light beans, plus it is a beauty. All I'm saying is, if you can afford a LM machine, go for it, it'd be worthwhile

Yeah, I worked in a place that had a commercial La Marzocco and the amount of absolute slop that came out of that machine was awful to watch. Very few cleaned up after use etc and the grinder was never dialed in. Shame really but just not fit for general office life

I started with a Barista Pro and leveled up to a La Marzocco.

Having a La Marzocco in no way saves you money. Between heating the machine, water, maintenance, etc. You'll be lucky to break even after 5-7 years. With that said, it is a single joy of my life; I wake up every day looking forward to pulling a shot. I made a deal with my wife for the next 10 years; she doesn't need to get me anything, no birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc. Let's say that's a great deal. I'm a picky person to get gifts for, and this saves her and me time and effort. Best of luck with your decision.

I love seeing La Marzocco owners justify the faulty water level sensors on "bad water".

The sensor just fails to register that there is water and owners like to say it's because you should used distilled water with those espresso third wave water additives. Of course, that's pure bullshit since a water level sensor should just check if there is liquid in the tank or not and water level sensors are not new technology.

Non resistive sensors do not need minerals. But that is not the issue since the La Marzocco sensors fail in tap water with plenty of mineral content. They are just either poor quality or badly designed. Tons of household, commercial, and industrial equipment have water level sensors that will not need a specific mineral content. This includes coffee machines. I see a lot of people on here thinking non prepared water will fuck up machines, and it makes them sound like naive 14 year olds. But that was my original point. La Marzocco owners will use a lot of pseudoscience and ignorance to defend their shitty purchase decision. Just like HI FI enthusiasts that buy a 1000$ power cord not understanding that the wiring in their walls would invalidate that purchase.

I bought one and sold it less than a year. Didn’t like the machine.

Everything… except steam power is stunning.
