Hi, this will depend on the scenario. If you are simply recording yourself talking, the very cheapest way, without using the phone's in-built microphone would be to use a lightning to TRRS adapter and then connect a TRRS lavalier microphone (there are loads on Amazon for cheap and many YouTube videos on the popular ones to see which one you like the sound of). Quite a few come with an extension cable to let you be further from the phone. If you are recording 2 people in the same room the the simplest and cheapest way would be to use a wireless lightning lavalier microphone system like the BOYA one: [https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0BPSGKH2W/?\_encoding=UTF8&pd\_rd\_plhdr=t&aaxitk=3becc51cce44d51ce3b3344b97fb408b&hsa\_cr\_id=0&qid=1748042737&sr=1-2-e0fa1fdd-d857-4087-adda-5bd576b25987&ref\_=sbx\_be\_s\_sparkle\_dlcd\_asin\_1\_title&pd\_rd\_w=6mJIO&content-id=amzn1.sym.a18126b6-9995-4982-ac44-f6ce57aa9bed%3Aamzn1.sym.a18126b6-9995-4982-ac44-f6ce57aa9bed&pf\_rd\_p=a18126b6-9995-4982-ac44-f6ce57aa9bed&pf\_rd\_r=75KVGA6FM8SDWSC8J62T&pd\_rd\_wg=kHHaT&pd\_rd\_r=380606f6-3380-4cd8-8317-505fb2fef387&th=1](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0BPSGKH2W/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_plhdr=t&aaxitk=3becc51cce44d51ce3b3344b97fb408b&hsa_cr_id=0&qid=1748042737&sr=1-2-e0fa1fdd-d857-4087-adda-5bd576b25987&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_dlcd_asin_1_title&pd_rd_w=6mJIO&content-id=amzn1.sym.a18126b6-9995-4982-ac44-f6ce57aa9bed%3Aamzn1.sym.a18126b6-9995-4982-ac44-f6ce57aa9bed&pf_rd_p=a18126b6-9995-4982-ac44-f6ce57aa9bed&pf_rd_r=75KVGA6FM8SDWSC8J62T&pd_rd_wg=kHHaT&pd_rd_r=380606f6-3380-4cd8-8317-505fb2fef387&th=1) You can also buy a single version of this for cheaper. Neither of these options will give you the best audio quality that you may want for your podcast, but they are they a considerable step up from the in-built microphone, especially when recording from a distance. Best wishes
Wireless lav mics with magnets will be a great help. Hollyland, Neewer, and Boya I can vouch for.
Boya lapel mics they are cheap but have decent quality but if you are not lucky and buy some Chinas knock offs be sure to get terrible outputs. I now only use the [mic calculator](https://electronicszone.online/calculators/microphone-selector) when purchasing mics to avoid falling into the fake ones.
Buy the gopro official mic adapter and use boya lav mic
I use a Boya lav mic on mobile. It works great. I also use it for filming content. Takes away a ton of background noise, which is very nice.
Yeeeep! I have an echo-y lofted bedroom and a 70lb catahoula who thinks the moment my camera is on should be the best time to clippy clop around the no carpet downstairs. I can attest to the fact the Boya doesn't kill all that insane echo, but it helps. And you can't hear the dog at all.
I bought a cheap boya mic because I didn't want to pay the premium of the then Rhode wireless system.i wasn't filming a lot I had issues with the connection in the field. ended up never using the mic. I started to record more talking head footage outdoors and when I needed it, the mic died and I couldn't charge the charging case anymore. I tried everything. i recently bought the DJI mic mini because I didn't want to use the charging case and only needed one mic. can't wait to give it a try.
BOYA mic are decent as well, given the compact factor vs what they deliver, its value for money
Got some Boya ones recently..cost about £40 and really good, have noise reduction.
