I love my Cafe Luxe. It does everything good enough, and I'm pretty snobby about coffee. Espresso is good, drip coffee is good, iced coffee and cold brew are good. Everything turns out nicely and it's all in one relatively compact package. It's not unusual for me to make 4 totally different coffee drinks a day on it, between me, my wife, and like a neighbor stopping by.

It looks like that is what OOP is looking for. Something that can replace their daily Starby’s run, not learn a new hobby.

We really like ours. It does a great job for someone looking to replace Starby’s.

But you still have to dial in your beans manually, which is going to be a deal-breaker for many people who want an alternative to $6 coffee shop lattes, don’t mind pushing a few buttons (instead of just one in a superautomatic), but can’t be bothered learning how to dial in coffee.

>Her main requirements are: >Has a grinder >frother >automated measuring Given those requirements, a Ninja in indeed the obvious choice. Yes, yes, people will tell you about the non-repairability of Ninjas (which is true), but that is the price you pay to get all that automation at that cheap a price. The only alternatives would be (the very cheapest) superautomatics (see r/superautomatic to explore), but those have the same issues AND make worse coffee. So, yeah, if the prospect of having a paperweight after the warranty period (at least 1 year, often 2 after registering) runs out is not a deal-breaker for you, the Ninja is not a bad deal. Especially if the alternative is buying lattes etc. at $6 a pop several times a week. Bottom line: happy wife, happy life.
