I’ve had the Phillips 3200 (similar to photo in post with some other hot beverage options) with steam wand for 3year with zero complaints, it’s a beast.
I've had a Phillips 3200 for about a year now and it's fine. Not great, but fine. I can only guess how much $ I've saved by not buying $7 lattes everyday.
If you ended up choosing the Breville Barista Touch, I think you picked an excellent Espresso machine! I myself wasn't sure what was better, a full manual or a superautomatic. I drink mostly flat whites and cappuccinos, and at some point I realized I care more about consistent, low-effort mornings. I've owned a superauto Philips 3200. Superautos win for zero-effort workflow and easy cleaning cycles, but you sacrifice some shot quality and adjustability. Also from a space perspective, most superautos are deeper than they look online. If you got standard counter depth, the Breville actually fits better in a lot of kitchens. I hope you enjoy it🤍
I personally dislike the taste of nespresso… I was gifted one for my wedding but I honestly just dont like it. I got rid of it when my work was getting rid of their super automatic phillips 3200. It tastes way better. Currently saving up for a regular automatic espresso machine, but even super automatics are noticeably tastier to me than nespresso
Phillips 3200 is trash. My parents have it and it makes the weakest most watered down coffee even when you set the setting for less volume of liquid and more coffee.
You can definitely get closer to a semi-auto with something other than a Philips 3300. That's a machine with one of the smallest dose sizes at around 9 grams. It won't come close to a semi-auto that uses around 18 grams. You want a superauto that delivers something closer to 14-16 grams a shot.
Yeah, I agree with everything you said, and I have owned a Philips 3200 myself. It was more to say there are superautomatic machines that can get you closer to a semi-auto than the Philips. Of course you will be looking at spending a little more money.
I second this. I went from a full manual setup, to Philips 3200, to a ninja lux. I couldn’t be happier with the ninja because it just works and makes life easy. And my partner can use it with no problem. She actually loves it.
I highly recommend the ninja! Recently returned my Philips 3200 and got the ninja, and I couldn’t be happier. Night and day difference in quality.
I’ve never heard this explanation of coffee crema. I’ve loved my Philips 3200 for a long time and the coffee crema is why! Very cool
https://www.costco.com/p/-/delonghi-magnifica-evo-automatic-espresso-machine-with-frother-and-preset-recipes/4000066539?langId=-1 I’m in Canada and Costco don’t have the evo. I purchased a Philips 3200 for cad$419 from Costco Canada and the main reason I’m keeping it is nothing came close to the point.
