I have a Phillips 3200 and same issue. Bought a stand alone milk frother made by Maestri House and problem solved. Espresso from the 3200 + whatever quantity of 160° milk from my frother and now I make pretty damned good lattes.
I've had a Phillips 3200 for about a year now and it's fine. Not great, but fine. I can only guess how much $ I've saved by not buying $7 lattes everyday.
After having a variety of machines I realized I wanted the convenience of super auto but the ability to steam milk manually for better quality milk foam texture. Had a philips 3200 latte go and it was overall ok. The milk was only auto via the milk cup and its too bubbly and foam kind of sucks. Jura impressa s9 got it for free from a neighbor. Was in dire need of cleaning and repair. Clogged spouts and overall very dirty water tank. I cleaned it up disinfected it, and disassembled the spout and cleaned out all the blockages. It has the option for manual or auto milk steam. Same issue with auto steam milk via a milk container. Just doesn't compare to manual. Using the manual wand its pretty good but not as good as a manual machine. I thought jura was going to be a pain with maintenance and it has been overall pretty easy. Even taking it apart wasn't too bad. The philips also made good espresso and both tasted good but the manual steam wand is worth it if you like milk drinks and dont only want cappuccino style foam all the time. Manual espresso machines tasted the best and had the best milk.
I bought a Phillips LatteGo 3200 before Covid for $500 refurbished, $900 new and it's fully automatic. It has a built in grinder that grinds when you brew a cup, steams the milk, and can make cappuccino, lattes, espresso, etc. It's the best investment I've made. You only have to clean the inside once a week, empty the coffee grinds after about 8 cups, minimal yearly maintenance. I highly recommend.
I'm looking for recommendations for a superautomatic espresso machine with automatic milk frothing for 2–4 lattes or cappucinos per day. Current machine is a Philips 3200 LatteGo. The coffee has been ok, but I've had recurring maintenance issues with O-rings and steam leaks making the frother non-functional. My general priorities are: 1. Reliability 2. Drink quality 2. Ease of use 3. Ease of cleaning Budget is under $1,000, in the US. I also have a Costco membership, so Costco models/deals are definitely an option, but it seems magnifica model they currently have has the steam wand, and I'm really looking for a fully auto system. For those who have owned these long-term, what would you buy today? Any models I should avoid? Edit: I was thinking through this a bit more and also was not happy with the consistency of shot quality and the tendency to get grinds in all the nooks and crannies of the Phillips.
I had a lattego 3200 and now a 3300. Same machine but a lot more silent. (They replaced the Americano button for iced coffee)... My next one will be a delonghi or jura
Hii had the 3200 5400 and the saeco xelsis....all served me well Now I have the Delonghi Eletta explore and this machine does everything your looking for milk based use 2% grind setting 4 for all coffees drinks Right now I have been using lavazza super crema which is a great balance for coffee and expresso ...I too.almost pulled the trigger on the Z10 but opted for this everyone has a comment about which they love......Its all personal preferences if you can and have amazon prime you can buy use and return without issues . this way you can test them all.
funny about bed bath and beyond I bought my nespresso there many years ago then the philips 3200 then the 4400 the the saeco xelsis now my Delonghi eletta explore.....Hope you find one that suits you
Hi I have the same machine. It's one of the best out there keep my grind setting at 4. I use 2% milk for the best froth for milk based drinks. Grinds are not all over as people suggested. Cleaning the brew group once a month submerged in water for 5 minutes. water filter is a choice. I use refrigerator water which has a filter plus I have no hard water. Lavazza supercrema beans I find the best for grind setting "4" for all coffees drinks but thats my taste. If you like very hot cappuccinos try the flat white to me provides hotter froth also on a regular cup of joe .You can use the hot milk setting just make sure you there to stop it.....lol. I have had philips latte go ,saco xelsis and( jura10 returned after a week). Youtube also has lots of videos too..... ....................
