Do you absolutely need a condenser mic? The AT2020 is nice, but because it's a condenser mic, it's still going to pick up a lot of background sound. You may want to pick up a dynamic mic and a mic arm instead. I have an AT2005 (which is a bit cheaper, so it's not necessarily a proper comparison), but it's far better at rejecting background noise.
The Premier Pro part is irrelevant - you just want a good mic, and there are dozens. You probably want one that can connect to your computer with USB. And you probably have the computer running in the room, so you want a cardoid pickup pattern. Still dozens. I'm not a mic guy. I use a Heil PR40, and an Audio Technica AT2005USB. The Heil is not USB so I use a mixer. $100s apart in price, sound almost the same.
Audio Technica 2005 looks a little nicer, sounds the same (good) and ~$60
Audio Technica AT2005USB is the best bang for the buck. I loan it out to guests. Also has XLR output. Itβs amazing. If going XLR, Shure SM58 is easy money. That is my mic hooked to a DBX 286 then to interface.
Those AT mics are fantastic. I have a AT2005USB and it sounds as good as my Shure SM58 going through a mic processor.
We use two Earthworks Ethos condensers in the studio. One the road we use Audio Technica 2005 usb xlr dynamic mics
You can find any of the USB dynamic cardioid audiotechnica mics on Facebook Park for like 30 bucks and they sound incredible. You just have to not mind a microphone all up in your biz. Filters help maybe a tiny bit of compression and gating is all you need though, I feel like people on here tend to suggest over modulating.
I have an audio technica usb mic with an on-board audio card. I think I've had it for at least 5 years and it was like $150. My qual was accepted. If you already have a stand-alone mic that sounds good you might as well try the qual. Maybe having a quiet place to record is more important.
I didn't want to chance it so I just bought an audiotech one. They seemed reasonably priced where as the other brands mentioned were like hundreds more.
