I have Jump and it is based on Pro 400. Definitely recommend it

I wouldn’t get this machine or breville/sage machines. I had sage barista pro and it’s group head leaked water, apparently its screws lose and I opened it up put some lock tide, it worked for a while but it did it again, I sold it for a very low price just to get rid of it. It is an appliance not a machine, it will break eventually. I got a Profitec Jump amd Eureka perfetto grinder, it was sold as a pair with discount. I realized the how high quality can a machine could be. For a lower price, I would get Profited Go and a eureka grinder (or other decent grinder) usually it is sold as paired with a nice discount. You would thank me later.

This may be true on old HX machines, but there are a number of PID controlled modern HX machines like the Profitec Jump that maintain very consistent pressure.

Flow control is a game changer. Bought a Profitec Jump with flow control 2 months ago. Being able to keep pressure at 9 bars while pulling a shot makes for very consistant results from shot to shot.

HX is the brewing technology that is used in the Cellini and other espresso machines. It isn't directly related to use of plastic. HX technology has evolved considerably in the past 25 years, and HX machines such as Profitec Jump or Lelit Mara X are much more technologically advanced than the Cellini, and have better temperature stability. However, all semi-auto machines with pumps, such Cellini, use plastic water tanks, and plastic water lines to connect the tank to the pump. The only way to avoid that is to go with a manual lever machine that lacks both a water tank and a pump.

Those temperature measurements you see on this sub were made by people who don't understand how to measure brew temperature. Brew temperature is measured between the top of the coffee puck and bottom of the shower screen when brewing under pressure. Doing this requires a Scace Thermofilter or similar instrument. Any other method is going to result in a low temperature reading. Ignore any temperature measurement you see online that wasn't done with a Scace. I started my home espresso journey with a Barista Express. When I got a good grinder to use with it, it was like getting a whole new and better setup. I happily used it for 3 more years before upgraditis finally took its toll on me. When I switched to a Profitec, I couldn't detect any difference in taste. Start your upgrade journey with the best grinder you can afford.

I just was in this price range ($2k) and just got the Profitec Jump. Loving it so far, build quality is exceptional, lots of controls, (and I bought the model with flow control pre installed).

I got the Jump recently and for someone who makes a mix of espresso /americano and milk drinks, it’s been perfect. I believe the Jump is the newer joy stick version of the 400. Love the joysticks. Either way you go, I think you’ll be happy with the Profitec build quality

Profitec Jump with flow control, about $2,200 and checks all the boxes, almost, does not have rotary pump.

Enjoy! I just upgraded from my Gemilai owl to a Profitec jump. It served us well for the past year.

For 3-6 milk drinks in a row, absolutely go for the HX… that would be a massive chore on a single boiler
