Besides a long return history due to cosmetic damage on the machine (Ninja has been very accommodating and very kind and helpful though!), I’m very happy with our machine. We have had it since October, and I absolutely will never have a regular coffee filter machine again 😂 I honestly think it’s a great machine for beginners. I like the fact that the cleaning and upkeeping is so easy. I like that it’s semi automatic, and that each “department” is seperated so neatly (grinder+tampet, water, milk). I love how I can put so many of the parts in the dishwasher. I think it makes great coffee! The only thing that I’m a bit bummed about is that I can’t buy replacement parts from their webside in my country. The nearest is Germany but they don’t ship to denmark. It means it’s hard to get stuff like original waterfilters for the machine, unless I buy from Amazon.
As someone who has this machine (the 701) and OCCASIONALLY uses it for drip coffee it's "fine". You have two type of coffee to select from "Classic" vs "Rich" and quantify ranging from 6 to 14 (maybe 16)oz. However my "problem" (if you could even call it that), is that I had (and have) a Keurig machine that's currently sitting right next to it. So (80% of the time), when I want "just coffee", waking up in the morning for example, I use the Keurig. The drip coffee the Ninja produces is maybe "strictly speaking" better, but also takes a considerably longer time to brew. I also tend to put some sort of cream and sugar into my coffee which tends to negate whatever difference there was anyway. I kind of went off on a tangent that probably isn't relevant to you (in fact your post says that you want to save counter space), so TLDR, in my limited experience, it's good it just takes a while to brew.
Ow no! I would love to get the AB machine to replace my 701 but if you say the frother isn’t that good as the 701. Maybe i shouldnt do it. I love my 701 frother and i wouldnt like to downgrade.
I just got the pro series from Best Buy and we really like it so far! For me, I love cold brew so the rapid cold brew is worth the price itself! We’ve had a lot of fun making cappuccinos and lattes with it too! The espresso can be tricky to dial in and not every shot comes out perfect but we’re slowly getting better and I’d say it’s worth it! I haven’t had any issues with the integrated tamper. I would stay away from the Costco version, I’ve bought coffee pots from Costco before and they always break. They’re “made cheaper for Costco” they’re not always the same quality product.

I’ll be pretty blunt: I’m impressed. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty damn close. So I’m someone who has now had all 3 Ninja espresso machines. The 601 was a nightmare. I went through 4-5 units until I had enough and Ninja just gave me a 701 but with no warranty. Honestly, the Pro had been pretty great. It still occasionally suffered from the same grinder issues I had with the 601 (the grind size would change mid grind), but otherwise, pretty great. So why buy the Autobarista? A few reasons: **Bean swapping:** I like to change beans before finishing a bag and the purging is always an unnecessary waste of beans. **Portafilters:** I make espresso based drinks and my wife does coffee based drinks. So every time we’re making coffee in the morning, we’re having to swap out the inserts. Not a big deal, but definitely a nuisance. **Efficiency:** Sometimes I just want to press a button. **Less clutter:** getting rid of the portafilter and knock box just make my space way cleaner. Maybe it matters to some, might not as much for others. So my experience so far has been really positive. There are a lot of great settings for customization and so far I’ve found the coffee to have more depth. The one note, as others have shared, the frother isn’t as *good*. I italicize this because I honestly felt the 601/701 over frothed my drinks. The AB is definitely flatter, even on the extra froth, but I’m ok with it. FWIW, I use barista style oat milk. So should you switch or consider it over the 601/701? If you have the same situation/needs as me, I’d recommend considering it. **Edit:** I forgot to mention that a big con for me is this thing uses a ton of water. It rinses before you make your first drink, after the machine shuts off, and generally seems to use more to make drinks than the 601/701. The only reason this is a big con for me is that I use TWW packets in gallons of distilled water. Definitely turning those over faster.
I have the Luxe Pro. It has no issues but I always want to change beans and it’s (kind of) annoying to keep manually adjusting the grind setting and portafilter for my espresso drinks and wife’s coffee-based drinks. **Worthwhile upgrade for those reasons?**

If the Ninja is what you want, go for the 600 series, as someone else said, the Costco version if you can get it. The Pro sounds like a great idea with the integrated tamper. I had two of them, the tamper caused....for me, inconsistency as you can't do good puck prep with it. When you move up to an espresso machine which is more hands on, it's a learning curve getting that element of the puck just right to get a great drink out of it. Coming from a Nespresso machine to a Ninja is a leap, but one that you'll find worth it in time.
One of the keys to great Espresso is puck prep. The integrated tamper on the Pro hinders that. Unless you want hot water on tap I'd recommend the 601 Premiere or better still if you use Costco their 655 Signature, in think it's called. That way you can do your puck prep and increase consistency, which I never got from the 701 Pro.
