Based on 1 year's data from Mar 20, 2026 How it works
I bought a Philips and returned it. It’s comparable to a Keurig level coffee. Coffee has been watery for the 2 weeks I owned it. Even at maximum strength and finest grind, I was never able to get a good flow, the flow was always too fast. I then bought a delonghi magnifica, night and day compared to the Philips.
Pretty much the same boat. My wife just refused to learn the gaggia. Still have mine as I love it too much, but it's in a box for the last weekish. We got a Philips 3300. It's .....fine. It definitely isn't as good, but she loves being able to just press a button and go. Basically if you do espresso on the strongest setting with the lowest amount of water, it's passable. I feel like SAs won't come close to what you can get with a GCO, bambino, dedica, etc. SAs are for the ease and convenience. I could be wrong, but at least that's what my research in the $500ish level was telling me.
My wife and I have had a 3300 for a while now and love it. The first 8-10 shots were weak after we adjusted to a slightly finer grind but it has been awesome ever since. Seems like there is a slight break-in period with the 3300 (maybe all superautomatics but I have only had this one).
I bought one and had it for 2 weeks before I got my money back and bought a Delonghi Rivelia instead and it is so much better than the Philips in every way, and especially noise levels and espresso taste!
I first bought a Philips 3300 and had it for two weeks. The coffee was ok(with good beans)but it was super noisy and hard to clean. So when i saw the Rivelia on sale I immediately sent the Philips back and got a DeLonghi Rivelia and it’s better in every way. The quality, the coffee, cleaning etc. I love it and have already gone through like 1.5kg of beans lol. It’s so silent compared to the Philips and makes good coffee even with cheap not so good coffee beans(same beans that tasted horrible on the Philips).
I think this is more of a user error - my 3300 pulls a nice shot. Super Crema espresso as well as some local light roasts is all I run through my machine. I will agree that it was very weak espresso and coffee at first, but after a week or so I had my grind and coffee setting dialed in and the coffee is great. The water temperature for espresso IMO needs to be set to "High" or you don't get a good shot, coffee, or anything.
We also have a Phillips lattego. It's definitely not as high quality as a manual espresso but it does the trick. I think we have a 3300?
I had a lattego 3200 and now a 3300. Same machine but a lot more silent. (They replaced the Americano button for iced coffee)... My next one will be a delonghi or jura
My S.O. loves lattes. I love americanos or flat whites (I love a strong coffee) so from my last tasting of a nearly 4x more expensive jura machine, I was pleased with it... But I can replace my lattego 4 times before I pay for a jura.. The delonghi gets really good reviews here so I'm tempted to get it next. Mainly because of this sub and people who confirm it does a better espresso than my Philipps.
I love my Phillips. Its super easy to use and clean. Its been going strong for 2 years 0 issues. Grind and bean quality is the only think you need to do yourself and to your taste. I get very strong pucks and flavor from my settings.
I bought a Phillips and it was very weak espresso. Returned and bought a Delonghi and it is very strong, quality espresso.
I found it almost perfect. Pros Immortal Easily repairable Inexpensive spare parts. Cons Consumes a lot of unnecessary water Cleaning is a torture The coffee comes out long and doesn't produce a true espresso Excessively expensive
