if you are financially able to afford it right now I'm would if thats the one you really want. I upgraded twice sob3 machines. if i would do it all over again I would of gone with the micra instead of the breville, then a ecm classika to the current lucca m58.

A lot of people are talking about the sink and the Bianca, but there are other great E 61 machines out there. Quick mill Vetrano 2B Evo/Lucca M58. Izzo Alex Duetto. these happen to be amazing build quality with very little plastic tubing and folded stainless steel with no visible edges like some of the Lelits (not that this is an issue for most people). At the end of the day an E 61 can make sense from a pre-infusion perspective (lift up the handle part way and let it pre-infuse under static pressure until you’re ready to activate the pump.) and a standardization and repairability perspective (parts are very easy to find and can be used across brands, and repairs are so simple that you can do them yourself). For me this is a pretty important and also fun aspect of owning an E 61.

I had one for nearly a decade and just did regular back flushing, gasket changes and such on it, I never had to do anything with that machine and it just worked. I have a Lucca M58v2 (Quickmill made) now which is a more complex machine as it's a dual boiler, but I've had a boatload of annoying leaks and other weird issues in my 8 years with it. I keep up the same level of maintenance I did on the Silvia. I have issues I never ever had to deal with on Ms. Silvia

One way to beat the heat up tine is a smart plug. Wake up turn it on via phone. By the time you get out of bed and do all the things its ready. On many days im out first thing in the am for a run or play golf, but before i start my turn/drive home I turn it on. It's happily waiting all warmed up by the time i get home. Had a GCP and just upgraded to a Lucca M58 display model. Steam milk is as fast as the coffee brews now. I think and it could be just a ploy in my head to justify the cost, but I think it's more consistent shot for shot.

A Decent. I’m perfectly happy with my Lucca, but software person, I want to tinker with the bits.
